This video said nothing but the church offers nothing. Which is true. Biblical marriage has the answers but secular legal marriage and the church are so far gone it’s survival at this point. A lot of m g t o w I hear say don’t trust women. Which is good and to avoid women all together because of the laws against women. Gods intent is as for us to have large families clans and nations. So we have all lost.

Love and appreciate my father, but my entire family was basically the "happy wife, happy life" kind of people. I never got to see a woman get push back of any real caliber; everything revolved around my aunts, grandmother and mother. While it was a loving family overall, it still felt very strange throughout my teenage years as my awareness better developed. And now at 35, I fully understand, as the weak failure I allowed myself to become, that a man was meant to lead, and it was not natural for most of my family to let the women completely walk over them. It destroyed most of my cousins and I am still a virgin with no prospects for marriage despite wanting one. Yes, we are to blame for our own shortcomings, but I have to wonder how 15~ men all came to the same general problem from the same belief systems. We were raised to be feminine, and that is what we became. A bunch of feminine men who took too long to try and become more masculine, and now most of us get to die alone with the burden of needing to forgive out parents and family, and continue to love them despite not being equipped with any tools of real value to surviving the real world.

I call Mother's Day in the church "Worship Women Day." On that day, typically, not enough praise can be piled on women, including extolling the incredible virtues of single mothers. They are "heroes." Then come Father's Day, look out men, the hammer is coming down hard--it is time to "man up" or else. I have actually been told that if you extol fathers on Father's Day, it will hurt the feelings of many women in the congregation. This is termed "emotional blackmail."

What we view as "masculine" has completely changed in recent years. I was recently speaking with one of my fellow church elders, (a really good dad) about a recent visit to our town by Kyle Rittenhouse, (of Kenosha shooting fame). My friend was telling me about how he was trying to explain how "wrong" and "unwise" Kyle was for being in Kenosha that fateful night. He mocked Kyle for being too "gung ho" because he was involved in the local PD's "Explorer" program, since he wanted to be a first responder someday. He basically admitted that while Kyle was found innocent of m-rder, he was still basically the "bad guy" because he went to where the trouble was. And then I heard Kyle's interview; how after he had finished his day job as a lifeguard, he had traveled the 15 minutes to Kenosha, (where his dad lives), was LEGALLY carrying a rifle, (the only kind of firearm he could have to defend himself), was handing out water and administering first aid, even to the protesters...had cleaned the graffiti off of an elementary school and kept watch outside a business that had asked for his help in "keeping an eye". Then when attacked by violent, repeat-offending felons and child rapists, a shooting occurred. And I started thinking about things...this kid would've been the epitome of young men from about 1955 back. Yes, it was "unwise" for him to go to Kenosha. But my question was; "where were all the men, the police, the christians and the churches to defend their communities???" Why was it left for a young man to do what grown MEN should have been doing? And this kind of "kid" was EXACTLY what responded to the calls in our revolution and during WWII. Now, he's even mocked by other Christian men....

It was a strange thing, as an 8 year old, to watch a grown man's heart break on the front pew in a Wednesday night Bible study. You're spot on about how we were supposed to fix our broken relationships though. Like Boxer in Animal Farm, to put our shoulders to the weight, saying only, I must work harder. At 26 years old I am acutely aware of the lack of biblically nuanced masculinity. I am fortunate to live in an area that leans more blue collar, which is to say men who have a measure of many of the traits godly men need, but even in this area I see a lack of initiative in regard to the things of God (i.e. evangelism, raising up other men per Titus 2, prayer, teaching the word, etc). Unfortunately my background within my family doesn't leave me with a sense of what it should look like, but it does (at the very least) provide a clear picture of what it doesn't need to look like. We need 'be strong and courageous; stand up and act like men' kind of men. We need men who don't outsource the biblical training of their kids to youth programs. We need men who are actively pursuing the Great Commission. We need men who stand up, with courage, and act like men as God defines it. I'm not working with a full deck of cards myself but by the scriptures and what good things I can observe in men around me I am trying to piece together a correct, accurate, full-orbed masculinity that initiates, charges forth even in abject terror, says what needs to be said when it needs to be, does what is necessary when it is, and reflects godly masculinity. A brother in the faith from Trinidad has shared very similar sentiments. And as an aspiring missionary I feel strongly that if we don't get our national "house" in order as Christians we will be in dire straits before God as we have an unprecedented and unfathomable influence on other cultures.

