I believe that" CAPTION" it depends on your country, because i live in Sweden still wanting of that CAPTION on my Reels. THANKS so much.

Technical/terminology note - "Closed Captions" are ones the viewer can turn on and off, like on broadcast TV. Turning the captions off is "closing" them, as implied by the term. Captions made into the video which can't be turned off are called "subtitles" and sometimes "open captions".

Do you mean the different font styles? You can tap through the options at the top of your screen before posting!

Just an FYI: a *lot* of people prefer cc placement to be at the bottom of your screen. Culturally we've been trained to use it there, but it also is because the action is almost always found middle and top of the screen.

This is very helpful! However, im unable to do custom colors for the captions, as it only gives me a set of colors to choose from instead of an eyedropper. Is there any reason why that is? 😮

You will have to tap the color wheel at the top of the screen in order to see the dropper!

❤ In The Netherlands the captions are in "bijschriften". 😮 After 1 year I found it! 😅

but where did you activated them? It's not when I press stickers on

I am not able to use to fingers to make my captions bigger and smaller and I only have 3noptions for ss display. You appear to have 4 or 5. Do you know why that might be?

I'm not sure! Maybe different updates of the app? Try updating or reinstalling!

Hello Stephanie, following your advice exactly, I made heaps of reels with captions. Now the icon has disappeared. Any idea why? Any suggestion? I have updated my app a few times, hoping that this would solve it...Thanks

Thank you for your reply. Probably a glitch, but I have re-uploaded the app a number of times to no avail. I notice I get those glitches -I did not have reels for a while, when I travel, and post from somewhere else . Hopefully someone will know the answer to this. @@StephanieKase

Every time I try to caption a reel or a story it says "Transcribing Audio" and then goes to either "No captions found" or "Check your internet connection and try again." I cannot find any solutions as to why it won't auto caption my videos, do you know?

Could just be an IG glitch! Try quitting or uninstalling the app!

My Instagram doesn't offer the captions sticker. I have a business Instagram account. What can I do to get it to show up?

I'm not sure if it's only available to certain types of accounts or not! Might just need to get the latest update of IG!

Sorry!! Might be a bug. Try using a third party app like Descript!! That's what we use!

Say something new hun,this has been there for a while,plus not everyone has that feature yet.

The problem with your videos is that you don't add any arrows that show where your pointing on the video….not that much engaging but confusing

Nice video but holy crap this text editor is the worst I've ever seen. Even tiktok does it better. Tapping a word should pull it up in the video or at least have a back arrow so you can scrub through to get it right. No wonder captions on so many videos are so bad, it's so annoying to edit all the parts that it messes up. It doesn't understand half of what the video is saying. They also don't have an option for any of this on PC, you have to use the mobile app. So frustrating.
