60 year old dude here. What I love about your videos is how honest and transparent you are. You have a voice that resonants across generations.

Older guy here. I just like seeing someone who is able to cope so well being on their own in this economy. I recently got divorced and I'm on my own again too, so her minimalist advice works well for me.

32K is enough to put a chunk on a mortgage, get debt free, for most people if used right over the year that would be awesome to give freedom from debt. Good for you and congrats. Keep going. Love your channel .

Absolutely! I’d stash some of it away and invest the rest. It definitely is a nice chunk even before taxes.

Unless you have some decent write offs, you're gonna be paying anywhere from 12% (easily) to close to 25% in taxes. Also, you're supposed to pay estimated quarterly taxes towards that bill throughout the year.
@thebeve
Ай бұрын
@@cmgweb6951 IMHO there would be some write offs, part of rent, part of utilities, office supplies, computer/studio add ons (ie cameras, computers, ;laptops, software) Talk to a tax specialist and see what would be allowed
Good on you. That's a really nice part-time BUSINESS. No commute, no dress code to follow, no boss on your back, no complaining coworkers, nice dry climate-controlled atmosphere. Not to mention, almost no overhead. You deserve every penny you were paid, and did a great job explaining everything. Thanks.
Congrats Nicole! I'm part of your "Older Viewer Demographic". Most of your Lessons/messages I have already learned in life. I watch your video's because I admire what you're doing and want to support you and see your channel grow. Your Financial lessons are important to the up and coming generations. Wishing you much success in your 3rd Year! Happy 2024 ☺

Early 60's here, you took the words out of my mouth.
Congratulations Nicole!! Your channel quickly became one of my favorites, no nonsense, clear and insightful, jam packed with great and useful information. Really well done! Thank you.
Thank you for the insight, your content is amazing. ❤I still remember my first KZread 'paycheck', a lot of emotions and I was so proud of myself. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (with a little bit of famester of course), I wouldn't have made anything.
It's interesting how past videos gain sudden traction and it's a good lesson about why you need to simply keep going and carry on. I'm a self-published author and it's the same thing - I get income from the books I wrote 5 years ago and occasionally one or two really jump in popularity. There's no obvious pattern as to why, it could be just an algorithm thing or some reason why the subject matter becomes more sought-after. Great videos, thank you.
Congratulations on a great year. 32k is real money, and you've been putting in the consistent work to make it happen. Well done!
Newish subscriber here. Love the content. I've heard that CPM is higher closer to the holidays, so that could be the reason for the increase in November. More potential spending, more CPM.
Fascinating. And this vid also showcases your analytical mind. (Oh, and your 32K (CAN) is far, far, far, more than I thought you’d be earning. I hope that terrible boss you had sees this.)
Hey, 32K is a great second income! You've kept your expectations in check, put thought into what you posts, and I suspect you will continue to gain subs and views. Love this channel!
That's more than I expected, I think it's great!
I think it's risky for many KZreadrs to drop their full time jobs and rely solely on KZread to support them until retirement. In the meantime, you did really well, a great side job to add to your savings.
I’ve been impressed by day one. Your videos are well crafted and engaging. 🎉