One of the Pastor's of our Church started a mens bible study which I have been attending for about 4 years. Correct, it takes two to Salsa...I learned this practically as a Salsa dancer in the dance world. If there are 2 leaders then there is no dance; if there are 2 followers then there is no dance. Only when there is one lead and one follow does dance occur. Biblically, women from the time of the Fall in Genesis 3, DON'T WANT to follow men since Satan's rebellious plan all along was to flip God's order so that women balk at masculine men who lead. Feminism has been fueling that rebellious nature in women for decades. The women need just as much Biblical correcting as the men.

It is popular to talk about MGTOW as though it is some abandonment of responsibility. My experience is that it is more a rejection of the exactly what this clip talks about - the expectation that men can be held responsible for things that they are given no ability to do, and are given no reward for trying It is a rejection of the idea that men are serfs, expected to labour without ceasing and without compensation. Even talking about “servant leadership” in this context is a lie, unless we recognise that the ultimate servant-leader - Christ - is also LORD. Christ has authority. Christ is honoured. It is not a one-way transaction in which we get the benefits of Servant-Leadership without giving obedience and reverence in its turn.

I do not disagree with you, but the issue being discussed is how a man gets taught the principles behind such an idea. I love God, but how do I truly seek His kingdom above all else with no support from anyone what so ever and never being equipped with anything other than my own miserable failures? What does it mean to seek? How does one know if they are already seeking it or not? We are never promised an easy life, a life of luxury, a spouse, or anything for that matter. We are told that he will help us survive so that we can continue serving, but that obviously does not mean we will be kept alive for the sake of that; if we die we die. If we suffer as we serve, then we suffer as we serve. It isn't such an easy topic. One of the most important things we need to keep in mind, is how we can convey a selfless idea to children/teens in a way that promotes hope, rather than a dim outlook on their future. Unfortunately, what has happened in recent decades was the confusion of our youth and making everything seem dim; their minds were clouded and they were thrust into adulthood with little to no real guidance to help a believer weather the storm.

Anyone who thinks that “men struggle with interpersonal” relations, should read the Gospels with an eye to the number of times that Christ was angry - both with his opponents and his disciples. If a man is angry and impatient, you call that “inappropriate” and “poor personal skills”, yet Christ was NEVER inappropriate. These are very appropriate responses to sin and foolishness. The failure, here, is to recognise that men are not some form of broken women, and that the male style of communication is not somehow less..... but that as a society we have become so fragile and lily-livered that we can’t tell a woman that she is wrong, can’t tell foolish people that their feelings are “deceitful above all things and desperately wicked , or that their opinion is without value if it is not supported by evidence and logic.

Well spoken points Doug and Aaron - A lot of men, including myself, finally have something to say "Aha, that's precisely it!" to after watching this. I binged most of Man Rampant Season 1 early on but rehearing these snippets makes me realize just how on the pulse they are about this. As Aaron mentions in the video, men do tend to naturally struggle with the interpersonal stuff so identifying the exact feelings in the first place, that are associated with just what it is that unsettles us about the way of the church at the moment is draining and demoralizing. Men need tools, and good tools at that - We also can spot a good quality tool for a bad one a mile away, or at least, we find out quickly the hard way - to which it is no surprise the secular mens movements are far more agile and bold in trying new things and see what does/does not work for the men in their community, in real time. The church on the other hand, has no idea what to do with men of "raw material" and shoves them into servant leadership ministries centred around what the women want to do.

Challenging the wife’s rhetoric comes with admitting your wrongdoings and giving a vision. Men want peace without having goals. It never works. Worship and and cardboard game with limited screen time is part of our culture. Reading a lot and doing combat sports as well. A polemical approach to this problem will only serve to exacerbate it in the end. The basic problem is not "men" or "women". Both need to read the word of God and strive to apply what it says. If we do not understand the reason why God wants us to behave in various ways, we then operate in confusion and and angst. Feminism is essentially cancerous. So is unchecked male dominance. And, now I'm working through a theology grad program. But, no interest in me today. So, this may be a personal matter I need to get an answer to. But, I've never been able to make sense of it in my church in more recent years (which is, in part, why I have now left my church after 27 years since my comment/post). But, I gotta say, the vision of many churches is-individuals with recognized gifts may be called upon to lead, and we believe sin life should be considered in light of progress not perfection and the sufficiency of grace... but also we won't hire anyone who acknowledges they still have sins. Or something. Everyone in leadership across multiple churches and in ministries I follow are all "yeah, I USED to be this or that, I USED to struggle with this or that, but God has freed me long ago." Well, cool cool cool. But when asked, "So what's the sin you struggle with now?" - crickets - I mean, I'm fighting daily and failing more often than I'd ever like (it seems I'm "not equipped" to finally and completely conquer sin). Can I serve? Having present sin struggles is too much of a problem. Can ministers, though, all be as free from sin as churches' hiring policies suggest and the ministers themselves teach?

