Just got myself on a one owner 97 5.9L 2500 with 86k original miles for $1,100! Put New headlights, painted bumper and grill, painted rims, new headliner, new speakers, new stereo, whole new dash assembly, new seats, bed liner, new shocks, new idler pulley, new Toolbox! She’s coming along very nicely!!!!

Mine has 82 thousands miles 94 5.2 5speed Laramie

I paid 2,400 for a 1998 4x4 5.9L ..into it now plus registration..8,000...rebuild the transmission...new tires 35 12.5 15's ..cleaned up the motor...new gaskets,hoses new timing chain..new manifold gaskets...new tie rods..now it's a daily driver...had 143,00 when I got it...still has a few more up grades to go...has 150,000+ now..plus I have a 2000 5.2L 2wd with 160,000...both run great...no leaks ..

Up north a used truck dealer would ask like 9 grand for that thing

nice truck! I picked up an 03, 1500...5.9l, quad cab, long bed, 4x4, 180k miles for 4k. It's an awesome truck...a real truck. I got lucky with a solid engine and no rust. It has a major dent but I'm not worried about that at all. Gas mileage is 10-11mpg (horrible) but my daily is a tesla so it balances out lol. This will be my forever truck. I love these 2nd and 3rd gen Rams more than any truck out there.

Went from a 99 Dakota to 99 ram and the cup holders jessus THE CUP HOLDERS can’t beat it

I got a 1999 Ram 1500 it needs body work done too but it still runs fine! 136k miles minor repairs but no problems since the last repair so far. Next repair is replacing the tires since they are bald but that has nothing to do with the truck just regular vehicle use.

@jackson meads I think these Dodge trucks are great trucks because I am one the 2001 1500 V6 it's a work truck.. I think the only worth about $200.. and I think that trying to sell one to anyone to make them angry at you. My truck is reliable and gets by needs to go.. but they get the same gas mileage is a dump truck.. here in Kentucky where I live these trucks are everywhere parts are easy to find for them my Dash is all cracked up did the body of my truck is great. Considering it's almost 20 years old.. the way I see it I have to sacrifice paid a lot of money for gas.. if I had some cheap other car they got good mileage I have to be working on all the time. So it's cheaper to drive my Dodge Ram.😎

Paid 4,900 for my 99 Ram 1500 Sport 5.9 Has 170k miles on it with a matching Topper. Was kept quite well. I'm excited for her life

I like how real your being. No body compares prices that way. And you start to realize most down payments on a new vehicle are over 2k. Good job on that, an nice truck. I grew up riding around in my buddies 1998 single cab red dodge Dakota R/T wanted that truck since I was 14. Bought it at 20. Was the love of my life! Now I have a 02 dodge Dakota R/T single black. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I got my 98 ram this year in March for $1,200 USD from a buddy of mine he just never used it so I bought it off of him with 114,000 miles on it it runs amazingly only had one issue and that was replacing the cat. Don't have any other complaints about it

Mine had 232k one owner 2x4 with a 5 speed and I got it for 300. Had to fix the map sensor and has been driving fine ever since.

I have a 97 ram 1500 4x4 old farm truck so the outside is pretty beat up but the dash is perfect condition lol no cover and she has 171k

What is that accessory on the dash just north east of the radio, between the two air vents? Usually it's a blank, or the airbag switch, or a pocket, or the heated seat switches, but yours is something I've never seen. Is it a built in cellphone hands-free?

To the upper right of the radio is a 12 V outlet, to the right of the radio is the fog light on and off switch and the airbag switch

Just check your local facebook marketplace. I see these trucks in various conditions all the time going for 1-5k depending on mileage and all. I am looking at buying one with a manual trans here soon.

Mine was $500 then a trans rebuild new spark plug wires new spark plugs new power steering pump and hose and im about 2500 into it but my dash is bad and the ac doesn't work

Who taught you to adjust an EQ?

Also put some wd-40 in those door hinges😉 I also recommend the next mod to be a leveling kit it will look nice (you will lose probably 1 mpg tho)

Adding a leveling kit isn’t gonna change your mpgs if you add tires you’ll lose mpgs

@@juniorlopez8206 it's unbelievable it's almost grandiose no offense I love my truck too but it's an insult to people people here will get these trucks to you you can get them for nothing the gas mileage is horrible on them the 2001 a drive is a 6 cylinder and nobody wants those it's very reliable 180000 plus miles but nobody wants 12 miles per gallon

I just bought one for $500 downside it's 2wd but it's the "sport" just a little rust on the rear fender but nothing I can fix.

You should have went with the super 10 flowmaster. That’s what I have on mine and it sounds amazing. It is pretty loud though. Another great upgrade you could do is try to locate an instrument panel surround from a Laramie model. It’s a nice wood grain plastic that makes the interior a lot nicer.

Being in arizona truck explains why no rust. Mine? Pfffft! ...victim of rock salt. But sun damaged dashboard? These are notorious for cracked dashes.

I got a 1998 dodge ram 5 speed manual has been taking abuse just fine. My co worker has a 97 Chevy auto. His is a 305. mine is the 318. I beat him every time in a straight line. AND he just told me he has a blown head gasket last week. I stayed neck and neck with an 04 Chevy Z71 on the highway, i was bone stock. I'd rather have a trans failure with a Dodge than a head gasket failure with a Chevy.