Thanks for your down to earth honesty and hard earned experience/ wisdom
Hey, Nicole. I found this insight into your business really fascinating. I'm one of those older viewers who regularly watch your videos. From my perspective, as a personal finance enthusiast and self-taught financial planner, I appreciate your focus on financial empowerment. I'm always on the lookout for fresh voices that resonate with young people on life and money topics. As someone with several granddaughters and a three-year-old great-granddaughter, I believe smart and savvy women like you are excellent role models for them. Learning how young people approach money and what matters to them helps me better connect with the younger generation in my life, including my son, daughter, and a young man I mentor in finance. I'm not one of those interested in political debates; I’m here for the valuable content you provide. Keep up the great work! I'm already a fan and wish you continued success.
I've been binge-watching your videos for the past few days. So happy to see you're successful, you deserve it! Can't wait for the same video next year, hope you double it! ❤❤
Your hard work is paying off. Good for you!
How many youtubers would give the real details like this 🤩 its so helpful for people who are thinking about starting a channel!
Congratulations on your success and thank you for your transparency, it is very interesting for those of us who have no clue how the monetization aspect works.
I found your channel less than a month ago and binged all your scam videos. I'm slowly going back to watch your back catalog and truly appreciate your transparency. It showcases your values and is such quality educational content. Thanks!
"People overestimate what they can do in a year, but underestimate what they can do in five years." Very well said!
I don't normally comment but I just wanted to tell you that I LOVE how real you are.
Congrats Nicole, wishing you the best!!!
Being genuine, honest and real goes a long way.
Even when the subject is mundane, you make it interesting!
What a surprise to see a Nicole upload on a Wednesday! Congratulations on year one of being monetized! Your side hustle is rocking it! Hears to a profitable and entertaining 2024 for you!
Hey Nicole, thanks for making a video like this. Hello from Vancouver
It's like having a very intense but extremely likeable friend! One who tells it exactly like it is with no fluff! You start listening and find yourself mesmerized! No totally sure why the experience is so rewarding but sure THAT it is!
You are an inspiration, Nicole! Keep doing what you love!
Here is why I like you: bluntly honest!! You just straight forward tell what you think without any concern whether other people agree with you or not. No BS. Take it or leave it.
good luck with the next year, wish you 100k subs!
Nicole nice to see you gaining on your channel. People are tired of being broke your giving them hope.
63 here, and as you said, "A little Weird." Congrats on your success! Since I believe your original goal here was to make $1 per day, it's great to see how far you've come. ✌️😁🔥
Thank you for the very useful information you gave us
Well done Nicole. You’ve worked hard and deserve every success. I guess the difficult thing will be to remain relevant and continue to come up with fresh content. I admire anyone who can apply themselves to establishing and maintaining a YT channel.
I like how you mix hope and caution, showing the variance in the revenue and views. Being realistic when you state this takes a ton of perseverance is a huge element of this as well. What you create is certainly much more valuable than many other influencers who shouldn’t be influencing, since their influence is bad - but unfortunately they make a lot more (and end up creating bad habits). Hopefully your channel will continue to grow and you will be able to not only earn a living wage, but earn a good wage. You have a lot of good advice (although I don’t agree with all of it - but since when do humans completely agree on anything), it should be reaching more people, and you should be compensated well for dispensing it.
Not making it a chore and getting paid for it wow!
