The grind is back😈

People have lost their freaking minds when it comes to horsepower these days. Yeah, the 5.0 puts down massive power. But when I was in high school (almost 30 years ago) I had an 89 5.0. This V6 came from the factory with more power than my old mustang had. And I promise that car was more than fast enough to get me into trouble. The V6 is a good car with more than enough power to have some fun and you will get over 25 mpg. That’s a winner for a daily.

I’m glad you said this because it’s absolutely true. I had a modded 79 5.0 and a 81 straight 6 and both were plenty and my new v6 has more than those. I can’t complain. Ya it doesn’t SOUND like a v8 but then again it’s not one.

I may have missed hearing if u have a one piece drive shaft, some dyno shops may require one before dynoing your 3.7 if its running the stock ds

My 14 manual 3.7 has similar mods but mpt 93prx tuned and dynoed 286whp-272wtq. You’ll get gains closer to 300 with ported intake manifolds and long tubes. 73mm or ported throttle body will give small gains with the ported intakes but for me not worth it. My 5.0 definitely gained more power per mod but the 3.7 is a great platform that can handle good power with boost. That’s the only way to make good power though. Keep the vids coming

I run the BBK throttle body,JLT intake. Doorman one piece drive shaft and 355 gears. Manual 6spd. I want to get shorty headers and some kind of exhaust. I use a old sct tuner. I am curious about the Hpipe cat delete. Does that help? Can I still pass a inspection in Texas at the jiffy lube?

hey man love the car, I notice I have the same rims because I have the premium except they are aluminum silver color. Did your rims come black or did you wrap them because I'm looking to do the same?

Just saw this video, I also have a 2014 v6 FBO. Same setup as yourself, bbk shorty headers, bbk catted xpipe, Borla atak axleback, tuned on e85, and 3.31 gears, it really likes to boogie.

Love the car looks great. I have a tip for you on the throttle body of you're still up for it

Did you upgrade your drive shaft?

I got a 15 v6 camaro these are fun competition for me. Also throttle body spacers don’t do anything for directed injected engines. Maybe intake spacer and a bigger throttle body.

Have i changed the 2 piece drive shaft to a 1 piece

There is power gains you can get with exhaust, you just went with short tubes instead of longtubes. But i understand for the sound.

Try not to leave it all the way down to E that much! Sucks up the bottom dirty or rust or anything like that

Gav dont expect too much from a cai. You may get a slightly lower intake temp but not enough to justify the money. But they are worth it for the cool sounds they make👍🏼

The steeda and air raid tube with stock box have been proven to be the best setups. The steeda requires a tune.

Depending on condition and if you’re paying cash or financing, I just got mine 2014 mustang v6 for 13999 88k miles on her

I wasn't about to spend $400 for a BBK 73MM throttle body. 37Stangs mentioned being able to throw on a 5.0 throttle body (80MM) with and adapter and they are half the price. New its around $250. I found a used one for $65 on ebay. and the adapter from Shapeways.com for $70ish. I have seen another video where a guy just drilled new holes and put the 5.0 TB on. Anyway.. the 80mm matches the inlet of stock v6 upper manifold perfectly. If you have fins though you'll have to sand them down. Theres and immediate throttle response and i havent even tuned it yet. HIGHLY recommend a TB being full bolt on. My Build list : JLT CAI ✔ Ford Racing 80mm TB ✔ Ported Intakes Upper ✔ Bama 91 Tune ✔ BBK shorty Headers ✔ BBK O/R X Pipe Pypes exhaust ✔ MMR billet water pulley ✔ Ford Racing 4.10 Gears ✔ Planned.. 1 piece driveshaft J&M LCA's Strange 10way rear shocks

280-300 whp, you’ll need long tube headers and ported intakes to hit over 300+ whp. Also Maxbore can bore a stock TB to 73mm for around $150.

I ported my own intakes and didnt really feel a difference but once I ported the throttlebody I felt quite a bit down low

@@tylerchapman5555 then you ported your intake manifolds wrong. I’ve fixed at least 5 sets of 3.7 mustang self ported intakes over the years (as well as companies porting them) and they weren’t even close to being ported like they should be, even the intakes ported smooth.

Different from wheel horsepower. They have 305 at the crank but lower wheel horsepower

I love the car and the charisma, but that’s not FBO... FBO would be, CAI, ported upper and lower intake manifolds, LONGtube headers, catless midpipe, catback exhausts, injectors for E85, gears.

Jake Bailey I mean yeah, shorties don’t ad any power, longtubes do. Don’t take it as me hating, I love that you’re in the 3.7 community and putting out good content. If you wanna see the results to shorties vs longtubes go ask Kalob Smith from Auto Mafia Racing or check out his channel. And for E85 you have to have different injectors and a tune to support, but E85 ads power. And I mean still no ported intakes, that’s one of your bigger mods.

i think you are making 360 hp with the mods and tune, the car comes with 305 hp.

Not really bro I'm running a stock bottom on a 4.0 V6 yeah I said it and have no issues and my bottom is running 335 to 350 TQ

if ur beating 5.0s it should be around 390 wheel, 5,0 has 420 crank

and one more thing the car is an s550 not s197. s197 is 2005-2009 after is s550.

that kid dalton 2006 we make 323 crank stock so about 250-270 wheel for us v6 camaro guys.

You mentioned a different car. Stick with the 3.7. Put a Mafia Turbo on it. You’ll crap your pants. Look it up on KZread. They are sick good and capable of an easy 500hp to to wheels. I’ve seen them make 670hp, but that’s unsafe. These 3.7’s are nothing to fool with. They scream!

If your not running e85 then you won’t see the true potential of the car . I have a 2014 3.7 mustang as well , street tune x pipe Cora extreme and smokes scats n gen 1 coyotes

i have the same car and stock your at 305 horses and all I have done is cold air intake exhaust system and race fuel and some other minor stuff and I'm pushing about 340-350 horses so its not possible that your full bolt on is only making 300, that gotta be dang close to 400

with full bolt ons you’ll probably make around 415-425 crank, idk how much power he thinks they make but its 305 for coupe 315 convertible, so already around 270-280 crank if you’re manual

there’s no way u only make 300 whp. 😐
