It's really annoying how many fans criticize Thrawn, arguing that he is just a copy of Tarkin. Although both characters have some similarities, they are really different. Thrawn is analytical while Tarkin is obstinated. In fact, the destruction of Alderaan can serve as an example. While Tarkin didn't wink at the time of giving the order (causing a massive joinment to the Rebel Alliance), Thrawn would have never done that knowing the consecuences.

Iqbal o death stat was actually really impractical. The empire could already destroy planets with orbital bombardment with their Star destroyers. It would have made more sense to invest and produce things like the tie defender that would better help them against the rebellion.

It seems like he was Thrawn apart at the Imperial Academy.

turning a foe into an asset is the best possible way to defeat them.

The more I learn about Thrawn, the more I admire his genius. He is a master tactician and Admiral. I am currently reading a hook about him-the 2-nd book of Timothy Zahn's collection about him, I am at it's end.

Legends Thrawn is ruthless unlike his canon counterpart, I just wish that if they are going to bring him back they retain some dark aspects to him.

Gotta say I like how the comic depicts the school commandant. It's very clear that he doesn't like Thrawn but he also loathes seeing his authority overriden by nepotism. That last panel shows that he definitely respects Thrawn's intellect even if he doesn't like how he goes about doing things.

Most thrawn fans have already seen this story a million times...I welcome the chance to see it again

Thrawn is very smart, and knows how to handle bullies well. Very good in strategizing his enemies, and not so arrogantly rush. Unlike the other officers who is always been fooled by tricks in the battlefield.

Thrawn went from a junior officer after graduation from the Imperial Academy to vice Admiral in the Imperial Navy almost overnight. He was in the same class with Biggs Darklighter who graduated to become assistant first mate. They sure promote people fast. Probably because the Imperial Navy was undergoing rapid expansion and they needed officers badly.

Not quite, the actual reasons were: 1. He already had decades of Military Experience in the Chiss Ascendancy. 2. He had the direct, personal blessing of The Emperor himself. 3. He won almost every Battle with exceptional results.

I love Thrawn's character. So pragmatic and in control of his emotions. The perfect general. His style reminds me of Hannibal though Hannibal himself was driven by hatred for Rome and a need for vengeance. I thought about Caesar at first but he, a pragmatist himself, was more prone to throw himself in a situation with out a plan as of yet and trust in his abilities to get himself out.

@@dragonborn7955 A little slow, to be true, but still enjoyable. Personally I believe he's putting more effort into actually describing Thrawn's thought processes, instead of just letting him know things just because. He seems to have refined his writing style.

Thrawn is one of my favorite characters in all Star Wars Universe. I’ve read all Timothy Zahn’s novels including the new one Acendancy:Chaos Rising. I hope the new Disney series don’t reduce his character to a mere villain. Neither a villain, not a hero, Thrawn is complex, enigmatic, brillant. His story within the Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy is great. Eli Vanto is an amzing character also.

Ive had some of my friends shitting on Thrawn simply because theyve only seen his actions as Grand Admiral. But then I should them this video and now I got them mixed between feeling a bit envious of him and still hating him 😂 Thrawn is ultimately intelligent, strategic, and formal with everything he encounters, from seeing a small insect surviving to Sabine shooting at him with his experimental starfighter and he casually shoots back with his blaster pistol not moving from his spot. Lastly, come on guys, he basically said hed try to get to Admiral rank as fast as he could and he did, which led his path to Grand Admiral. From being bullied by his fellow peers to commanding those very same peers. The big irony huh?

Not gonna lie he’s actually kind of nice even though he’s done some stuff he’s just doing it for the empire and if the empire one he would be a kind a nice guy

I bet Thrawn would be the sort of person to think for a second how beneficial it would be to eject prisoners into space
