It's crazy how far speedruns have come. Just the other day I was watching Josh's video on his 6 hour 2013 WR run, and I remember watching that video back in 2013 thinking it was the most mind boggling thing I have ever seen. This was so perfectly timed. I rewatched your old SA vid and then Petrus' run yesterday and wondered wtf happened in those few years. Run was almost unrecognisable for long stretches of the game. Incredible feat to get the game done under 3 hours. I wonder if sub 2 will ever be possible?

I remember speedruns being 3 hours 40 mins a second ago now they are 3 hours honestly it's amazing what the speedrunning community could do I have learned some strats myself to just save time while playing the SA story and also this is a very good video and it's very well done

There is a trick that I don't know if it has MUCH use in a speed run, but if you jump diagonally, you can jump higher AND skip the long animation if you do it correctly, try for yourself and u will get what I mean I played for quite a while on a server on MTA called FFS where we had a mode called RUN, where it was bike racing and running, and this diagonal jump was fundamental to get some WR

I'd argue my explanation is about as in-depth as you'll get, considering it's straight from the game's code

Just recently rewatched th WR progression video and asked about an addendum. I feel dumb for not re-checking your video feed first now.

Just a question I had after I watched this......If any mission can be skipped if the required amount of missions are done then can't one just do a short mission over and over again until it skips to end of the line part 3?? Or is it like divided into segments so that if doing this glitch again and again cause only a certain chain of missions related to that mission skip??

You can only skip missions in the same "chain" as the one you're duping, so not it's not possible. Furthermore as the video says, you can't mass-dupe missions aside from a very specific few circumstances

This is really cool but at the same time I've started to feel like NMG is the cooler category for this game nowadays as the skips are just a bit much lmao I draw the line at almost exploding the van in Outrider, and not at holding a phone call for most of San Fierro so you can skip two missions

I’ve came along because of the algorithm so I don’t know anything about your content, but if you speedrun yourself, I’d definitely watch “Speedrun highlights” if you make them, similar to content Joshimuz makes.

The LS dupe while finicky should of never allowed the 3rd party FPS buffer, at that point its a TAS. I get that it makes it frustrating without it. However in any case the adoption of different leader board category's should of been implemented, its no wonder that some speedrunners ditched running it altogether. Just because its a difficult strat and RNG heavy should never of played apart in the decision making over the rules. Plenty of games have extremely hard strats, to the point that they are some what unviable but thats where the great times come from, luck has and allways will be a big part of some aspects of speedrunning.

it's not really TAS. You could artificially lag your pc so much that the game drops to 3 fps anyway and thus get the same thing. This new rule makes it so that you are not putting your pc in any danger.

It is literally the definition, using a 3rd party software to lower the framrate to be able to have reaction time to get the inputs is damn near the same as playing the game at 10% speed so you can get better reaction times. Use of any 3rd party software to gain a upper hand makes it a TAS. @@Brassrain0su

You don't have to, as the mission is only completed once. The game just counts it as eight missions
