I just purchased the same tractor from my friend for $500.The fuel pump went bad 8 years ago. It sat in his yard under a tree that entire time. I and completely rebuilt the engine, fuel system, replaced the rear tires and brakes. After $2800 in new parts and lord knows how many hours I have a wonderful 2210d. I also have a 2610d Yanmar. I just feel in love with the older tractors and the powershift is a big part of that.

I have both styles. The regular one is easier getting on and off because you have to lift your leg a mile to get off the power shift version. You should always turn off the tractor just like this video shows so you don't catch your leg on shifter popping it in gear and run over yourself. I was told this by the older guy I bought it from. One of you mechanical guru's need to make a kit to move it to column shift. Nice video! Power shift is recommended especially with loader.

My Yanmar 2620 D has 15 forward and 5 reverse gears and is a power shift configuration. Great tractor !

i have an 87 226D which has the gears on the trans of course but the power shift lever is on the column

Just FYI, my 1977 Yanmar 2210D (4x4 loader) has the powershift transmission also. BUT it has 5 gears plus the 3 powershift gears, for a total of 15 forward speeds and 5 reverse speeds. Excellent bulletproof transmission and tractor.

Just picked up a 3110D today! Basically the same as yours but I’m confused, does it not have a brake? My understanding is the pedal on the right is an emergency brake and you stop by going in neutral? Great video!

Assuming you are not moving, do you need to push the clutch to go in reverse using the power shifter? or is the clutchless shifting only for moving between various forward gears?

Have you broke anything in the front diff while using loader? Curious if the front axles our weak like the 1300's

I wish they had one on a sub-compact

So that is the 186d. I just agree to purchase a 187d same transmission but mounted up on dash. Longer wheel base too. Same motors.

I wish my old Yanmar-made John Deere had this!

I had the JD comparable and the Yanmar version of the same tractor. I sold the JD just because of the powershifter. I used the funds from the sale of the JD and restored another Yanmar 2210d with the powershift. That transmission is so useful with a front loader I would not have anything else.

Where in the US can I buy the hydraulic joystick for the loader?

Anyone know where you fill the hydraulics for the loader on a 2310?

I have an 86 YM2610D. Can you skip gears, like go from 1 to 3 without hitting 2 first?

Hi! I just bought a fx18d. It was running fine but suddenly it wont move. Engine running smooth but no movement when shifting. Any clue?

when checking fluid levels in trans and front axle do you screw the cap all the way in or just place it there? i figure this would be the same as on mine but i cant find the info.

Might want to double check and find out for sure. On my YM2220D and several other models I have read about online the fluid level is checked resting on top and not threaded in. You’re probably running it low on hydraulic and gear oil if you’re threading it in. Hopefully not enough to damage anything unless you’re leaking oil somewhere such as a seal.

@@krstoner53 i had found out, any threaded dip stick just rests there like you said, the engine dipstick which pushes in does just that, push it in.

What model is that? I’ve found a 187d with 200ish hours for 6k is that to much?

maybe his is different than mine idk, but with mine the clutch is only needed to change gears on the trans or to engage pto, anything powershift related does not need the clutch. the powershift uses hydraulic pressure to put pressure on clutch packs, i heard its like an automatic trans but without the torque converter. mine is the 1987 226d, so it may be different.

You can toggle between forward and reverse without clutch if you pause in neutral and come to a stop.
