Also, it's the same event where he said that Powdinet will end the game early...in the remastered version no less... It's funny how when you think a game is completely broken, its pieces can also be broke again...GG. Can't wait for the futures update like possibly Toreno Skip or Riot X3.

This particular one is starting home invasion while pimping is running. The simple premise is starting mission A while mission B is running, passes mission A instantly.

I remember when the 10 min run dropped shit was insane 2017-2020 was the golden age of gta speed runs after a decade Sam Andreas gets broke I’m two, dark viper and friendly baron blow up then start a war with each other records were broke all the time and it mattered COVID seems to have taken the hype away somehow

Thanks for the video. Pretty insane trick. One thing that isn't clear to me is whether runners can just fail the mission and try should they not get the trick. And how lucky did the current WR get, i.e. how many 1/3s did they win?

I did watch thriving's run via youtube. There was a few mistakes made too (a crash during wu zi mu) if it wasn't for those mistakes maybe a sub 3:35 or something..........?

An optimised run is definitely in the 3:30s somewhere, yeah. Just depends on how long people want to grind and hope the stars align!

The duping is the same, this is just a method of getting an om0 call without the need for trucking/bloodbowl/8track etc

Deres a even more broken start, Dat makes u make like 30mins or less with luk In the start of mission, with the vigilante dupe and sum milliseconds luk and measure, u can literaly skip from rider to end fo the line part 3 (the part were u follow tempeny in white car)

Yeah, he requested them to be removed a while ago. They were only there due to them being WR, before finally being removed entirely.

Yeah Ben, but does this really "count" since there are a lot of new and major time saves. Technically it's not enough for a new category, but the 3:52 could not be beaten by anyone with the older strats that were used in that one. The newer ones even had some small optimizations as far as I've heard. I mean thriving is very talented for sure but I just don't know if those runs are comparable just because of the new strats that shave off a ton of time. But anyway nice video regardless.

what? of course it counts, he has a better time than lelreset did and that's now the new world record. ben at no point claimed that thriving was better than lelreset, just that he pulled off a very good and also lucky run. It's "technically not enough for a new category"? It is not at all, because there is no new mechanic at all, it's still same old duping being used, just in another way. we can't create a new category every time a new strat gets found.

I definitely believe that thriving was capable of getting the record regardless of new strats, but unfortunately the evolution of speedruns wait for no man. At the end of the day this is the fastest anyone has beaten San Andreas on the original version, so yes it does indeed "count". I'm sure thriving and others will be looking to improve this run ASAP though, it will just be a lot more difficult now.

Well, there are categories for that. I think this stuff is fascinating. These speedrunners probably know more about the game than the developers at this point and that's insanely impressive
