Regarding stat experience, 65535 isn't an arbitrary number but rather the highest number that can be expressed in 16 bits (2^16-1 - any higher requires 24 bits). It's also why you see 255 (8 bits) a lot in NES games.

Literally came down to type that. It’s so good. I love seeing late gen mons in gen 2 style.

These animations for later gen pokemon are just wonderful!

I immediately assume upon hearing shiny ball that people gave themselves immediate thousands of shiny balls to catch all the shiny mons.

fun fact, all of the fakemon legendaries except for varaneous had different names and designs that were changed quite late into development (Caeltur>Raiwato,Simirram>Fambaco,Leogris>Libabeel) ,but the only thing that is known about the old designs is that Caeltur was referred to as a flying turtle pokemon by a pallet patroller in a rom from right before the rombase was changed to crystal from gold

The sprites for the gen 3 and up pokemon are *fantastic*. Especially loved the gen 3 guys since I was a Hoenn kid. I've never actually played a Pokemon romhack or fangame before (unless you count randomizers), so I'll have to give this a try!

Crystal Clear is possible, by admission of the Developers, but the issue lies in the fact you are able to catch _all_ 251 Pokémon available in Gen 2 before the first Gym, including the Legendary Pokémon. They even made it possible to get Togepi before Gym 1 by snatching it from Elm’s Lab at the spot Silver is standing on before he steals his starter in the base game in one of the updates.

@@CrayolaBambaataa it doesn’t scale for the Wild Encounters, only for the Trainers, so it would 100% make it somewhat easier to grind (ie go straight to Mount Silver once you have something that can kill them) Actually, it might be worth it to chain for certain Pokémon, as I got a pretty high level chaining for Horsea.

There's a matchup game that gives you Rare Candies... The creator of this game must have played Dragon Warrior VII and thought "Hey, this stupid matching pairs game could be a great way to give free Rare Candies to the player! They can suffer like I did, mwa ha ha!" ^_^ *sees the Pachisi board which was the same format as the GBC version of Dragon Warrior III* Yeeeeah, this creator is a big Dragon Quest fan... XD

Pokémon Prism my beloved :D it was the first ROM hack I ever played, and the second Pokémon game I finished, technically first if you count beating Red as finishing Crystal rather than beating the Elite 4.

Will you ever consider doing a Professor Oak's Challenge on the FireRed Rom hack known as Pokemon Ultra Violet? It's basically just FireRed, but with all the Leaf Green exclusives added in. They also allow trade evolutions to evolve through level up; allowed Espeon and Umbreon to evolve via Sun and Moon Stone; threw in a few additional Johto Pokemon normally exclusive to Pokemon Emerald; and created a whole new island called 4-Point Isle, which houses every single Hoenn Pokemon in the game minus Azurill, Wynaut or Deoxys. They even added in additional events for the non-roaming Legendary Beasts, Celebi, and Mew to make them obtainable in-game, and made the Starters available in the wild in a scant few locations. Finally, choice Pokemon like the fossils and the Hitmon's can be picked without any discretion. The objective? To obtain all 386 Pokemon by the end of the game.

I never ever would do this XD you have my deepest respect for this cheallenge 👍

Probably my most favorite pokemon game for GBC of all time I know it's not really a rom hack but only way to play being lances son is so cool most iconic pokemon game for the gameboy color hands down

Rom I recommend if you want a challenge is Light Platinum. Handful of level 50+ evolutions, high level trainers for an early game section (first rival is around 14), limited money if you don't know some tricks, four safari zone areas, and only Poke balls available are Ultra Balls in the third town. This is all pre badge one.
