Actually that part was from a "documentary like" movie, I've seen it, it's about arrange marriage but it's a love story. So the woman was a paid actress and that part was supposed to be about the lack of privacy in the tent: it's the night she arrives in her new husband's family: her mother-in-law help her to bath and someone enter the tent so she's surprised and shy, it's to show how there is no intimacy for her. After that it's about how they need to be quiet on their wedding night because they all sleep in the same tent so... you know, with in laws, parents grandparents and kids around. Later in the movie, they fell in love. The movies says that even if they have the reputation of being very prude (no sex no cheating), they are actually very open about it since everyone hear others doing it but also that cheating is very common.

I'm glad somebody else in the comments noticed this! Unfortunately this is the attitude of patriarchal misogynistic domineering cultures. (not only this one, either!) Got to protect that uterus from imaginary dangers ! After all, the only use for a woman is to spit out kids. She's only worth as much as her uterus. If she can't have kids she gets thrown out into the snow to die because she's considered useless. Today people know better and don't think this way, but the fact that these people think this way shows you how backwards they still are. Sad.

Forgive me for not remembering if it was on your channel we were told that the reindeer will knock a female over to get at the urine for the minerals contained in it. ~ I remember being told that the Northern Aboriginal people of Canada collected urine to use in processing the skins of the caribou/reindeer. We were also taught that the Eskimos (now called Inuit) rubbed noses together instead of kissing with the lips. Probably false.
@patrushevs_stories
10 ай бұрын
but all you mentioned here is true. also the Eskimos actually used to greet each other by rubbing or touching their noses instead of kiss because the nose wath the only part exposed in this arctic cold.

Sad.

Chukchi people don't think women are fragile. It's the opposite: they search for a strong woman, who can work hard and do a lot of labor. It's not a life for weak people in general. Tall and strong ladies are preferred in their culture! 😁

1: it's not all they know: they can chose to live in the city if they want, they can have access to internet/tv. 2: it's a difficult but wonderful way to live, you may not like it but it's not "awful".
Probably false.

but all you mentioned here is true. also the Eskimos actually used to greet each other by rubbing or touching their noses instead of kiss because the nose wath the only part exposed in this arctic cold.
