I just think if they merged too many things would have to change. Firstly if they still wanted the bat family they'd have to time jump The Batman which wouldn't be great for Part 1 and The Penguin show. Also they'd have to change Pattinsons personality as I know Batman's dark but he'd need to be way less emo in the DCU world

They could also do a sort of loose prequel thing like they did with the Two Batmen from comics back in the day. Where they had the same origin and early stories and eventually diverged from each other.

The Batman ended with Pattinson's Dark Knight seen in a more heroic light by the people of Gotham City, so the sequel will presumably start with that status quo. One strong possibility is that the sequel will show the Dark Knight facing off against Thomas Elliot, a.k.a. Hush

I hate when people say “Robert Pattinson’s Batman is too dark and his tone wouldn’t clash well with Superman”.. the juxtaposition of the two characters is the whole f*cking point! That was a big problem with BVS is that they were both moody and murderers.

DUDE! Smallville did brainiac so well other than the way he looks obviously. Due to low budget.

Let Superman be superman. If you can't accept that Clark would be a benevolent person with his abilities, you have no business making a Superman movie. That's where Zack Snyder messed up. He couldn't accept that someone could have that much power, and be a good person at the same time.

Zack Snyder doesn’t understand these characters, he never has. He’s like that kid you tell him not to play with something and he plays with it just to spite you, he’s that. He didn’t like that Superman and Batman can’t kill and that they’re who they are because despite what they’ve been through, they do not kill but he didn’t see that, he wanted them to kill just because they’re not meant to kill. Fuck Snyder, an awful director.

When Superman died The Eradicator told Clark that he actually died and was brought back only by luck and Kryptonian technology. Others stated that Superman had just fallen into a healing coma and could have been revived by sunlight (which he ironically received when Cadmus stole his body and experimented on it).

They just canceled the planned Arkham MAX show. They are now saying they won’t begin pre-production on “The Batman 2” until 2025. That’s not how Hollywood works. Andy Serkis (Alfred) said he hasn’t even seen a script for part 2, and doesn’t know any plans for it. You don’t cancel a streaming show tied into a franchise if you want to keep that “The Batman” universe going. My guess is, DC/WB is going all in on James Gunn and cancelling “The Batman” because they gave complete control to Gunn and he wants to do his own thing. He probably said to Matt Reeves “Either put your Batman in my universe or I’m cancelling your series.” And Reeves said he didn’t sign up for a shared universe. But under contract, he can’t legally say this publicly. They don’t want more bad press for “Superman:Legacy” due to firing Cavill. So, what you’ll find out is, right after Superman releases in theaters, you’ll get an official announcement that “The Batman 2” has been cancelled.

@@Le2_124 The Penguin was a prequel to the Batman and was already made before some of these decisions were made. Releasing it would just be a companion piece to “The Batman” and the Arkham show would have been a bridge to the sequel, so if they decided to cancel “The Batman 2”, it wouldn’t make sense to create that show and release it. It’s just a prediction. We shall see. Gunn is in charge of DC completely.

@@jasonavery Penguin ain't a prequel, Watch the trailer and you will see that it's takes place after The Batman. Gotham is flooded and all and plot is very reliant on the assassination of falcone in Batman. And Arkham was changed to be part of dcu yet it was still handled by matt reeves. I trust gunn, Loved most of his movies and I know he will listen to fans. Thou I due hope he fires the director of the flash as the director of Brave and the bold.

@@jasonavery The Penguin is a sequel to The Batman and James Gunn isn't cancelling The Batman 2. People just want to vilify James Gunn for no reason. James Gunn even gave Matt Reeves full creative control over The Batman Saga.

They already had a great superman. I don't understand why they couldn't continue. Include Black Adam, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, maybe recast Flash, Shazam, and Batman. Get a Green Lantern and Green Arrow. I don't understand why this is so difficult.

no reeve movies were bad. people forget superman murdered depowered zod (before director cut). just like burtons batman murdered villians. Superman better be strong, fast like comics. reeve superman was slow and weak.

James Gunn already confirmed that Lex Luthor is the main villain. Metallo could be an antagonist in the film though.

Man of steel is not dark it never was , yes the suit ain’t bright but you get tired of Reeves remastered sometimes you need to dare to do something new other even after David the next superman will still want to be another Reeves copy like make something new

Batman literally killed a bunch of henchman in the non-dream sequence.He blew up KGBeast. Also the concept of Superman film is him coexisting in a world full of superheroes where his ideals don’t match theirs. So it’s a new concept and not a copycat.
