That's overly simplistic. Christians didn't persecute Jews at all times and all places. And Muslims didn't protect Jews and live in peace with them at all times and all places. But as a general rule Muslims treated Jews much better than Christians did. There is a mixed history on both sides but overall Muslims treated Jews better than Christians did.

SubhanAllah! I truly had goosebumps listening to the facts in this Khutba by Sheikh Yasir, SubhanAllah. I know that had any Christian land faced genocide, I know Muslims would have rushed to protect and save them like they saved the Jews from their many exterminations from Christians..... I know, because our Deen Islam and our Prophet peace be upon him, teach us how sacred life is, and to never ever kill any innocents whatsoever. In Islam, the very idea of genocide on any community is something they would never ever subscribe to, no matter what. Regarding Sheikh Yasir's mention of Shakespeare... Amazingly that thought had risen in me too, from these past 2 months of Palestine, as I recalled learning in Literature in school as a kid, about Shakespeare's plays - one such as "The Merchant of Venice"...and to this day I remain with the dehumanizing notion of Shakespeare's regarding Jews being misers, hard, betrayers, and a most unforgiving community who showed no mercy at all to others ...yes, Shakespeare does seems to have been a racist....but now in the present context he could very well say that he was right regarding the Jews, had he been alive.... And now they, the Jews, have turned Occupiers, Apartheid and Genocidal towards innocent and vulnerable Muslims.... SubhanAllah, I remain shaken with this profound Khutba...I hope at least a few truthful Jews get to watch this...

@@Bromos777 this is an undeniable fact, and you're right, Sh. Qadhi most certainly skipped completely over it; not to mention the expulsion of the Jews from Arabia. Although, in the case of the Banu Quraiza, the intent was to destroy their fighting ability (those executed were all male and able-bodied; women and children were all taken slaves, and , once it was confirmed that they sided with the besieging Quraysh; there is no denying that the net result was the same as a genocide. Especially important, since Muslims are accusing Israel of doing collective punishment with their attacks on Gaza. Sh. Qadhi, like many of the shayoukh I've been listened to, are still in the tunnel vision where too many things that, when done by Muslims, were done for all the right reasons, but when done by Jews, were obviously for the most heinous reasons. I've been critical of his glossing over stuff like this in other comments.

I've never heard such a ''gifted'' teacher and I've never acquired that much knowledge in such a short time! He is a remarkable man. Can't wait to listening to his other lectures and teachings on this channel 🏵

Jazakallah Shaikh for the timely lecture. May I point out a small correction- Sultan Mehmet II welcomed Jews after conquest of Constantinople and gave them numerous incentives etc in 1453. But the Sultan that welcomed the refugees of the 1492 Alhambra Decree is Sultan Bayezid. Also before the 1492 expulsion there was also 1391 riots of Spain where almost 100,000 deaths or forced conversions of Jewish communities occurred in lands taken over from Muslims in northern Spain

Morocco, like Tunisia, was not ruled by France, it was "under the protection of France", which in French is called "protectorat". Only the largest and richest north african land was colonised, Algeria.

As an American Jew, the truth from an Iman is a blessing. I love anyone who dares to tell the truth even though those who tell the truth know that they will be hated.

It is the disunity among the Muslims themselves which is the main reason for the present sorry plight of the Palestinians in Gaza. There are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world and some of the Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar are wealthiest countries in the world but they are either unable or unwilling to come to the aid of the 2.5 million Gazans. They must feel ashamed about their own disunity and their impotence in this regard instead of criticizing others like the Christians!

I hear a lot of our brothers talk about how good we treated the Jews. Not sure we should be bragging about this. Palestinian children and women are now paying for our mistake.
