Everyone looks forward to this while decreasing the water level of the rice which way back then it’s river was open to the ocean but after years the surf closes the river opening and accumulated water from the mountains! Ya, even if the beach was destroyed they were only expediting a natural phenomenon. Sooner or later, and probably sooner, that water would’ve made its way to the ocean on its own. But when people do they can control when and where it happens and prevent water from building up upstream and causing flooding further inland.

This is needed to sustain the ecosystem upstream. Large pools and lakes near the ocean cause flooding up the rivers and streams, so this process is almost like a pressure release for a dam. It keeps everything in check. The beach will be back to normal in a few days or a week. Once the water drains, the sand will reform into a beach line and the process will repeat every year.

The dunes in most places are typically heavily monitored and engineered to the best of our ability to tame nature, to prevent water erosion from destroying an entire beach. This sublet is literally in place to gather and be released instead of constantly adding driftto the dune. Forgive me I forget the name for the math involved something to do with plants being strategically placed to grow these alcoves and prevent the over angling of a beach or it's erosion.

There an actual reason behind it. And doesn't destroy beaches it actually does the opposite. It prevents destruction. Places where this is done is done on a regular basis. So tell me if the beach was destroyed how does the sand return? We use to do this in Maryland in calvary County where I used to live. There are houses that live one these lakes so when it floods either the houses are destroyed or the entire beach get washed away so to prevent either of these thing happening you drain the lake via a little trench in the sand. In doing so is lowers the water level and only washes a section of the beach away instead of the whole beach. The the next storm thatvrollsvthruborvwhenn the tide is strong the sand that was washed away get pushed back to the beach thus repeating the process over again. And who says u can have a Lil fun in the process. I've seen lots of communities try putting concrete sewer tunnels from the lake to the ocean but that never works because it get filled and clogged up with sand and it's alot more expensive and time consuming to clean out a tunnel every time it rains than it is to just make a trench with a 5 dollar shovel. Doing this stops land erosion, house flooding, washing out entire beaches and in some cases damaging reefs

I promise you... The dude posting this knows EXACTLY what's going on. He also knows the way to drive traffic to his channel is via engagement. People LOVE to comment about how much they know...even more so when they think they can look superior by "correcting" someone. Time to take the L and subscribe...he's the owner of this W.

Anyone who has been there knows this has been going on for years. The water has to be drained to make room for the rainwater that comes from up mauka. Jamie and his crew have been surfing this river break for years.

Wtf does this have up do with climate change lol And yeah the climate changes, but they're significantly exaggerating humanity's impact on the climate in order to usher in a form of global communism.

They created a home made Flow Rider which is pretty badass but the locals who use that beach are definitely gonna be super pissed and I don't blame em If it was my beach and I showed up to that I would be livid and looking for asses to beat 💯
