Это потому что русские не хотят там жить при -50 в чуме, садить картоху в вечную мерзлоту и спасать русский язык там, а оставили этих бедных ненцев, правда без пенсий, нормальной работы и ЗП, но з гордой фразой " вы бдите традиции своих предков и живёте в великой россии ".

Even though Khanty people live in the North and have reindeers, they didn't celebrate Christmas until recently. And even then the form of Christmas is different from the Western world, because it is Russia...The Christmas is celebrated in January. There's no Santa Claus with red robe, instead, there is Ded Moroz and Snegurochka. It's all quite new, though, coming from Russian culture. Khanty themselves have not celebrated Christmas at all, and not even winter solistice. The thing is, many of these people live so far north, that part of them live near or above Arctic Circle, where Polar Night is present for few months, so celebrating one theoretical short day, which isn't even there, doesn't make sense. And then they also traditionally were pastoralists and hunters, for them solistice was never as important as for agricultural societies. Also, Khanty put all celebrations outside winter months, because earlier it was just simply too cold in Siberian winters (before the invention of warm cars etc.) for people to travel distances and gather together. And finally, and not least, Khanty have been non Christians, they didn't celebrate anything related to Jesus...Things are somewhat different nowadays, but still not the same as in the West.

I think these people are of Turkish origin. Christmas celebrations are a pagan Turkish tradition. It influenced Christianity. But unfortunately, in today's Turkey, Turks are under the influence of Islamist Arabs. They have declared war on Christmas celebrations.

Мы якутами не являемся, и тюрками тоже не являемся. Наш язык финно-угорский, много общих слов с коми, удмуртским языком. Для нас ближайший тюркский народ это сибирские татары. Мы с якутами даже не граничим, не являемся соседями. Якутия более, чем 1000 км от нашей земли.
