This is why I sometimes have issues with people going on twitter and airing out their problems. Sometimes these problems will escalate if shared with the world and some are not mature enough or simply not prepared to handle the situation they put themselves in.

What can someone do to deal with criticism without digging their own grave? Especially if that person has a hard time just ignoring it

The problem is her responding to every piece of negativity? No, she had every right to air her frustrations with negativity, thats only human, we ALL do it. The way i see it is the problem is people kept piling it and piling it on over and over. Metaphorically, like annoying a dog by pushing it, it growls at you but you keep doing it over and over until it finally reaches breaking point, bites you, and then youre standing there in surprise it lashed out at you. People are arseholes. We see someone having a hard time, and then for our own pathetic amusement, we just push and push and push, like this video kept showing, this goes far beyond just "criticism". "Oh, Jayus put up another video? TIME TO MAKE ANOTHER ATTACK ON HER! YIPPIE!". I wouldnt be surprised that with her mental health declining, that shell end up unaliving herself, and then oh no suddenly everyone will start acting sad that they ushed her too far, and play the victim card when theyre the ones that got her to that point. To a point this is victim blaming. Im not defending her behaviour, especially in regards to that text, but this isnt all HER fault, and we need to acknowledge that.

Except how someone responds to this can get her into just as much trouble as not responding at all, take for example when she accidentally ghosted that one creator, how she responded to the backlash for that was entirely uncalled for, take how Nate responded to some kid trying to get under his skin, he kept it calm and professional if she had kept her own response to that calm and professional she might not have gotten anything much, much worse further down the line.

I always felt criticism was pointing out flaws or areas of improvement. Seems like people are confusing this with “advice”.

Well, what people are confusing are criticisms and insults or hate. Criticism actually needs to have some amount of constructive feedback to be considered in good faith, and you cannot just blast people for whatever they made you feel. You need an amount of introspection to be able to address the core of a problem, and replace the part that's a problem with something useful, instead of simply pointing out something negative.

I'm on Tik Tok all the time, but I never heard of her before the video. After seeing it, yeah she's so terrible but I've seen way worse

Well, the reason she was terrible, is because she's the type of person that really shouldn't get involved with the online world as a creator, because she cannot distinguish between feedback and hate, and responds to everything the same.

I can't really tell who is the villain in this story.

I thought Jayus was really pretty but kinda seeing how she is actually made me really not like her It's always baffling how 'apology' videos end with "i'm going to educate myself about what my problem is" or "I bought this book that kind of fits with what i'm trying to fix" it's just so disingenuous. Her "tips and advice" videos are also kinda stupid haha

Exactly. The only time I could see using the corner/reactor being smaller is when say Nate does solo reacts and he’s just watching and making small jokes/laughing, and then him going bigger when he’s talking at length while the video’s paused or he’s off doing something else/taking a call cause he’s the focus now, not the vid. That being said, I still watch Nate’s reaction with the format he has, it was just a potential idea, and yeah, when it’s more than 2 people, I want the vid smaller so can properly see the thing I mainly clicked on the video for.

We had someone stealing at work and surprise it was the guy shouting about how it had to be someone from the other shift in his defense someone from the other shift was also stealing but he got caught first and had to beg for our boss not to fire him the other person quit

We got a blacklisted users chat in one chat app where theres ppl who got cancelled, threatened or attacked by twitter hate mobs and extremist lgbt communities (most of us arent straight so idk really where the lgbt hate comes from)

I tihnk most reasonable people would accept that, and see that she's clearly not doing it anymore, and then move on. But with how the internet, tiktok and especially twitter is, they will never accept the narrative, that people are capable of change, and that you should let their actions decide if they have changed or not.

@@chauser400 Look, I am neither left nor right. in fact I am not a US citizen but I feel like bringing up people's political views is like the stupidest thing anyone can do because Politics are now less about what a country needs and more of people cheering for their sports team. it's not my fault you dedicated your life to a single political view when you could've had a rather open minded view on things and saw the good of both parties and taken those goods and made a whole new team that has the good and the bad of both and end this whole debate.

I'm willing to take criticism. That's what my Transformers Books are for. Once I've finished writing all 6 (Adding part 2 to the 4th book) I'm going to let all the feedback come my way. And then I'll fix my books. Yea I should have started with the 1st book. But I've gone too far now

I find it hilarious about that whole "Creators should be called out if copying other creator word for word" thing was there...Mainly because, how many of you know the Angry Video Game Nerd and his imitator The Irate Gamer?....Well it is funny because the Irate Gamer's fans are acting more and more dumber...They lash out at certain creators for acting angry or livid or even throwing a swear word because they find it triggering these days (Why KZread is the Asshole that it is today), well they love the Irate Gamer who is a "Less sweary" version and a lot less angrier version of the Nerd...Despite the very fact he was copying the Nerd's entire career note for note even down to the F Bombs!...Hell, Everything with Chris Bores the Irate Gamer is phony even down to the character name...He's not a gamer, and all of his anger is clearly just...well..fake...I mean, you can actually tell he's faking every octave that he throws....At least with the Nerd it all felt genuine despite him saying his character is the opposite of himself...if anything that's even more credit to James Rolfe as an actor...And it struck me as "WTF" when I saw an Irate Gamer vid on my recommendations, and the AVGN was a guest star....I mean, wtf!....This struck me even more weird when I knew that the Irate Gamer called out James Rolfe and put his and his friends careers on blast, even outright lying about things...If the Nerd was cast into an Irate Gamer video, James should have asked to be payed big time for all the shit Bores pulled...and I guarantee that whole "Inspired by the AVGN" tag was done under protest by Bores......I seriously wonder why the Irate Gamer was never featured in a SunnyV2 video because Chris Bores is a scumbag and deserves to lose his career....And clearly I went on a rant that had nothing to do with this video...Whenever someone brings up something like copycats and such, that triggers me to go on a long rant about this jerk...

I saw Papa Gus's whole series(I believe the last video he did was posted after this video) on Jayus and did call out the fact that she indeed was/is a lying, manipulative piece of garbage(don't know if she's changed now, but I don't care), but also like Sunny literally said in this video, Aunt Karen likely race-baited to get more attention. As they say, "Two wrongs don't make a right."
