    Hi your video is extremely helpful. Thank you so much! I still can't quite solve my garage door problem though. I wonder if you can shed some light for me. Here's the thing: The chain is very loose on the "close door side" as if it's trying to close more but get stopped, so I try to adjust the "close more" dial, by dialing it back a bit. 1. if I dial it back just enough so that chain is nice and tight, opener can't open door. It can only close door. 2. if I dial in forward just a little bit so that chain is loose, door will bounce back as soon as it touches ground, as if it tries to travel/close more but hit obstacle and thus bounces back What else can I adjust?

    My garage door opener tries to shut my door before it decides to start opening it. Then it stops after a foot and I have to repeat the process of starting and stopping it until its fully open. What might be causing this? The hazard lights don't blink, the bottom sensors are aligned and the door will completely shut from top to bottom with only one push of the button. Any ideas? its a liftmaster btw.

    I have a chain operated opener (overhead doors Legacy 696) and every time I open it, it goes too high and ends up knocking the trolly out of wack. There is a button the the back that is labeled limiter. i press it, it starts to open and then i press it again to stop it where it shoulds stop. then i return it back down. but the memory doesnt stay and it goes too high when ever i try to open the door normally. Am i using the limiter wrong?

  • @DDMGarageDoors

    @DDMGarageDoors

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi videoviper1! It sounds like you were using the limiter button properly, because it should be to set the upper and lower limits of travel so that you have your door set as to how high it can go in opening, and how low it can go in closing. You may need to replace something in the internal side of things of the opener; if its memory is gone, it may need a new circuit board, limit switch, or limit worm gear. Unfortunately, we do not sell parts for this opener, so our experience and assistance is limited in this area.

    Hi ALIEN CHASER! It sounds like it's likely something with your photo eyes. They may be slightly out of alignment and trying to let you know, or something could come in the way of their sight when you open/close the door.

You'll probably need one of the conversion kits available at ddmgaragedoors.com/parts/torsion_spring_hardware.html, a shaft from ddmgaragedoors.com/parts/shafts_couplers.html, and one or two of our springs from ddmgaragedoors.com/springs/standard-torsion-springs.php#database. • @DDMGarageDoors

    Hi Sirlee Outdoorsmen! It could be for a number of reasons; your springs could be too strong for the door or they could be wound up too many times if they are the correct springs for the door. You should wind your springs 30 quarter turns (7.5 full turns) if the door is a 7' tall door, and 34 quarter turns if the door is 8' tall. This also may give you some helpful information as well: ddmgaragedoors.com/blog/2015/11/03/a-balanced-garage-door/

    Hi lifeisgood070! The force adjustment knobs should be located close to your travel limits. They will be similar in that they will have two knobs as well (one for the door going up, and the other for when the door is going down). They may be on the other side of the opener, or on the same side as the travel limits, depending on the model.
