Just imagine how insane that must have been to the people of Galar. Local kid on their way to the Gym Challenge, proceeds to get lost for days, and comes back with a literal army of extremely rare and powerful pokemon and proceeds to destroy the challenge from that point at an absurd pace. Mean while you just see Leon chuckling saying "I'm in danger"

The fact you can get more pokémon than there were in the 4 first generations before the first gym is fucking crazy.

Just wanted to say you are one of the few Poketubers i can actually watch in one sitting. There are so many that just scream and shout and all that, and it gets exhausting after a little while. I kinda love how before milo you have a shit ton of legendaries. Just walking up to Milo and tossing out entei like it’s no big deal.

This game was already crazy and now its even more crazy after the dlc’s

Glad you're getting sponsors. I discovered you yesterday while on a really slow work shift and it's been great listening while at my 9-5. This isn't the professor oak challenge, but I've got a complete living dex in home and I'm currently re-doing the process from the gen 1 remakes all the way to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. So far I have the entire Kanto pokedex (including Mew) and I'm about a quarter of the way through Johto. Currently trying to max out the happiness of two eevees I have so I can get Espeon and Umbreon. Say what you will about modern pokemon, they made completing the dex so much easier.

This is always such an incredibly time consuming challenge. Awesome video.

Create badge barrier to prevent players from potentially catching extremely high level pokemon to steamroll the game with. Dlc immediately invalidates the badge rule and has the nerve to go "yeah you can't get calyrex unless you're the champion!" Sure different director for the dlc but they HAD to know about the badge rule to even consider implementing something to say "Rayquaza and Zygrade? Sure, Calyrex? No." Hopefully they give us more ways to bypass trade evos in future games, that's the one positive I can say about the games.

To be honest this professor oak challenge revealed that issue (to me at least...) of you can get certain legendary pokemon before you become champion but others like Calyrex you cannot so I don't think game freak anticipated this weird issue lol

NGL, a massive positive of the dex cut is that so many more Pokemon are available in this game. In other challenges, the final number is anywhere from like 400 to an abismal ~180

Super Mystery Dungeon is the only Mystery Dungeon game where I actually bothered to recruit everything because it doesn't involve randomly defeating stuff in the dungeons and it ties into getting arceus. Plus I actually love to the connection orb and it made all of the Pokemon feel more personal

A lot of people probably know this but, if you save right before going into the regieleki/regidrago and catch one of the regies you could put the regi into pokemon home, reload your save and catch the other regi

I'm planning on doing something like this myself but since you can catch so many evolved forms in these versions I'm only going to focus on catching everything available and not worry about evolving everything unless that's the only way to obtain it.

I can see SWSH can be hell including the DLCs to do this challenge but I think those games are cool & fun to play I can see people going to disagree with me I think SWSH has mixed reaction where people either hate or love those games 🤷‍♂️

I finished Swords Pokédex in like 40 hours of playtime. Did it in a week. It was painful.

A lot of the Pokemon were available in the DLC, and a lot of Pokemon are also obtainable in the Raid Dens! It's how I got a full Pokedex abusing the clock, raid dens, and the dlc, almost all without trading! Hard Pokemon to get were Gengar and Dusknoir, along with Accelgor and Escavalier, but all of those were available in the wild area and the Forest of Focus as static encounters The only Pokemon I hadn't gotten were version exclusives and extra legendaries, which I could trade for As of now the only Pokemon I still don't have are the Porygon line!

Here's a question, once you catch everything available in the adventures, would it have been faster going through the endless adventures due to the larger amount of dynite ore?

Can't wait to see this challenge descend into madness if GF happens to add the other, what, 250? missing Pokemon into the game.

Well there’s a level 100 magikarp and a level 100 gyarados, and then with BDSP there was a level 100 shadow Giratina

i imagine arctovish is in a state of existential dread as its speculated that due to the scientist's carelessness (thats actually a pun on her name), the pokemon's head is on wrong and the mouth is pointed up.

You could actually get Carkol slightly earlier than that by going out that side path near the beginning and coming back in.

That's why I'm transferring these guys to SwSh. not doing the POC though.

It works for the poc run, its definitely the smart thing to do but it hurts to see you use dynite ore for candies and armorite ore when its such a painful exchange rate, when the HA patch is so expensive and the other things are much easier to get

Hey it’s almost October 22nd in 2021 and there’s a gift shiny box legend coming out so add zacian to dex total (if your in shield) or zamazenta (if your in sword)

You can also find wild eeveeloutions in the wild area

Honestly I've been doing this since the first dlc came out and it sucks. I killed like two thousand wobbuffet in the first section because they were common and gave a lot of exp.

Loved the video, I only got into all these Pokémon challenge videos, like nuzlockes and Pokédex challenges, but you really made a lot of it harder than need be, there’s a lot of Pokémon you could sweep up in various areas rather than grinding dens for them. Especially the Dynamax adventures. I still don’t get why people shit on Sword/Shield that much, it’s not that bad at all, I man the story can be eh, I enjoyed it, but I get why people didn’t. The Dyanmaxing is pretty neat, not to mention it’s got a hell of a Dex with the dlc.

Would be interesting if someone did something like this challenge but for Scarlet and Violet Catching as many Pokemon as possible between Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy before getting a single badge (Gym, Team Star, or Titan)
