why are you using the one filament with the lowest heat deflection? PETG works fine as long as there is enough ventilation (radius) around the flame.

hi, i was actually doing some research while designing a stained glass candle holder and saw this video pop up. this was very illuminating (no pun intended)--i did consider a use case of a 3d printed candle holder being used to hold real candles, but since im using woodfill pla...yeahhhhh, not only would it deform, but itd go up in flames considerably easier. thanks for the video, this was super informative!!!

Hello! I've been 3D printing for a few years now and I just wanted to say that I absolutely agree with you. Safety first! Perhaps something to try is to print molds for casting tealight holders in concrete?

any reconmaations on a printer for making silicone molds, or either make the image into a hard mold for to start with ?

I never printed a candle holder for this specific reason but do you think the same would happen with SLA prints? They use UV to cure the resin so i wasn’t sure if theyre effected the same way.

I'm not sure, as I'm not into resin yet. I did a quick search and I'm not seeing anyone printing candle holders with resin. The electric tea lights are always a safer bet anyway.

@@stldenise I'll 100% be using electric lights for my candle holders. But, now that my semester has ended, I plan to do some tests with normal candles. I'll let you know about the results of my findings. Thanks for the speedy response! Have a happy holidays :)

I have a Nylon filament that needs 299 degrees. It is still not enough, I guess.
