Thank you very much for the video AJ. Curious to get your thoughts on a few items. Is it true that this profession requires you to have a network and know wealthy people? I'm under the impression that someone new to this field is expected to build their own book of business when they get hired on. Maybe this isn't initially the case in every situation given that lower responsibility positions don't carry that charge from the start but eventually that's the expectation. Appreciate your thoughts and comments on this and thank you again for taking the time to read/respond.

Hey Sean, At some firms, new people are expected to bring in new business. At other firms, a new advisor is expected to service clients that the "lead" or partner advisors bring in to the firm. So it just depends on your role. AJ

Probably CPA as more people know what it is. But CFA has more potential.
I appeared for CFA level 1 exam last month but I did not qualified so I am preparing for level 1 February 2024 L1.. what should I study new syllabus or the old syllabus.. please help

How can people transition from a large firm to a small firm where an owner is looking to retire and they can succeed them?

There is only one way - networking. And I think the best way to do this is to send them emails, linkedin messages, and some phone calls or hand written letters.
