How storytelling connects the world around us | Marion Watson | TEDxWCC

Storytelling has shaped the world we live in. From epic novels to memories shared with friends and family, to the foundations of our identities, stories are all around us. Marion Watson explores how storytelling can be discovered, appreciated, and consciously practiced to better understand and connect with the world and people around us. Marion Watson is a driven college student majoring in film and screenwriting. Raised in Northern Michigan, she has been writing and recording the stories she finds within nature and people alike from an early age. Studying languages and the arts, her interests have taken her as far as Hiroshima, Japan. She is devoted to encouraging connection and empathy through words and intends to inspire others to strive for the same. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
