I wouldn’t say manipulating and turning anakin to the dark side was EASY necessarily. The movies definitely make it seem that way but there’s time skips an we only get a handful of scenes of the two of them together obviously. Anakin also a lot of trauma such as being born a slave therefore abused and beat as a child, his mother dying in his arms a slave, etc. Some other Jedi such as Yoda would likely be able to cope with these events better due to their lack of attachment, fear, anger etc. but we know that as a child and later in life Anakin struggled composing his emotions naturally. I’m not sure if this is true but maybe since he was kind of a product of the dark side (no biological father, basically created by the force by the sith as far as I know) he naturally had these tendencies and some dark side inside him?

There would be no tragedy to Palpatine's life, in contrast to Arthur Fleck/Joker. Palpatine was just a young man/teenager who directly turned to the dark side, without being good/on the light side in the first place. He was trained in the dark arts from the very beginning. Besides, from what I've read, Palpatine as a young boy/young adult was already kinda psychopathic or lacking remorse to some stuff he did. So the idea of a Palpatine movie, similar to that of Joker, wouldn't make much sense. Palpatine/Darth Sidious wouldn't be considered a hero or a tragic figure as it is with Arthur Fleck. What must be said, though, is that Darth Sidious is the last true Dark Lord of the Sith. I would write a whole book about him. He has alot in common with the ancient Sith Lords (from the KotOR and the Old Republic games). I prefer Darth Sidious oger Darth Vader any day°

@@gabrielscarlat8592 I think they were on about how both a hypothetical palpatine film would be focused on a singular character as they become a villain like the joker, . It doesnt necessary mean he would be a sympathetic character, just the film like joker would focus on the villain as the protagonist, and you'd see this 'protagonist' commit more and more evil stuff as the film progresses, till eventually theyre the villain we knew they would become. Whilst you would see his lack of empathy and sociopathic tendacies at the beginning, he wouldn't have necessarily done anything evil. But as the film progresses, like in joker, u see what happens to the character to make them become the villain, and it would likely end with Palpatine murdering his father

Plaguies might be my favorite Star Wars novel... or at least in my top 5 anyway. Its fun watching Plaguies and Palpatine toying with all of these super powerful, super rich, and super well connected politicians, crime lords, and royal houses. These Republic elites are all arrogant and corrupt, and they think of themselves as being equal or greater to Palpatine and Plaguies. But when the Sith Lords are forced to reveal themselves, they quickly demonstrate that these rich politicians and lords were never their equal. It reminds me of that scene in Batman where Bane asks Dagget 'do you feel in charge?' Yeah, Palpatine and Plaguies basically do that a lot to the Coruscant elite and its always satisfying.

Irl psychopaths usually are relatively 2 dimensional. Usually, it just involves piss poor parenting causing them to turn evil. They don't need a long list of a tragic backstory or a dissention into madness. And there are a decent amount of psychopaths who were just born evil and did not have to have any forme of trauma to induce it. It's more realistic whenever the villain is just psychopathic because they were born that way, than it is for them to have some kind of weakness or soft side to them. Hitler was just a piece of crap. His only soft side to my knowledge was he liked heterosexual, cisgender, non-Jewish, white males. Which isn't really a redeeming quality. A lot of serial killers' "good sides" are just chopped up as being a means of staying incognito.

I wonder to what extent young Palpatine studied or enjoyed music. As revealed in "Revenge of the Sith", the only redeeming feature I could ever find in Palpatine is that as emperor of the galaxy, he did support the arts. This ended by him accidentally cutting a steel beam that crushed him; in other words, he killed himself in his hubris and could not possess anyone. Granted this dream was in lego style, and his ghost just kinda struggled to jump on (Luke?) then just kinda... walked away. Was very much so hoping that Pappy would've done something similar in Rise of Skywalker.
