How Russia-Ukraine War Is Expediting Multipolarity & Why US Is Wary Of China l George Yeo Explains

The US and its allies are determined to see a Ukrainian victory over Russia, but at what cost? Is the West unable to accept the realities of a multipolar world? Why is China not backing Russia openly? Will China choose to antagonise America over Taiwan? Is this the beginning of a new Cold War?
George Yeo, former foreign minister of Singapore explains the current geopolitical chaos and how superpowers may shape the future of the world.

The Taiwan issue is more than an emmotional issue. It is an existential threat to China if it becomes independent because it will be the final plug in the first island chain that will effectively sealed or contained China within the South China Sea. To exit to the Pacific , China will require to have permission to go through all the territorial waters from Korea, Japan, Taiwan (if it is independent) , Philippines and Singapore. The access to the Indian Ocean too will have similar hurdle plus that of Malaysia and Indonesian control of the Straits of Malacca. The othere reason is the proximity of Taiwan. The Taiwan straits is only about 200 km. One of Taiwan controlled island is only 6 Km from the Xiamen coast of China. If Taiwan, after gaining independence, opt into the western camp and have US bases on it then the first island chain of US bases , from Korea down to Japan and Philippines will have missiles that is only 15 to 30 minutes to China. So China will definitely go to war if US were to encourage Taiwan independence.

Do the existential needs of China trump the existential needs of Taiwan? Sure China would gain security in the annexation of Taiwan, but Taiwan loses it's existence and identity. Cannot Taiwan maintain it's independence if it was agreed upon that the building of US bases there would be interpreted as a direct act of aggression towards China?

How is american prescience in SCS helping to keep trade routes open? Trade routes in SCS and Malacca Straits have always been open, never blockaded. The implication is that China somehow will close the trade routes so vital to its own economy. That is nonsense. SCS and Straits of Malacca are vital to China but of very little significance to US. Hence it vital to China that these trade routes be open, not closed. In fact Obama's intention to pivot to Asia was to blockade these trade routes but the countries in SEA strongly opposed that idea and the pivot turned into a weekend cruise for USN. As for India being capable of being a pole by itself. The opportunity was lost when it was overtaken by China in economic terms. 30 years ago, the consensus of opinions was that China cannot overtake India because India had some advantages, eg English is very widely used, Judicial system bases on British common law, and an education system based on the British one. Unfortunately India has failed in all major sectors. More importantly, India is chaotic, its educational system is deteriorating, racial, religious, social and political violence happen daily all over the country. As a result there is a lack of national cohesion which is very important if you want to be a pillar. This idea of India being held up as a bulwark against China was started by US. Its MSM ceased all negative comments about India and instead you read only flattering commentaries about India, most of which are platitudes not based on reality.

