My favorite part of about Sagas was how Future Gohan was missing an arm as normal, but since they didn't change his combos from adult Gohan he would still try punch with his empty sleeve and it wouldn't do anything

Actually the missing arm CAN do damage but it has an extremely tiny hitbox so you're likely not hitting with it 90% of the time

I always loved sagas, I didn't realize people thought so little of it. Me and my brothers would all take turns playing it alone and with each other. My favorite thing that ever happened was when I died and my brother was somehow able to drag my body around in game for the rest of the level. I could never replicate it but my body would just keep following him around even when he was flying

Interesting that Sub 30 is possible....and this is where I learn about other OoB things when I stopped running. I do have a theory about the Ginyu stage where Jeice is leaving the level causing the menus to glitch and end the level. Normally the other OoB ending tricks are you moving into them. If I remember correctly, AI enemies continue to move a bit even after ending the level or a menu. That might be why more and more menus appear. Also If Jeice can effect the ending of a stage via falling, makes me think that the ending stage trigger is actually waaaaay below the stage instead of just far away or a little below like the other ones. Finding it far below thou might be a bit tricky.

Sagas isn't the worst, just look up ultimate tenkaichi for 360 glorified rock paper scissors guessing game mashing buttons etc

I felt bad for 10 year old you in a way. Made up some badass custom invitations, had cake, ice cream, pizza, and bowling and topped it off with that “wet stinking garbage” of a game. Glad to hear you made the best of it! Some of my fondest memories as a kid came from our parents going to blockbuster and letting me and my friend pick a game to rent for the weekend, and half of them were dumpster fires, but we still made the best of them, even made our own mini games inside the game if it was that bad, just like you and your friends did!

I actually really liked this game as a kid, I remember I played it enough to unlock everything and it lets you use other charachters instead of the normal ones, like future trunks to beat radditz and stuff

Yeah the game sadly was kneecapped by not balancing the characters at all after the unlocks. Like, if I'm playing as Broly, I wanna be able to kill a Saibaman in one hit. But clearly the devs were not given any time to make the game good because Atari was going senile in its final.days.

I loved it as a kid. I found in Co-op you could choose the same character at the same time and it'd let you both be the same guy. Me and my friend did a replay of the game as Broly absolutely demolishing everyone for shits and giggles.

I remember as a kid that me and my brother accidentally found the out of bounds clip on the stage where you fight second form Frieza. The one where both players move in opposite directions and it causes you both to clip under the stage. The memory overflow where the flight trails and ki attacks lingered on the screen were super cool. We had no idea how to replicate it and couldn't find anything online at the time.

First: Congrats on the double sub 30, Thats insane! Second: What you did here was a public service to the whole community. When people see a World Record they usually don't care about second/third places, there's a lot of effort and a lot of history, a lot of hand pain and sweat. By portraying this in the video, you immortalized the entire history of all these runners, praising their work and all the passion and love they deposited in the game and in the countless hours of research. This is noble and must be recognized. Thank you for your support to the history of speedrunning!

This game was so much fun as a little kid. Being able to teleport while charging an attack made me feel like a genius.

I can't believe I did a 100% of this game when I was younger. I played it again last year and didn't even want to continue after the first level.

I was around the same age as you when I played it. But I had a lot of fun with it somehow. It never struck me as a "bad" game. I loved how you could replay the game as different characters once you beat the game. I loved beating up Frieza as LSSJ Broly all OP and everything lol

This was my favorite game as a kid (i was 7 and didn’t know games could be bad). It was the first game i ever beat. My friends would even invite me over just so I could beat the game for them. And once you finished it you’d unlock all these different characters to basically play it as a fighting game. I tried playing it as an adult a couple years ago and was shocked not only how bad it was but how clunky the controls were. I couldn’t even beat the first level! 😂

So the community doesn't allow you to play off an official console hardware but it DOES allow you to play on unofficial emulation that makes the game act differently!?!?!?!? That's such BS.

Hah, I remember the infinite combo when I rented this game with some friends. It was super easy to pick up in playing cause we found that letting the enemy have the chance to attack was...well, it kept us from focusing on the most important thing: beating them up. It was a bit of a game between us to see who could keep the combo going the longest, and who could catch the enemy in it. It was a game within the game to make the game more tolerable!

Excellent video quality and production, impressive stuff

I played this game so much as a kid on my xbox, and loved it. Replayed it over and over when I unlocked broly, but I realize how super flawed it is

I dont do speedruns but i find videos talking about them interesting W video pls keep it up

I remember being able to consistently infinite combo by inputing a walking command in between attacks, canceling the recovery lag animation and being able to make it more consistent, congrats on your run

I really liked playing sagas back in the day with my cousin. I also discovered by myself how to perform infinity combos

IAmAddison is a really great irl friend of mine! He showed me this run and I has a lot of fun learning how to do it. He doesn't run it anymore as far as I know but this was a great era. Love ya bud!

3:31 3 months later and I still stand by this claim.

