That’s interesting. I’m also an aspiring electrician and wanted to do tinting on the side. How did you get into tinting? Did you take a class? Or were you taught by a tint store? I’m interested in opening my own tinting business and was thinking about taking a class and getting a certification. Would you recommend I work for a tint shop after and get experience before going off on my own or do you think getting my certificate will be enough to work on cars alone? Any knowledge you have to share is highly appreciated 🙏

@@jond8013 my father owned a window tinting business so I started tinting when I was in high school about 15 years ago or so. Idk much about the schools but I’d say see if you can get in with a shop to teach you. In the meantime buy some film and tint personal cars and family cars for practice.

Bro I was a full time electrician and quit to be a tinter lol. Here is my take: In the beginning, having a tool bag full of squeegees and cleaning stuff made me feel less important than my drills and cutters etc. thats the only downside. On the positive side, electrical was so boring and depressing for me hence why I quit. Tinting is actually fun and requires real skill not just knowledge. You can make more money depending on the environment. Less risky and not as dangerous as working with electrical. Not having to crawl in spaces, get dirty with dry wall or climb latters

Speed comes with clean work and experience. Most cars I do, I only have to heat 0-3 specs a car. So this speeds me up so much. A lot of it is in the method you use as well. The more seamless it is the quicker you get. But never try to rush to get the speed, you will get mistakes. The speed will come when you perfect your install, I don't necessarily move fast when I tint, again it's just seamlesss
