Hey, nice video, but do you know of a way to hide the layer with the morph? The layer just gets a pink hue and is irresponsive to any change:/

Hi! thank you very much for the tutorial. I´ve followed the steps, but I get an error "Failed to load the renderdoc module" Does Anyone else have this issue and could help me out? Do I also have to be careful which Blender version I use? I use the latest one 3.1.2

Thanks for watching. In more recent months I have been experiencing a different problem where RenderDoc is failing to connect properly to Google Maps on Chrome. I have a fear that Google patched whatever exploit this methodology used whether they intended to stop this or it was an accidental change to the code in Google Maps the somehow affected this. I haven’t had time to figure out how to fix it yet since my project load lately has been enormous. The latest Blender version should be fine.

@@joelrea3780 agreed! I would actually prefer if Graphisoft Archicad could just have a direct import as an add-on subscription through Google Maps API. I think a lot of architects would gladly pay for that service if the higher resolution satellite imagery is made available through that subscription.

It's SIMPLE. You don't need to do a lot of calculations. The scale factor you should use is 100

Unfortunately, this same error started happening to me too. I wonder if Google modified their chrome software and broke this workflow.

Hi, is this process still working? When I click ok on the tap with the number in chrome after tapping it in Renderdoc, the tap with the capture option in Renderdoc disappears. How can I fix this problem? Thanks

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get this method to work recently. It is my theory that whatever exploit this method used, Google must have patched in a way that blocks it.

Any other methods that don’t have render doc? render doc never works on my pc and I have been trying every now and then for a year

Yes, unfortunately RenderDoc can be fickle. Maybe try different builds of RenderDoc?

How did you include texture in the .dae file?

It's been a while since this methodology is no longer working for me. I'm hoping to do another video soon to show how to achieve this same function but with greater ease and reliability.

It unfortunately does not work except on the web version using the Chrome browser on Windows OS.

I recently tried the Google Earth desktop mode and discovered the desktop app does not use a compatible version of OpenGL for RenderDoc to be able to capture.

why is it giving a python traceback error when importing the file

It’s possible this method has been deprecated with a software patch. I don’t think Google is happy people are using the 3d data outside of their full control.
