You know how, every time someone brings up the fact that Jason doesn't like chocolate, the episode cuts to a series of nested flashbacks consisting of Jason talking about how he doesn't like chocolate? You should start doing that every time someone brings up the fact that Brian doesn't like fruit or sweet things.

5:27 It shows a lot about Jason's ability as a teacher that he allowed the student the chance to justify their answer before telling them they were wrong when it didnt match the one he expected. Many professional instructors aren't so wise

Brian’s unequivocal joy when the Corvette roles up is such a mood
I love Brian's commitment to lore and worldbuilding.
The MR mythology is as deep as the sea... and just gets deeper every episode. I really hope I live to one day see a true Sampson and the Chooch miniseries.
The most excited "Are you a cop that's too old for this sh*t?!" You will ever see.
Some of my favorite episodes are when Brian goes in 100% blind. His glee is so fun to watch.
I love their commitment to continuity between bits, always makes me laugh. So crazy that I’ve been watching Brian since ScamSchool when I was a kid, glad to see him still being relevant.
Chooch Malone was my dad. Vietnam gunship pilot. Cop, detective....forced out due to corruption. Then he became a licensed PI. I was in 5th grade and helping my dad out on marital and insurance stake outs. Cool shit but it ruined granola bars, spam and Deet spray for the rest of my life. Well, maybe not spam.
I absolutely love how excited Brian is in this. Definitely a kid in a candy store look.
the chemistry between everyone in this episode is absolutely golden! well done gents
Not to steal the show, but... That Stingray is kick-a$$!
I missed Chooch, I'm glad to see he's still okay.
After watching Brian continue to stir his drink looooooong after Kory was done... He can make my drink any time! I like mine thoroughly mixed
I friggin' love these guys' commitment to the bit and absolute shocked delight in equal measure. 😂
I love the episodes where Brian has no idea what's happening
I just finished a whole bag of popcorn when Brian opened his lmao
I caught a pi by looking out my window and seeing a new car parked on the street for the past few days. He said he was a pi but he couldn't say who he was investigating, it's safe to say he's bad at his job.

I’m a P.I., and I’m very good at my job. Sometimes, as long I’m confident that I’m far enough away from my subject and it won’t get back to them, I’ll allow a nosey neighbor to know that I’m a P.I. just for the mind fuck effect. A lot of the time, you don’t need to have eyes on your subject’s residence and you’re just waiting for their vehicle to pass, so it really doesn’t matter. I still won’t tell who I’m watching though. Nosey neighbors who think they are entitled to know why someone is parked on a public street crack me up!
Me: Brian said this was one of the funniest episodes...I don't really see it... Jason: WHAT THE F*CK, JEFF?
I need a Chooch Malone, Snugglepuppy and Brushwood movie "The Dingleberries in search for the lost Sanson" movie!! hahaha! Jason was way too good portraing that character and if this was an ad for the book, itt was the best ad i ever watched! hahaha
Can Jason say “why can’t someone get me a picture of Spider Man!” In the voice he was using to tell Brian he was a bad PI
Pretty sure that bird-watchers and "I lost my dog" are the two most common covers for child abductors

When my last drone suffered a catastrophic crash I basically felt like that. Had to go around looking for the right GPS coordinates with a giant radio controller under one arm and finally found it half buried in a sandlot. XD
5:24 the genuine surprise on Jason's face is my favorite moment lol
To be honest the whole "I'm just bird watching for some emu's" might actually go a lot better with the right kind of paraphernalia 🤣
I am so stoked and honored that my artwork is still above the stove. I can't believe its still there!
Brian is a legitimate bartender
The game... Truly one of the best Michael Douglas movies.
Chooch: "I'm a one man Trope!"
This is one of my favourite episodes already
Loved this! Grant rolling up in his wife's drag racing car was just perfect.
I just love oh Bryan is always soooo excited. He keeps his child like exuberance alwayysssss
If you have to ask “you guys didn’t stake me out did you?” I think you may have gotten staked 💀😂😂😂
I absolutly live when Brian has no idea what us about to happen.
I love the commitment to the bit
I would argue that your two choices of excuses for your stakeout are flawed. Birdwatchers usually are very respectful of property to my knowledge, and they usually have guides and a lot more equipment than binoculars. As for losing your dog, you would be expected to be calling out for the dog as you walked around, which would draw attention to yourself. Under the assumption the person you are investigating is doing something other than cheating on a spouse, they would likely tell you to go away as soon as they had talked to you.
@rachellee2680
2 жыл бұрын
Valid points, but I think you could argue that a novice would walk around with a suspicious lack of equipment, especially if the person looks young and inexperienced. I used to birdwatch for fun a few years back and I'd rarely have much more than a small knapsack with water and snacks, maybe a birding guide, and binoculars. An honest-sounding apology on the spot could even excuse the lack of respect for property boundaries. (But this would definitely only fly as a one-time excuse.) As for the lost dog, you could specify that the dog is deaf, which would negate the need to be calling out for it. I do agree, though. Some of the excuses in the video could have had a bit more thought put into them but I'd chalk it up to keeping the episode concise.
@thewingedporpoise

