#askmark I’m just about to start using a dry glove system on my drysuit. The gloves I have fit me but they are reasonably snug when I have my thermal glove on. How snug should dry gloves be? Will it cause pinching or be uncomfortable with pressure underwater?

#ASKMARK I'm only basic open water certified, but that seems to cover most dive sites in the Florida emerald coast. Since I have not gone in over 15 years, is adding enriched air enough for me not to be a restriction on the other divers? I've been doing the naui free online courses as a refresher. And plan a few lake dives for practice before trying any wrecks.

#askmark Hi Mark, we’re huge fans of your Videos. Diving an Aqualung Dimension Wing Jacket today, I plan to move on to my very first Backplate & Wing Setup. single-tank recreational diving only. My question is: Why would I choose a light carbon or aluminium backplate over a steel one, ending up with even more extra weights to the belt for trim?
Would - position wise - a steel backplate even help with horizontal balance?
Thanks
Flo

About a week ago I asked for video about adjusting the harness and backplate. In the meantime I found the ones you already made in the past. Thanks for them :)

I strongly advice a Scuba Review Course when getting back to diving after a long time. Once I dived with a guy who said he dived for 20 years - not mentioning he hadn’t submerged in the last 15. It was a really easy shallow dive, but we had to pick him from the surface every couple of minutes.

Are those Marigold drygloves you're using?

#askmark; Hi Mark; does 5+2=7? With words, if you layer a thermocline/lavacore etc with a 5 mm wetsuit, do you get the same exposure protection as with a 7 mm semi-dry? Thanks!

@ask mark when was it we decided ocean diving is cave diving, regarding diver position in the water?

The skydive position doesn't come from cave diving but from general technical diving. It's considered a very stable position that has benefits in open water. It keeps you from touching corals or the bottom or the wreck, prevents kicking up silt in wrecks or sandy bottoms, reduces your cross section for streamline, etc.
