Freaking love these throw backs to the Big Game! I've probably seen every episode of The Big Game like 3-4 times already, not counting going back to the really good ones and watching them 5-6 times. This was in my opinion the height of poker entertainment back in my era. Really glad PokerStars got these episodes sorted by seasons for easy watching, years and years later.

Thanks Jan. It's also a bit unfair to evaluate the game back then with knowledge from now. The knowledge from now simply wasn't available then. A lot of the boards I'm betting that I shouldn't have was absolutely normal back then.

@@LexVeldhuisTV That makes a lot of sense, computers have come a long way in games like these for better or worse. "Crazy style" wasn't meant in a negative way at all, just saying that you not being afraid to just put it all on the line in every hand makes this series a lot better than if you were only playing aces.
This is great content I really looking forward to the next I’ve followed you for almost 8 years now…Lex is just great

It's really awesome to see present Lex reflect on young and wild Lex. I recall a video of the WSOP where you bluff everyone, care to do one about that? And curious; what's the biggest pot you've ever won? Biggest one I've seen is the amazing hero call against Doyle.

Loving these small series lex so interesting to hear your opinions especially on big game because I loved watching this series. Just curious you said it was real money did you make profit or make a loss?
It is really difficult to critically analyze hands from back in the days when everyone played like a maniac, with yourself being one of the bigger maniacs as well. But you did so well in not trying to justify bad plays by your old self. Shows your mental strength.

mega interessant weer man
Hey Lex. Thanks for this new content it's brilliant. Maybe with the jack 3 2-barrel, once we get to the river go full animal and rip all in. Vanessa's range seems capped enough, most her nutted stuff is probably raising earlier. She winds up with a few better jacks we can bluff off and she also has a lot of weaker showdown value and missed draws that could blow us off our equity (can easy see 67s or a8 turning into bluff) and we can't call. We also are blocking Jx 2p combos which are some of the best calling hands she ends up with here. Pretty sick spot to end up in 😂

Hand is way too high up in my range to turn into a bluff. I still have 67, 78, 89, T9, A9, missed flushdraws, pocket 77 etc etc etc

I ve seen that you.give back to your community something which is a great thing to do. You by far the best there is and hope you ll keep up.
Vanessa was a sick player!
I think the fact that Daniel just passed you $100k in chips - despite the fact that it was your money and was a pre-arranged thing - is just kinda surreal. A lot of the high-stakes stuff is very interesting because the visuals of giant stacks of cash or chips worth more than a lot of people's houses can make it feel like a whole different world. The fact that Daniel casually passed you $100k in a quick across-the-table handoff only adds to the perception that poker pros have a different concept of money compared to ordinary mortals.
Did Lex play The Sherminator on American Pie????
First hand you both played well.

isn't it possible that Vanessa had some kind of live read preflop when she potraised with 88? You don't need blockers if you have a strong feeling that you take down the pot a lot. great video btw
Bro, the The Sixth Sense reference...with pockets 6s?? Did you just do that??
W video
On the second hand I don't get why Vanessa doesn't semi-bluff raise the turn?
'Raising with 8's is a really bad move that tricked me out of my money.'
Lex, do some videos on "where are they now" (Such as Vanessa, Seiver etc) and maybe a couple of videos whereby you win :P I never thought Vanessa as a good player, always felt she was fishing too much Seiver on the other hand always seemed like a level above everyone else Negreanu continues to be one of my favourite poker players
❤️ it!
I remember that. This Episode was in German Free TV... 66 was great Spot to re raise. I think the 5bet from Vanessa with 88 is terrible.

I love 2010 poker before anyone figured out how to play correctly!
3:20 Horrible flat on the river by Vanessa. With the 3 pairing your AA just counterfeited K4 and KQ the two most probable hands your opponent would have by betting the flop and turn strong. 34 and 44 are not likely because of the 3 pairing on the river and it being also a heads up pot the entire hand. In this situation being last to act I would be raising about pot or 3x on the river every time.
J3 and 95 if you would bet again on the river instead of checking. she would probably fold with 95. She could still re raise you. but i don't think. she would bluff that match with just 95 high card. But K is scary card for 3J. Maybe if you would check turn on J and start bet first when K comes on the river. you would won this one

I think the second hand , Vanessa really didnt play theoratically, she just played against the person, against you. Hence the stupid call preflop, flop and turn. If you bet the river, im 100% she would have raised all-in (she asked how much you had) I think she was one of the smartest players right? with a few uni degrees as well? I remember watching back in the days and i always thought she was an amaazing player
Also right on the flop with the K4, you where at 69% equity. Latest poker theory tells us that you are supposed do a dab at that moment. It's not in any charts, but it is known.

@@neokCS it was an honest question, most people don't like her. I wouldn't dare to call her a bad player or anything, but this video clearly doesn't help her cause. Sure she won all the hands, but saving the first hand, in which she did what most people would do (just call and see what develops with AA, which seems correct in this case imo) she played like a complete amateur. Hand 2 nothing at all she did made sense, but she got lucky Lex dug himself into a weird spot. Hand 3 was total nonsense from both, but she just had 88 vs 66, change Lex 66 for 99 story is totally different. Winning and playing good doesn't always come together, in fact sometimes you win thanks to playing bad and viceversa. In other videos, I've seen her play great poker, and also make some mistakes, like a normal person would.