The Three Principles of the People is a political philosophy developed by Sun Yat-sen as part of a philosophy to improve China made during the Republican Era. The three principles are often translated into and summarized as nationalism, democracy, and the livelihood of the people. Wikipedia Communism (from Latin communis, 'common, universal')[1][2] is a left-wing to far-left sociopolitical, philosophical, and economic ideology within the socialist movement,[1] whose goal is the creation of a communist society, a socioeconomic order centered around common ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange that allocates products to everyone in the society based on need. The eleven-month long war in Ukraine appears to have frightened Finland's residents. In a recent survey, most Finns opposed a major pro-NATO move. About half of Finland’s residents do not support the creation of a permanent NATO base on Finnish soil, according to results of a survey by a TV channel. The study shows 48% of respondents are against creating a military base and the deployment of a permanent NATO contingent in Finland. NATO should be renamed ASFP: the Alliance for Self Fulfilling NATO Exists to Solve Problems Created By Nato's Existence NATO's existence really does seem to be premised on the circular reasoning that without NATO there'd be nobody to protect the world from the consequences of NATO's actions. It goes out of its way to threaten powerful nations and then justifies its existence by their responses to those threats. It's a self-licking ice cream cone. And this is all happening as news comes out that European nations are beginning to notice they're bearing a lot more of the cost of Washington's proxy warfare in Ukraine than the US is, while the US reaps all the profits. Europe accuses US of profiting from war EU officials attack Joe Biden over sky-high gas prices, weapons sales and trade The fact is, if you look at it soberly, the country that is most profiting from this war is the U.S. because they are selling more gas and at higher prices, and because they are selling more weapons,Expanding Nato has the same efect because of compatibility of arms and tyhe US is the major manufacturers of arms when countries jion Nato they are armed by America . IT's a great business plan :creating wars creats demand for more weap. bettre still if you lose a few and leave your weapons behind you need to restock to face the threats that you have just created by arming your perceived enemies .ons Europe and European politicians are being totally foolish Is Washington still our ally or not?” The "geopolitical Commission" and official Brussels as a whole is apparently only learning now what critics have been saying since the beginning: America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests Ukraine has never really been about Ukraine, and hasn't even ultimately been about Russia. In the long run this standoff has always been about China. Can there be any doubt when American Generals admit this “This Ukraine conflict that we’re in right now, is just the warmup,” said US STRATCOM head Charles Richard at a naval conference earlier this month. “The BIG ONE against China is coming. The 'Russia Problem' has always been that it is impossible to confront China if China has Russia: it is not desirable to fight both superpowers at once. So as the long-term goal is to prevent to have a war with China, Russia first needs to be weakened." WHAT's REALLY IN IT FOR EUROPE Lyle Goldstein , visiting professor at Brown University says that in order to maintain its world economic dominant position ,the US supports Ukraine to wage a hybrid war against Russia THE PURPOSE IS TO HIT RUSSIA CONTAIN EUROPE ,KIDNAP ALLIES AND THREATEN CHINA This gives real meaning to Kissingger's remarks some time ago "To be an enemy of the US is dangerous : to be a friend is fatal" Ukraine and Ukrainians are acceptable causalities in this war SO TOO ARE EUROPEANS. India exists today only because of British India. It is not a natural nation. Natural nations can revert to names that attest to their own authentic origins. So Sri Lanka supplants Ceylon, Myanmar is the proud name in place of Burma. Even Bangladesh flag flies gloriously over what was East Pakistan. But India? Without father England who ran away exhausted by WW2, there's no India an illegitimate empire put together by England with lands stolen from various peoples. There is simply no legitimate name to fall back on. And we avariciously cling to borders and territories stolen by England as our own. So present-day "India" is essentially a copy of the illegitimate British Empire. I may not wish to speak for others like the Kashmir people or the Sikhs or the Mongoloids in the north. But Tamil Nadu certainly deserves our own nationhood. We had been a sovereign nation for thousands of years with our own dravidian language and history before British colonial rulers came to upend the natural order. When we eventually achieve independence, we will within 10 years rank within the league of successful East Asian nations like Korea, Japan or China.