This is absolutely correct in regard to “tools”. The Church demands that men be responsible, but gives them little or no ability to affect outcomes. That is absolutely unjust. It is also counter to the God-given doctrine that the individual is responsible for their own actions, decisions and sins. What this clip does not appear to recognise is that the way that God has made men, and the things that we bring to the table are not honoured. That is not an “evolutionary” argument, but an argument based on the nature of creation. The unique needs and challenges that men face are not addressed. I see this a lot as a single, middle-aged man. There are specific ministries and messages for women, children, young adults and generic families, but I and those like me are bloody well invisible. Oh..... except when you want money from me.😡

Seems like what is being said is “Hey the world is doing this thing, and many young men are pursuing it. We need to be doing that thing.” Huh... Love your wife as Christ loved the church, (He emptied Himself of all entitlement in order to be a servant), Wash her in the word (Maybe we need to know the word, what it means, and to speak it with love, seasoned salt, and have a purpose to what you are saying). What I am getting at is quit looking to the world for how we are to behave as men and look to Christ. Be meek (have power under restraint) Who cares what these other men are saying, if its foundation is not the truth then it will lead to death and destruction. Listen to your wife, hear what she is saying and guide her to the way of the truth. Serve her and she will know that you love her and she will listen to you. That is why we listen to God because He served us.

Besides unwavering faith in God, the Biblical superpower that men have that could reverse this mess is to adhere to the standard of chastity outside of marriage for themselves, but also insist upon chastity for the women they marry. Young men must read the Bible several times in their youth to see what is actually said in it and have faith in it's wisdom, especially surrounding warnings against porneia and Jezebel. I argue this is the only way Western men can correct the cultural shift into chaos we are now witnessing. The good news is that this is within the power of each and every young man to do for themselves and for their society.

This is definitely a true problem, BUT Christian men should not use this as an excuse. Honestly, a lot of men are afraid of their wives. It's up to men to assume the role of leadership in their home - assert themselves as the dominant one. If they do that while also fulfilling Scripture to love their wives as Christ loves the church, then the wives follow their role of respecting their husband. I don't need legal backing for my wife to submit to me. I can handle that on my own with the authority of Scripture. In other words, men, you can't just whine about not having respect and no legal backing. You have the authority of scripture - ACT on it!

Not always the problem, no. However, a lot of them will tell you that without wealth/financial success that you will less than dirt, and that would be by their own hand. It is not taught in the Bible that we should seek wealth above all else (though making money is not a sin inherently of course). As mentioned in this video, they teach evolutionary ideas, but the end result is the same. If you don't dedicate your life to worldly things, then you die a failure. Where as the church overwhelmingly teaches that a man is the general problem in most cases, but does nothing to equip you to handle it, therefore making men a born "failure" by default.

Maybe he needs to deal with his issues instead of trying to paint all men with his broad brush. If you are not hearing the word preached from the pulpit then confront your pastor in love. If you see no change then find a church that preaches the gospel. We have a mens accountabity group that meets once a week and that has generated a congregation of strong men that model what the Bible says men should do.

I was going to listen to this but then this dude said, “we can’t boss our wives around.” and Doug says “we don’t have the backing of the world! What? Maybe that’s the problem in the first place. Looking to the world for approval instead of looking to Jesus as the example of a real man. The night He was betrayed He didn’t boss the disciples around, He got a bowl of water, a towel and washed their feet as an example of servanthood. Maybe the problem isn’t the church failing men, it’s men failing to wash their wives feet and laying down their lives for them. I’ve been married for 34 years and we had our usual issues of who does what etc. Within a decade, we got into a rhythm and the “ submission” never entered into our discussions ever again. We are not perfect, we can still argue, disagree, but my wife knows and I know, we want what the Lord wants and do not move until we agree together as a team. Men that keep mentioning “submissive wives” are those whose wife are not completely sure of his intent. The Bible says they are to become ONE. IT DOES NOT SAY, BECOME LIKE HIM, OR BECOME LIKE HER….NO! BECOME ONE! Forget the world and focus on making sure your wife is so certain that you will ‘ lay down your life for her’ that submission won’t even be an issue.