I really enjoyed playing through sagas, but it was EXTREMELY short, I beat it in like 4 hours when I got it for Easter as a kid, exxcited for the game and beat it in one night, and there wasnt much replayability and content

This is well timed with Joueur du Grenier's videos on Dragon Ball games that came out recently. Never heard of most of these games before last month.

A strat i used to use that i tried to submit to gamefaqs (but got rejected) was where you uppercut an ememy, then teleport to him just before it reaches the height of his ascent, and grab him, but dont let go of the throw button combo. Doing so will make you spin with the enemy grappled and cause you to ascend way higher than you should be able to go. This will allow you to fly over barriers and skip all the way to the boss. The only catch is you couldnt skip to the boss like raditz because youd get a never ending cutscene and the match wouldnt begin. Instead i think you had to fly to the last barrier and clear it normally.

That memory leak glitch probably inspired the completely out of place dimension hopping fight in Broly 😂

The out of bounds against cell goes like this You have to jump and levitate high enough from the floor to be uppercutted by cell And then do a recovery at the highest point of cells uppercut Then you are high enough to get off the barrier that keeps you in the arena

My brother and I had this game on GameCube, but we didn’t have a memory card so we couldn’t save our game. We would wake up early on Saturdays to speedrun (before speedrunning was popular) the game so we could unlock all the characters and we would fight over who got to be Broly

The photo sensitive warning was unluckily placed and came a little late :D anyways great video and an amazing run

I remember keeping a save file of this game on PS2 just for the cinemas

fun story: when I got Sagas at Gamestop, the guy somehow accidentally put 2 games in the case. So I bought Sagas, and got Prince of Persia Warrior Within for free

I was that kid with a brother only a year younger who enjoyed the game well enough as a couch co-op romp.... it *is* an ass game but it holds a special place in my heart.

I actually loved this game as a kid. I remember one glitch happened on the fight against 19. I killed 19 with broly because I was replaying it and suddenly I couldn’t continue and the map went black. I could run around and doing your ki blast made the black background go crazy. Like a splash of different colors like a kaleidoscope. I couldn’t go past it so I reset after messing around a couple minutes. Never seen anyone else talk about it before

So the funny thing about games like these, is that when they go undiscovered, and only when someone lays partial road work, the flock of 'the first ever" usually emerges. Basically competition is what drives the discovery of exploits.

5:30(ish) - the original title of this game was "Dragon Ball Z: All of the Sagas Except Buu" but it wouldnt fit on the box so it was shortened...

looking up recipe for fried chicken the recipe: "when i was young, i loved dragon ball z, and the games. it wasnt long before i was dreaming of becoming a super saiyan myself"

Wew lad, Sagas...I loved the concept of it but man it was jank. I experienced a large variety of glitches and bugs, but my favorite was after defeating Cell and the game never proceeding to the next part. I just flew around endlessly around the arena with Gohan. The very limited time as a super saiyan was remedied with this glitch :^)

I remember using the Boulder glitch during the jeice and burter fight to skip to ginyu

I had this when I was younger and the only thing I remember is how cheap the cell fight was I was great at games for a kid but that fight had me frustrated forever

Growing up we didn't have alot of money so me and my brother would put our birthday money together to buy new games. We bought sagas Saturday night and beat it before we left for church on Sunday morning. The only reason it took that long was because it Recoome got stuck and fell into the water on his boss battle and crashed the game.

No matter how meh the combat is, the music still sticks in the back of my mind

i remember i bought sagas full price too and was excited reading the box and it was so disappointing. still finished it a few times

That memory leak glitch yeah i discovered on accident years ago and was never able to reproduce it no one ever believed me it was posible And i actually discovered it in those same bushes where you found the clip, i was going for the dragón ball the camera got a little stupid and made me fall into the bushes and before i knew what was happening i was under the map getting duplicated, this completly by accident like 15 years ago

I loved this game so much growing up. every intro to the sagas hyped me up so much to finish each and every mission. but now that I'm 25, I agree with how horrendous this gameplay was even at its time of release.

I wish I had friends like you growing up. I want to go to that birthday now 😅 I didn't get to grow up in the cool early 2000s I was there but it was not great as other people remeber lol

I'm surprised I haven't heard of the gba game or the game or sagas until now. I was really into dbz back in the day as well, and owned a gba, PS2, and Xbox so it's a wander these weren't in my library.

Yep this game released when I was 13. Bought it at release for full price. I remember beating it in one day and getting my first disappointment from GameStop when I asked what it would trade for after one day of use and they said “$17”. I’m 30 now and still salty.

Now the real fun in Saga begins when you unlock Broly.

this game was so glitchy it was a masterpiece. I remember fighting jace and berter and when it was jayces turn in the fight, i hit berter somehow and it skipped me all the way to the end of the ginyu saga after defeating captain Ginyu.

I actually loved this game when I was a kid after I’d beat the game i went to play as broly to get my revenge on cell for being d**head when I had gohan I wouldn’t mind buying this game again .. if I can find the real copy anywhere
