Lewandowski never had a shot to compete with them earlier. Messi and Ronaldo started at top clubs at a very young age and had always a stellar support around them. That’s a recipe for succes and destiny for greatness. Lewy was never a leader at Bayern or Dortmund. He worked extremely hard to become a lethal weapon and a go to guy.

This was his first year where his pure goal scoring prowess was displayed.. 69 goals scored in 2013, out of which 53 were inside the pen box, 9 were pens, 5 Freekicks and 2 outside the box.. Cr7 had 15 assists in 2013 and Lewandowski has 13 assists in 2021.. I would say they are pretty much the same in terms of stats..

I think what makes Lewandowski so great is that he is extremely humble and down to earth despite being a brilliant and skillful football player. He is not partying or bragging or has a controversial personality in any kind of way. He is always respectful to everyone and he is still improving each year. I really wanted him to win ballon d'or in 2021 or in 2022.. let's hope he will get a chance one day.

i'm glad you're pointing this out! he has such a great work ethic. less drama, more work. though i wouldn't believe if he doesn't party (everyone does every once in a while!) at least he's not obnoxious about it. he seems like a lovely dude, he still comes to his former club's dressing room after being defeated and his former team-mates have nothing to say but great things about Lewy. i don't understand the hate he got for his tiktok dances, like dude's trying to be a hip dad and having some fun.

The ballon d'or is the icing on top the cake of what is already a good season but it's definitely not the barometer of a good player due to bias. It's already circulating that Messi will win it. As an Arsenal fan, I'll say this, Henry never got it in his heyday. So I wouldn't notch Lewa down because he didn't win it.

He's been one of my favourite players for years, he's literally the perfect striker. I rated him a lot in his Dortmund days, but when he went to Bayern he reached another level, which I didn't think was possible because he was already an elite striker but I'm so glad he did. He's now in the same breath as Ronaldo and Messi, which goes on to show how incredible of a player he is since joining Bayern. Tbh I was disappointed that France Football didn't given him the Balon D'or for last year, but given that Messi even said he deserved it for last year, I hope he does get what he rightfully deserves in due course .

Just give this guy the ballondor ….. he deserves it… one of the best strikers in history..

He’s absolutely maniacal. I only watched 2 games of his this season outside of the champions league and his first touch, finishing and gamesmanship is clearly unparalleled in football right now. Even Ronaldo and Messi are not performing at this level, and I think they are far and away the two greatest of all time. Again, this guy is insane.

When Lewandowski is on the pitch, he creates a lot of space for teammates. Lewandowski must be marked all the time, because he needs only 1-2 seconds to shoot and score. His consistency is also unreal having 1-2 bad games a season. (Occasionally, he needs 3-4 chances to score, lol.)

There is no words to describe how much of a good impact this guy has on my country's world recognition. What a superb player and a professional athletes he is. Visiting Thailand and seeing kids wearing his t shirt or any of the market traders mentioning Lewandowski as soon as you mention you are from Poland amazed me so much.