@17:15, George Yeo mentions that it should be 55-45 in favor of India, using the rationale that since India lost the 62 war and because India is weaker, both back then and now, china should make even more concessions. That's his point right? Lol. How is that even supposed to work? The winner and stronger side is supposed to make concessions because the loser can't get over their loss and weakness? Bahahaha. Normally Mr Yeo is very logical and rational. But it seems he has given that away in favor of bias towards china, thinking china is/can/should be the bigger man or something and give up that 5-10%, or at least that's my assumption based on what he said.. Sorry but that's not how it works, like ever. China had already given up land in 62 war, after they one sidedly won, then unilaterally declared peace and ceasefire, and withdrew back to the original LOC when they could have kept marching to Delhi if they wanted. Based on my previous research, overall in terms of land gained/lost, china ended up with LESS land than they had controlled even BEFORE the war started.. so overall, china had already made the ultimate concession and lost land even back then, let alone now. Now even after all the above concessions from china who successfully defended against an Indian invasion(Nehru's forward policy where they set up 100+ military outposts inside territory which was considered china even by Indian claims, was very much an invasion by any definition of from any outside, independent analyst), India still wants more concessions from china, who had already given the ultimate concessions back in 62 when they had no need to whatsoever? This is why china is angry. China had given indian an inch, and now they are asking for a mile. If china gives them that, then tomorrow they will ask for 100miles. It won't stop. India likes to portray and pretends it is a peaceful country but it is in regular nonstop clashes and conflict with basically every single one if it's neighbors, including 2 nuclear countries, china and Pakistan. This never stops and clashes happen every month, week and even every day. That is not as peaceful country or civilization. Instead it is china who has not had a war in 42+ years or even fired a bullet. It has resolved all it's border issues diplomatically, with basically only India left in terms of land borders. So while china has like 18 countries it borders by land(most in the world along with Russia I believe), it has settled all of them peacefully with diplomacy and dialogue, while India not only has not, but continues to have regular fierce clashes where all sides continue to lose their lives. If it wasn't for china who organized deals to not use any guns or heavier weapons it would probably be even worse, like India and Pakistan. India only negotiated with china because it knows china is bigger, richer, and stronger in every way shape or form, and thus no gun deal benefits India more. Otherwise they would be shooting and killing and dying every day like they are with Pakistan and in Kashmir. That basically means India is a bully, who's only prepared to use force when it has the upper hand. Compared with china, who even fought Russia when china even had no nukes, weapons or economy in the 50-60-70s, and also fought usa, sk, and 17 other UN countries combined in Korean war to protect china's northern borders and to stop an enemy from setting up military bases right on china's border. India would never do such things, it can only bully smaller, weaker, poorer nations, or at least that's what it looks like based on their history and past and present actions. India also still has its troops occupying other smaller neighbours and threatening and sanctioning them whenever India doesn't get it's way. Like they tried to do to Sri Lanka just because Sri Lanka gave a Chinese scientific ship permission to dock and resupply. Completely irrational, insecure, and downright petty. If china wanted to spy, they could do it even easier just sailing up and down India's coast just out of territorial range(20km), not docking in another countries port 500km away. Yes, I know that India has a domestic law which requires other countries warships to get indian permission before they can enter India's EEZ, but that is domestic law, not international law. Usa routinely sails warships into indian EEZ every year just to challenge that illegal claim and law. Just like usa does the same for Taiwan strait, south china seas, and everywhere else usa does FONOPS(freedom of navigation operations). There is nothing in international law which is stopping warships from sailing inside another countries 200KM EEZ, otherwise no country could sail inside Taiwan strait and many other straits.

By Western standard, Singapore is a "dictatorial" and have no "human rights". US has good excuse to foment chaos, instability by funding and supporting rebellion. Behind closed doors, US should have threatened Singapore: Either you be an ally and support US foreign policies or we can overthrow the PAP GOVERNMENT. How can we explain a small country like Singapore need to send troops in far away Iraq, Afghanistan or participate in sanctions against Russia.

Every democratic state is wary of any totalitarian/authoritarian state, because they have very different, contradictory ideas about role of individual person and his/her freedoms, state's role and its freedoms, communities role and its freedoms. China, Russia, North-Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Syria etc. have the policy of " Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Führer" (and One Party) - variations of Hitler, Stalin and Mao. Western democracies are giving more freedom to individuals and communities, tyrants oppress them politically. India is trying both? Lie, idiotism or über-geniality?

Yeo= Chinese shill The Ming Dynasty ruled China from 1368 through 1644. In 1622 the Ming Tianqi Emperor told the Dutch they should not establish an outpost within China territory and suggested the Dutch establish their fort on Taiwan. The Dutch also reported that there was no Chinese government presence on Taiwan in 1622. In 1683, the Kangxi Emperor said that “Taiwan is outside our empire and of no great consequence”. The only country who legally possessed Taiwan was Japan. The Qing government in Beijing signed the Treaty of Shimonoseki that Taiwan would be ceded to Japan in perpetuity as a result of the Sino-Japanese war. Taiwan has been recognized by China and the rest of the world as an independent kingdom or colony for the bulk of the last 700 years. When a "scholar" ignores accepted history, there is likely both a bias and an agenda at play.

His biased history study of Communism history book and national interests of Singapore can not speak out for Taiwanese, and Taiwan-China-USA issue. It's a useless interview to fool general audience. Crux channel needs to know there are lots of experts are watching Crux. Crux is a propaganda channel as my point of view. A media does not get into the deep cause and research, instead of just reporting superficially, partially and biased , a few times on daily basis. It's a job and money for them regardless the deep roots of research and analysis.
