    Wow I can totally relate to the struggle of sweating buckets trying to get a fitting on when you cut it with a cutter without filing it relentlessly 😂. Currently doing all the copper branches from the main floor to the second floor of a university science building and when a fitting slides on and off easily, it’s a joy! Thank you for all that you do, I’ve learned so much from you from watching your videos!

    I start my plumbing apprenticeship tomorrow with a service company. I did a lot of years as an electrician in the trade and they used to tell us to get a Fluke brand voltage tester. That brand is top of the line and I wouldn’t really trust the Klein brand testers although their hand tools are premium. I think they sell Fluke at the electrical supply houses.

    Codes here in north carolina require us to install a thermal expansion tank, and an electrical disconnect within 3 feet of the water heater. So then we have to get 2 inspections, electrical and plumbing, takes a lot of extra time as you can imagine! Nice work😊

    Anytime that you have a bottom fed heater in Florida, you are required to have a vacuum breaker by code. A valve on the hot side would also help from back siphonage. Nice job Kenny!

    @Kennymolotov Also what I forgot to tell you, is to install a 3/4" tee on the bottom if your water heater with a hose bibb. That way you can drain the heater next time you need to replace it.

    Yes, hot water tanks are a lot of fun! Did you carry that up the stairs by yourself? I have come accross a couple tanks that needed to be emptied and there was so much sludge, it took over an hour to drain the damn thing!

    @@Kennymolotov I use one made by Greenlee. It’s an older tester they don’t make it anymore but boy has it never failed me. My dad has one just like it that I grew up learning to use and wanted my own recently but was bummed to find out they stopped making it. But I found one at a local pawn shop for 15 bucks! Talk about lucky I could never find another one of those again I bet

    Hi Kenny, What would you say the best copper solder is that you'd use? Basically for house hold use 1/2" copper mainly Maybe I'm old school but I remember the higher lead content solder was always a good choice but these days maybe by code they've changed the solder chemistry especially for potable water lines? What's your opinion and thanks. D from Ontario

    Hey friend, lead is not a material we have in copper anymore. It’s toxic to the human body and Ontario avoids using it altogether. Hope this helps and thanks for the support!

    Hi Kenny, just wondering why you prefer to solder your pipework rather than press fittings? And in Canada are tempering valves required on domestic HW?

  • @Kennymolotov

    @Kennymolotov

    Hey Stuart, I love pressing but I still haven’t gotten myself a press tool, it’s in my future though! And no we are forced by code to use tempering valves, but we definitely do use them! Thanks for the questions!