Wow! I really appreciate this video! For the longest time I’ve been telling myself I should start a KZread channel but I’ve just been either scared or not believing in myself enough that it would be successful. THIS IS THE MOTIVATION I NEED TO JUST GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
You've inspired me to keep going. I'm on year 8 with 1,809 subscribers and 500+ videos. I am looking forward to watching your channel grow👍👍
One of the useful things about this channel for me is how a fair amount of information is compiled in analyzing each topic. Helping people identify how they may be getting manipulated by psychological business practices is a useful tool in helping some folks to be less impulsive when it comes to spending, and to think about what they spend money on. One of the hardest lessons here for me here on this channel was the "buy once, cry once" way of looking at important purchases. Nicole has mentioned it at least once or twice.
Well that means it’s been about a year since I subscribed 🎉I watched your I just got monetised video where you said you’d hit 1k subs but the day I watched you were on 19k and I think the video was about 3 weeks old when I watched and I thought damn! Took all that time to get to 1k now your at nearly 20k. 19k growth in three weeks which I was impressed with but also thought was mental 😂 congratulations Nicole fab achievement 🎉
32k is a very respectable amount of money, especially for your first year! Congratulations! 🎉
My guess $4,000. I hope you made more. Thanks for sharing. You are inspiring.
Not quitting your day job (and never spending any money on anything beyond the bare necessities) is the clearest and best advice to anyone getting into the youtube game. thinking there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Wow, that is amazing and so inspiring ❤ Thank you for being so open. My channel got monetized 1,5 week ago. I can only post 1-2 video’s each month because I focus more on my art business than my art video’s (wish there were more hours in a day) but I earned the first $ 60 on KZread, that is crazy to me 😄
Thanks for your transparency.
I'm a 65YO Asian-American who lives frugally and has a comfortable amount of financial security. I hope you will garner more subscribers and viewers in no time at all. I love your content!
I am KZread addict and I never saw youtuber so open about his/her earnings in the way you did.
Quite interesting, thanks for your continued transparency and authenticity.
Congrats. Continued good luck.
You have such an intelligent engaging personality! Glad I found you!
Just found your channel.. very impressed! That's no bullshit!
Not everyone can do it, it's not just work, you need a level of talent and luck.
Good job dogg!
I'm rebooting my YT channel and really appreciate the transparency of what even a smaller channel can make starting off. I've recently watched channels where they were monetized within 6 weeks and 6 months which is wild... but more that monetize around the 2 year mark such as yourself. I feel this same way with novel writing! There's a lot of upfront work that goes into writing and editing a novel -- hours upon hours -- and then it's listed for $2.99 or $3.99 as an ebook so a few sales here and there are very low for the amount of work put into it at first. However, as you build a following, that will be scaled up. Same goes for my music. Yes, my band gets paid to play a show (what they're paying for is the performance, the value added which is not just the time playing the show but the hours and hours of rehearsal time and songwriting time and effort that is behind the scenes). Then the recording time which is like writing a book and finally you have songs (digital assets) that are scalable on Spotify or iTunes, etc. For us creative types this translates to the "starving artist" trope OR the presumably "overnight success" trope. It was never an overnight success. It's all about consistency and resilience. Don't starve while making art -- always have something else sustaining you -- but also never give up if you're passionate about it!
Good for you ❤😊 I am happy for you and your Levi.

