It asks for credentials... How do i it.. printer is connected to basement wifi router and my cabin in on the 1 st floor ... Network is same but the routers are different can it be connected???

@alivapi1994 What is the make and model of your printer and how are you going about it? Are you using the hostname or the IP address?

@@techpba first of all thank you for your reply. - mine is main computer .. the printer is BROTHER DCP-L2540DW IT IS connected by usb to my computer Since the printer and my main system is in basement with other 15 computers... All computers are comnected to the printer by the wifi But the computer systems which are on above floor have different router but same ISP it does not connect over there... The printer is visible on the network but as soon as we try to connect to it... It shows the credentials are conflicting with the set... Will connecting an ethernet cable to the printer solve the issue?? Or how should i go about it??? Please help mw

However, if using the IP isn't working, find out the hostname of the printer on the printer screen (if any) and use that to connect to it. Let me know how that goes 🙂
I have not Ip on my printer. I can't find Ip adress
