After years of people trying to convince me I was stupid through junior high school because I was dyslexic, poetry helped me make it to honors English. It pushed me beyond my limitations and now I have an MFA in creative writing. Poetry is the language of the soul.

Who invented poetry?
This is possibly the most engaging, most inspiring, and most moving TEDTalk I've ever seen. So powerful. So good.
We work hard on writing poetry but so few people read and buy poetry. But it's in our blood. 💛💫

Why not turn it into music? It would be a great combination.

@@rpishyao629 I believe that every poet can rap... But some choose to just recite or write
When it touches your soul and you see yourself through the words it's beautiful
There's nothing more powerful than words. Poetry takes it to another level.

Very true I love poetry
This is a genuine being with his heart fully out.
Making something from nothing is an act of pure optimism. From you, something new has taken shape, and that’s amazing! This week, express yourself and find solace and relaxation by adding creative pursuits to your self-care routine. Commit to this deliberate focus to prioritize your happiness and wellbeing.
damn. his words resonated in my soul. how i wish i would be in a room with poets and aspiring poets to read aloud our poetry!
Poetry is a tool that turns expression into communication to those who listen, and sounds like sweet noise to those who don't. A good way to state facts in front of an audience containing both listeners and haters, because how can you hate a message presented this way? Perhaps poetry is how you stay safe while saying what others hate. Although admittedly none of what he said was necessarily controversial, just something that should be talked about more. Good stuff.
Miss doing poetry 🙏🏾
Everything about this talk screams power! ⚡
An amazing inspiration✨🌟✨ "... They Sound Like Us..." 💗
If you want some one to be driven to introspection. Speak/write like a poet!
Just incredible.👍
Oh, man. That was inspiring!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Think poetry is not so much read through books anymore but finds a place in video / audio form or even through comet books.... but sure the outside poetry exists! I'm happy to find poetry again ❤ I feel it,,,snap snap

His poem is good, but still Shakespeare is far more better. Not to compare but poetry nowadays has different style. He is great for this era.