Couldn't finish this due to liquor bottle on table... is it a liquor bottle? I could be wrong, but even if it isn't it looks too much like one to be on screen. This could be a stumbling block to other believers gentlemen. Remember, what is good or okay for one isn't good or okay for all. The answer to all this nonsense is a real true relationship with The Almighty. That means spending time with Him and I don't mean 15 minutes before you rush off to work. I mean hours, days if needed truly seeking Him. Fasting (UHOH, that's a nasty word to most "Christians" - I struggle with this too, but I do it as He leads), praying and studying and requesting The Holy Spirit and presence of The Almighty, not demanding it like spoiled brat kids. That means if He wants you to quit your job, leave your family, be homeless, etc. DO IT! I've had to do all of the above and didn't want to, but what I want isn't nearly as important as what God wants, eh? And don't give me the "God wouldn't ask us to do that" malarkey. Read Matthew 19 (vs 29 specifically) and realize that motive is recognized here. I left everything and everyone besides my spouse because I was seeking The Almighty One True God - YAH. He was drawing me to Him and I heeded the call - EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HARD AND I DIDN'T WANT TO. What I DID want was HIM! He's worth everything I've had to leave behind. I'm still broke and unemployed, but God is constantly providing for me in ways I wouldn't have expected simply because I'm truly seeking Him. He's all I think about even though occasionally I still try to find work. I talk to Him about what bothers me. He understands and KNOWS I WANT TO WORK, but He also knows what's best for me so if He says "NO" to work then I have to obey even if I don't understand that. I think women don't follow men because they're too consumed with "doing it themselves" instead of setting an example of how to seek God and then doing what He says come hell or highwater. In order for women to submit and obey the man must SHOW how to do this by submitting and obeying God FIRST!!! THIS IS THE PECKING ORDER GENTS! Deal with it and let's get on with it, huh? I mean I know it's scary, but God WILL take care of us even if we don't have a job or home or even family. He promises this in His Word and even promises to restore anything wrongly taken away from us. Either He's faithful or He's a liar. Most "Christian" men today live like He's a liar. It's a shame and causing MANY to fall away - men, women AND children. All this can and will be fixed by true followers of God seeking Him with their WHOLE hearts. He'll direct and guide us, but we will be called to do some extreme things... Either we believe and trust Him or not, period. Proverbs 3 The truth is most people who profess that they're "Christians" talk one way and live another. This is a form of godliness but having NO POWER and The Almighty is growing weary of this lukewarmness. It is frustrating those of us who want the real deal and are left with remnants of the Sadducees and Pharisees at best... I know this isn't all of us, but it is definitely the bulk. When most churches closed down for Covid I knew the end was nearer... I haven't been back in a while. Faithlessness does NOT promote real church growth. The church isn't "buildings" the church is US and we better get with The Father and get all this worked out with Him asap because more than our marriages are at stake gentlemen... Can 2 walk together unless they be agreed?

Peterson is probably the closest thing to a godly opinion on masculinity as you're likely find, outside of canon press of course. What he says to the disillusioned man is "be responsible! Be diligent! Be resourceful! Be disciplined!" As opposed to the pick up artists who say "if society won't support you, manipulate and abuse them to get what you want". Peterson is at least adjacent to what Gods will for Man is, because he's using his eyes and his brain, and he can see what God has written in the revelation of creation. The pick up artist, on the other hand, is as much a son of belial as the feminist.

Here's a tool available to any man: FIND A REAL CHURCH! If the church leaders aren't acting like men (1 Timothy 3 sets standards) then how will you ever learn to be like that. You can't make up for the failings of your pastors and elders to teach what they don't themselves know. Nor can you learn what you aren't being taught. The conclusion we must reach is that most of these men aren't qualified to lead the church.

It is a reasonable conclusion, but it also begs the question as to why other men aren't standing up and putting their faith in God to do it themselves? If the majority of what is out there is feminized, then it is the feminine men taking up the mantle, while the masculine men are giving up.
