    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I have just found my first batch of Lemon Blue Eye Bristlenose Eggs and it's all down to information I have taken from your videos, thank you so so much it's one of the best feelings I have had in fish keeping. Your videos are so full of great information and it's soooo easy to take in. I have gone from 1 tank to 25 tanks in the last year and its all down to inspiring people like yourself and Master Dean.

    Found my first batch of baby plecos when I was upgrading from a 20 gallon to a 30 gallon, but lost a couple in transit. Was suprised and happy. Then in January, i found an egg cluster being picked on by my loach and stuck them into a hatchery, only for 20 babies to hatch the next day. That was a week ago and when i was clean a giant log in my tank, i found my male sitting on yet another cluster of eggs. Guess I'm a fish breeder because my two dont want to stop. And I thought the platys were bad.

    I wasn’t breeding cause I thought both Albinos were male or female. Just learned that it was one of each. She laid eggs and he cared for them but after 5 to 6 days of caregiving…I came home to a turned over cave and he’s in the other cave but where’s the eggs?

    Awesome info, thank you for the video. I have one noob question for you or other BN pleco breeders here: Have you noticed females trying to breed(enter the males cave) and he drives them off? For those needing more details: I mave a trio(1M+2F) L181 and I just took out some grown babies from the cave and 4 days later the other female wants to breed, there was a brief moment of trapping but he realeased her soon enough. She keeps trying to get in but he drives her off, my thinking is even in trios the males take some time in between spawns? Let me know what your thoughts are. Thank you for reading the long comment!

    I got stroke last may 8,2023 at the age of 26. This hobby is the only thing that makes me going up until now. My left side is paralyzed and I can barely move. Hope one day I'll be able to afford this kind of pleco. I'm from Philippines and there's not a lot of pleco like this available in our country. If you want to send me some pleco fries even if its 3cm I'll be super happy to accept it with all my heart. Thank you so much!

    Hi... thank you for your sharp and crisp video. As you said... i am a person who is going through his first fish breeding phase ever. I have bought 3 pairs of ordinary BN Pleco. They were very tiny when i brought them. Now some of them have reached 2.5"+ size. Cand see the signs from which i can identify their sex. Is it too early for that?

    Mine only spawn once and never had a follow up spawn. It's been 6 months since the female laid eggs. Tank is 4x3 by 2.5 feet It has a lot of different caves,rocks, driftwoods and pots. Ph is 7-8.0 nitrate 5ppm, ammonia 0, nitrite 0 their tank mate is only cherry shrimps. I do water change every week or two no bright light with two sponge filter, water pump, overhead sump and wave maker. Their diet is zucchini, cucumber, pumpkin and I sometimes add bloodworms and carnivore pellets. 1 male albino bristlenose and 3 female long fin albino bristlenose. God dang I've been waiting for them to spawn since no one hatches from the first batch

    I bought 5 baby bristlenose plecos at a local pet store about 3-4 years ago and I’ve had babies over and over in the last couple of years. I haven’t sold any I just let nature take its course in my community tanks, and many babies have made it to maturity, to the point that I need to get rid of a bunch. My local stores aren’t really interested, is it difficult to sell them on the internet?

    Commons and albinos can be tough to sell (I was offered $0.25 each lol), which is why you want to breed the more rare super reds, green dragons, snow whites, longfins, etc

  • @portalmasterry6765
    @portalmasterry67652 жыл бұрын

    A higher protein diet will push females to be more gravid. My older breeding pair will drop 100+ babies in 1 clutch. Granted the pair is 6 years old and the female is huge at almost 5+" Also do you sell your long fin super reds somewhere? I need to restock after losing 5 this past holiday. Looks like I ended up with all males again.

    That could be an issue of having a higher kh. Sometimes if the plecos know that the water parameters wont allow for the fish to hatch correctly they will eat the eggs. However, if its a new pair its could just be because they are young, though I have found that to be rare.

  • @FoisyAquatics

    @FoisyAquatics

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not usually - if left alone, the father would continue watching them in the cave for 1, maybe 2 weeks tops before they leave the cave. And after that point, they are not getting any assistance from the parents. If I wait until they start leaving the cave, it becomes a big process to catch all the little fry as they scatter to every hiding spot within the tank
