I love this case studies series as well. I would like to suggest an industry, and an organization (you could choose any) for a case study. That being, the #Esports Industry. And the organization #SKGaming Or #Cloud9 #OpticGaming and several other options. I am trying to get my foot in the industry myself, and would love to see how a new industry forms and how you discuss it.

An episode that relates to F1, that’s just WINNING! I always wanted to know how Red Bull came into F1. Such a great marketing strategy to implement. Aligned to the red bull events, works so well. I need to do something similar with my business. I wonder what other brands are around us now, not well known that will be the next Redbull… That would be interesting doing an episode on a company that you think would be the next Uber / Google / Red Bull. Then in 2-3 years, look back at the video and see where they’re. Side note Gilles Simon (Engine consultant for Honda) has parted company with Honda today (6th March 2017). He was famous for his work on Ferrari engine during Michael Schumacher era. Makes me think, in relation to your videos, how many can continuously sustain being in the fortune 500. Will Red Bull still be here in 10 years. Looking forward to the next episode :)

Hey Tom! Love your content its really interesting to watch all these companies upbringing and falls! The really neat thing to remember is most of these companies didn't just pop up overnight and took years and decades to develop in what they are today or not here at all. The toys r us story was one that I really enjoyed and couldn't believe their shortfalls. I have a small electronics repair company in st Louis Missouri you should do a case study on.... Haha just kidding it would be a 30 second video. But hey from St Louis your being watched and enjoyed thanks for your hard work! -Paul Owner The Phone Doc, LLC

People build their own gliders and cardboard planes for fun and launch off a platform into the Yarra River. Been going on for decades.

Red Bull was in Europe for a decade before it launched in USA with no competitor reaction. Within five years of being in the USA it already had a major competitor. I don't know about anyone else here, but to me that says A LOT about business in the USA vs Europe.

I remember one time a cop pull him over because he saw him drinking it and thought my dad was taking alcohol in a small bottle in a car. He told them it was drink to boost his energy. The cop gave him a breathalyzer test and it was negative. LOL, At the end of the situation the cop ask my dad where he bought the drink because he want to try some.

How was a single drink company able to afford the sponsoring of these big events? They had 1 drink which wasn't that popular to begin with, where did all their money come from to sponsor and own so many events? They even own a successful F1 racing team, there's no way a single drink was generating that much money to pay for all this? Its always puzzled me particularly after watching your Nike/Jordan video. You mentioned how Adidas an established and successful company couldn't afford the Jordan shoe deal yet Red Bull a startup company is earning so much it can purchase F1 teams? Something doesn't add up! i

Outside investments, loans, and a fucking marvelous marketing team to say the least. Not to mention that the events they host (red bull in general; not the f1 team) usually have multiple sponsors alongside redbull, they usually broadcast it somewhere to make some money on them directly as well as increasing brand recognition. Generally speaking, "Extreme Sporting events" have a pretty niche and limited fan base compared with most regular sports. If Red Bull hosts an event for a particular extreme sport, there is a very good chance that people who participate and/or watch the extreme sport are going to think very highly of Red Bull just for supporting something they are interested in, further cementing brand loyalty. That doesn't even take the product itself in to consideration either, of which Red Bull has clearly done a good job producing And they bought the f1 team in 2005; in 2006, their operating income was 1.3 billion Euros; that is far from a startup...

They didn’t start with f1 he started by sponsoring like a sport in Austria where people from over the world do crazy things with planes and then he sponsored biking related sports. Also in Thailand muay Thai was heavily sponsored because it was in the rise globally before they started formula 1

In 1995, playing football, we were given a canned Gatorade Product called GatorLoad prior to a game. When I first tasted Red Bull, I swore it was a can of GatorLoad. I always wondered if there was a link. It was the same stuff.

+John Hickey Very interesting. Gatorade was made / invented at the University of Florida. That's where it gets the "Gator" in the brand name. Redbull was Thailand. Gatorade was first - I don't know about Gatorload. That came later - maybe a test product that was similar? Not sure - thanks - Tom.
