Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this KZread channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Just amazing to watch! My wife and I consider ourselves "world travelers", but our experience is to lay out an itinerary, follow the schedule and end up back home. It's fantastic to watch you two catch a flight to "somewhere" and then decide to head out a week early "for better accommodations" as if moving across town. The world is your town! Just amazing.

@@ptrs559 Hey Mike. Yeah, definitely youth is a big part. But Nate has mastered the art of gaming the system through great smarts, (which they both have!), and hard work. His ability to plan on the fly gives them the opportunity, but it's their willingness to go for it that makes it all work! Young or older, that's something a lot of people don't have. I think Kara and Nate feel the whole world as their home now and that's been such a wonderful thing to watch develop over these years. 😀

Clint Atkinson true that! Wish we would have had some of those resources available to us when we were young and traveling the world. Sure we gamed the system but it was not possible to do it to the extent they do ( in the pre-internet age when you had to rely on airline reservation clerks and travel agents to enable your travel) Happy travels Clint.

Lol, yep, this is how not to travel :) You two are definitely blessed and protected as there was a dozen things that could have gone wrong. I once got strip searched in transit from China because the shoulder bag I got cheap in Beijing had explosives residue on it, Aargh! Anyway, can't wait to hear what's up in Vietnam and areas around. It's one of our next places to live in. Our friends Leon and Tash (YT) have given us loads of tips. Please try more Foodie stuff for us Foodies (aka: Mark Wiens) while your there. We love your taste reactions :) Blessings, James and Kim

Last time I flew into Tan Son Nhut it was Tan Son Nhut Airbase and was under a VC rocket attack. Our charter DC8 had to do what was called a "combat approach", where the plane stayed at a high altitude (7,000 feet) until about a mile from the end of the airport runway, then the pilot lowered the landing gear, full flaps and reversed a couple of the four engines and we dropped like a rock until we gently touched down on the end of the runway, and rolled off into a sandbagged hanger and we got off the plane and hunkered down in a bunker till the "all-clear" was sounded.. Oh and the city around the airport was called Saigon. This being 1970... Really fun to see what it looks like today... Love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!

A little fact about travelling with checked in baggage, a plane cannot legally take off with a bag in the hold of the person is not on the plane. So if you have a checked bag the person either needs to be on the plane or they need to pull the bag out of the hold which is a lot of hassle, so you usually have a little bit of breathing room if you have a checked in bag

It's amazing to think that just 10 years ago, printers were freaking everywhere. We had printers at home, pretty much all stores had them, and in Korea, PC Bangs were on every corner. Now, if you want hard copies it's one of a handful of Kinkos dispersed around the city, an airport lounge or a business center in a fancy shmancy hotel. It's equally amazing how nobody's been able to come up yet with a universal digital alternative to hard copies - or, if candidates for the same exist, how none have been adopted.