well, you also have to be respectful if property and where you can or can't go as mentioned
I watch these completely by choice!
Just remember what Adam Savage learned on mythbusters... adult diapers are for leakage, not a full bladder. LMFAO
0:44 I really thought Jason was reaching for a hipflask at that point to sell the bit XD
Holy fuck, when did Grant get so... cool 😎
i wish you guys made a whole 15 minute video of you two creating a story out of scratch on camera
The lore for Samson and the chooch grows
I wish one day I can have a compound and pay people to just role play a half thought out PI game
The usual Modern Rogue awesomesauce!
Had a sudden realization because of Chooch's sunglasses. He never finds Samson, which drives him insane and causes him to create TMZ Cobra!
This is pure art.
I love this channel.
parking in employee parking gets them caught so often, they know whos supposed to be there
Plot twist Samson has amnesia and is Brian.
I think Brian was doing the first P in the footage (it's his right) hope those roaming surveyors didn't slip. Oh and good work avoiding arson
Scam School makes me wish I were Brian. Modern Rogue makes me wish I were Jason.
Ngl a cocktail meal box sounds like a cool idea I might check that out thanks modern rogue
"What the fuck, Jess?!" perhaps my favorite quote. lol
I love how in the recent Bumper Sticker episode they cover up Brian's license plate. But in this video they just clearly show it on screen.
What's worse than getting caught with paraphernalia in your car? Getting caught with a set of phernalia.
the modern rogue canon grows again...
i miss the old modern rogue :( this is still ok though. still a lot of respectable effort. old modern rogue felt like a home spinoff of mythbusters.

Brian's confusion and concern on, "you guys didn't take me out did ya?"
Love the car. The last of the classic Corvette styles.
Ooh! I want that Stingray Corvette!!! That is my dream car! :-)
Oh my days that is a beautiful corvette!
I think my brain forgot the existence of this channel...it's a shame since i think i really liked them
I would adore watching you guys build a treehouse
There are a stupid amount of grey trailblazers in my area. I pulled into the gas station yesterday and 5 of the 7 people there were driving a grey trailblazer (myself included)

A book called "killer candy", snacks, toys, cameras, binoculars, and weapons.... That's doesn't say "just stuff". What it says would certainly get deleted. Let's just say it rhymes with "mild papist".
Pure gold...
g/g... you guys are brilliant . keep it weird dudes

"Samson & the Chooch" totally needs to be a thing.
Now that's how you do a shameless plug :D even if this whole episode was to promote the book, this was goooood :D

This was great
I was waiting for Jason to ask for more pictures of spiderman the whole time
Add to the list adult diapers. They joke about it but it’s real even for snipers.
I think Mr Chooch Malone tried to sell me a timeshare earlier this year.

Now I kinda just wanna go there
Pre-Surveillance: Make sure you have all your tools. (camera, microphone, etc.) You want to blend in so dress accordingly as well as have a car and color that is easy to blend in and comfortable because your going to be sitting in it for hours. Know where the closest public bathrooms are so if/when needed you can use them quicky and get back to watching. Research. Get what is called a pattern of life. Where do they live? Where to they work? Where to they go to school? Favorite food places and hang out places? Hobbies? (You can normally find this kind of stuff on social media.) Also another good place to look for info is the public records websites. There's many out there, some are even free. Know entrances and exits. Its best to have at least 2-3 people on a surveillance team each on foot and/or car. (well skilled professionals like agencies have like 10 people all together so they can switch out if the orginal person/people get seen.) Edit: I forgot to say to check local laws.

another thing, always have a good logical and believable story to back you up in case someone starts asking questions.
I wish I could give being a PI a try. Seems like it could be an interesting career. The requirements make it out of reach though.