Yes! We need a Levi viewing in each video! He is like the prize in the yummy cracker jack box!
Wow, that's more than enough to live off of, that's crazy. I've seen other channels with not many less views and make 10 times less than that, it's crazy how much it varies.
I do have some Questions ? #1. How do you get monitized ?? How many subs ? #2. How do you get sponsors ? How do you get paid ?? ( Mint Mobile) I am part of the older gentleman demographic, 51 yrs, I’m a huge Dave Ramsey & George Kamel fan !!!! I was constantly seeing your thumbnail and finally clicked and was instantaneously hooked !! Thank you !!!
Well done you! The content you share, and the way you share it, is unique and helpful. Wishing you a great 2024🎉
Congratulations 🎉 This inspires me to be more consistent and not give up.
When you announced you were releasing a bonus video, my day was MADE! You are wise beyond your years! I'm not quite in your demographic as I'm in my 50's, but the information in your videos are always valuable to me!
good for you!
You are a great role model and inspirational. You deserve every penny and we all know you will put your earings to good use. Im very happy for you and enjoy your videos. Much success to you :)
Good on you Nicole! This is a much higher amount than I expected. Super interesting to hear how different content effects the CPI. I've just started a super small channel and am aiming to get to 1k this year :D Your video "Why I'm so Frugal" came up in my suggestions even though it's not typically the kind of content I'd watch. Big congrats to you and keep enjoying it all.
It is your personality, your unique style. Well done! 🎉😊
Thank you so much for sharing this information. ❤
15:16 love how you added the word "yet" in there lol
Love this!!!!! How did you get the like button to light up on my phone and the comment section when you mentioned it??? So cool!!!!! I really appreciate this! Starting out myself and was monetized in 3 months and will be getting paid my first month in the partner program which I didn’t expect! Thx for your story and being open. I was getting discouraged due to all the hours put in to making videos (gets better with each upload) but I am not a quitter 👍🏼 Power to you and thank you for being a source of encouragement to us newbies 🎉
Love your transparancy. Remember that passion is always worth more than all the money in the world! 😊
I am amazed by the amount of money you make and you only have 58k subscribers. My goodness! How much are those KZreadrs with millions of subscribers are making!!!
Congratulations! I see you're also headed towards 50K subscribers soon - well done!
Congratulations and very well done Nicole.
Congratulations! 32k is nothing to sneeze at when you consider it's being made doing something you like to do! I fit into that "older male" category at 52, but alas, I have no politics or conspiracy theories to offer you, lol. I do want to say though, that I have learned a lot from your videos, and because of some of your subjects, I have saved a little money here and there and even made a little extra following some of your advice. Goes to show that no one is too old to learn something new, and you might just learn it from someone substantially younger than you. Keep up the good work, and most importantly- THANK YOU!
I love your mindset! You have a new subscriber ❤ I wish you the best in your you tube journey!
appreciate the honesty in this video and your others, I think that is a massive part of the success, no weird clickbait angle. Keep doing what you're doing, worst case you've made very helpful informative videos for people and made some money along the way but without doing things that you don't want to do.
Very interesting, great job, tremendous transparency. Well deserved money. That's a lot of work for no potential result initially, so it's nice for it to pay in the end, later on.
Thank you for sharing those information, very useful and i wish you success from France.
Enjoy the content and your straightforward presentation. Keep it up Nicole, Congrats on your success from this 60+ “Old Man”!😁
Congratulations….your hard work is paying off …..this is a success story 🎉
Great job. I am Canadian too! Cheers!
13:22 I’m a 42 year old male. I like your videos. My daughter is 19 and lives with me. I send these videos to her so she can learn a bit about personal finance and life goals. I think the scam series is how I found this channel.
That’s awesome! KZread is great!
It’s a lot more than I expected! I’m happy for you 😊.
Congratulations on your well-deserved success! Enjoy your transparency. In a future video, can you maybe discuss how you decide upon rates for paid sponsorships?
Well done! Congratulations, you have worked hard and deserve recognition!
Thank you for being so transparent I wanted to start my own channel but I didn’t know what to expect. I’m 60 years old and I have knowledge that a lot of people don’t. Maybe……
This video is inspiring for me to start making videos again. Congrats to you!
That's amazing, Nicole! Im so happy for your success. Would you be willing to share what you made in sponsorships during that time for an overall total?
Thank you for being so transparent. I had zero idea how much money people could make on KZread. This is just an amazing result and I'm happy for you. I enjoy your channel and you deserve your success.
One thing that is very interesting and your video does prove even more proof but KZread is definitely a wave effect when it comes to being syndicated. Waves in waves for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this video! As a new content creator for KZread, I am still not monetized. I've only been making videos for about 4 months now. It's frustrating sometimes because there seems to be very little rhyme or reason as to why some of my videos (mostly shorts) get a lot more views than others. It also sucks doing this on the side while working other jobs that pay crap wages. I usually too tired to make anything besides easy low-effort shorts. But, my longer videos rarely ever get as many views as the shorts do. But, I refuse to give up because I HATE every job I've ever had, so being a KZreadr would be better than anything I've ever done if I could make it work.
Oh my God I would watch but it's so boring, but either way the fact that I commented at all helps the algorithm and help your channel, so even bad publicity is good.
Nicole, you are simply excellent. You are Blunt and to the point. I enjoy the way you sprinkle your discussions with occasional four letter words which punctuates your points. You are illustrating to people to wake up and pay attention to needless things and thoughts. You express yourself so well! Thank you for a great example to COMMON SENSE, which apparently people don't seem to have much of these days.
Congratulations. You show commitment and perseverance. I truly hope your channel is super successful. You deserve it .
Congratulations! I find your content very helpful and your humor and transparency make you a hidden gem on YT. I hope more people continue to discover you this year!
You deserve it;
Just want to say. Kudos for getting a hit video right off the rip. That is definitely not the norm, lol. I've been making videos for YT for well over 10 years and have not gotten that one viral video yet.
