I just spent a few weeks climbing through 500s in 3 minute blitz and reached 600s yesterday. You’d be surprised how many 500s can play like this. It’s just that they usually lose on time when they play accurately like that. Time control is the main issue for a lot of players in that rating pool.

I used to start symmetrically with both fianchettos, but could only win on time because it's a tough position for the opponent to break after castling. But they do break it. Always. Adding the assertive flank allows for attack opportunities later.

It felt like a complete game with thought processes for each phase. Loved it. Idk, I watched this and chess steps, and they made me want either more Win at Chess or longer low-elo games. I like the idea of hearing how one should think at each phase of the game given their elo, and what kind of thinking they could gradually outgrow.

For some reason there's a random trend that exists where if you say your favourite youtubers name 3 times you get pinned or sumthin i dunno. GothamChess, GothamChess, GothamChess. If this works then I'll be shocked (to death) If this dosent work I won't be shocked (to death)

I love your videos. I don't like watching you play moves "down to a 1300 level". It helps me more to see the best move, and why it's the best move. I'm learning, and you're entertaining. Thank you. Great content.

7:31 Gotham needs to realise that just because someone sees a backwards knight blunder move, the person isn't automatically 1500 Elo 🤦‍♂

that 500 player wasn't bad at all. But yeah, that's a little too much credit when it's literally just knowing how pieces move.

I really like you videos about the difference between the rating. It shows me what i need to work on at my level. I don't think you need to show yourself playing the whole game. Just play a few games against the rating you want to show and then show the review on the video. When you play the game you don't comment on your moves that well because of the time, and also if you play a few games you can actually choose which game you want to show and make sure it's a good game and not a game like the 500 that plays like 1800 XD
