    Thanks for posting this, well explained process. After watching, I have successfully replaced left and right axle seals on my 2014 Silverado with 210000 km.

    Clean the dry lock tite off the threads of the set bolt, and dry the hole for that set bolt with brakes cleaner of any oil film when you are ready to lock tite it on re-assembly.

    I would but it's not my truck and the guy who owned it traded it for a newer ram with air ride suspension. Sometime in the coming months he has me installing a bds 4" lift on it.

    Use c clamp on hub and other side of c clamp to where the brake caliper bold hole is on the axle and it will press the axle in far enough to remove/ re install c clip. Had same issue

    I suspect I have a very small seal leak on my 3500 srw would it better to replace or just keep an eye on fluid level

  • @BigFrogs4x4

    @BigFrogs4x4

    It will need replaced if it's getting anywhere near the brakes. Some states it won't pass inspection. But yes, keep an eye on the fluid level. Rebuilding a rear differential is very expensive.

    So I’m to the point of turning the driveshaft to release the pin and it will not turn more than a few inches in both directions..Any thoughts? Yes i’m in neutral

    Put transfer case in neutral if you can. If you have the calipers off don't hit the brake pedal

    It is hard to say. Depends on labor rate and if all goes well. No rust etc. Although I think the s10 is easier.

    If charging $70 per hr then 2-3 hr labor. Are they doing 1 side or both. 1 probably closer to 2 hr

    No need to put anything on the gasket. I reused mined after a fluid change it is fine.
