Your journey - building the channel - parallels my journey learning how to record and mix. Coming from being a gigging musician, I thought I'd see faster results. I quickly learned I was going to have to grind for every new skill. Just learning how to navigate my DAW took way more time than I anticipated. There have been points along the way where - out of frustration - I wondered why I even started. I still have a long way to go before I'd put one of my mixes out there, but I'm having so much fun with it. Your channel has become my favorite mixing-tutorial channel. Your laid-back, no-nonsense, positive approach to teaching is great. Love your content, man. Stick it out. I bet 2024 is going to show dramatically better returns as the word gets out. Hay man, I found your channel recently and find your videos super useful! I've started producing my own music recently and now trying to get my head around mixing it to a reasonable level. Your videos are some of the best I've found, and I really appreciate the time and effort put into them (even more now following this vid!). In particular I find the full song mixing and the 'Viewer Mix Reviews' videos invaluable for a noob like me. What I would LOVE to see would be viewer mix reviews but you have access to the tracks/stems to be able to show us how to fix a specific problem more directly (although appreciate that would be a lot more work!). Keep up the good work! :)

Mate, all your videos are straight golden. Don't be discouraged by how other channels have more views than you: all of those channels are trash. I try watching tutorials on other channels but I'm always turned off by how their mixes sound mediocre at best and how they use a lot of snake oil plug ins. I'd rather rewatch your content to really let it sink in. Your mixes actually sound good and your video quality is top shelf. I'm wondering, have you gotten more clients since starting youtube?

I would love to see another video about your 2023 youtube journey but this time focused on the content rather then the financial side of things (even though it was also a very intersting insight) Maybe talk about what you would do differently, what you have learned, what content generally did better/worse and stuff like that. Also I would LOVE to see you talk about your workflow - do you write scripts, how do you come up with content ideas and how you organize your time dedicated to content creation. I think that 16000 subs in a year is a pretty big achievement in this niche and your experience is super valuable to sound engineers who also want to try the youtube thing. You're a huge inspiration 🙏

It’s probably mostly about hitting a topic that is of high interest at the time. I’m definitely very humbled by the fact the channel has grown from 3.5k to 16k in a year! And it is a niche for sure. I'm curious what your RPM and CPM are because I've only been monetized for 5 days, and KZread studio says I've already made $18.91, and I'm pretty sure I get around the same amount of views as you. Supposedly advertising companies are paying 7.85 per 1k views for me. Its too soon to know my RPM. But I'm categorized as a gaming channel, so maybe that has an effect?

I think the rpm and cpm vary from video to video, but my average rpm seems to be around $8/1k views currently.
