Thanks for the info
I’ve been interested in doing inner module trying to understand the process with this be the same as a real inner module I guess my question is, can you go in and pick up a loaded container bring it to a delivery pick up an empty and bring it back to the port And that could be a short run or a long run are you getting paid per run? Can you do this as a lease on with your own truck?
4110 for 4 days is great money to be local and 2600 is better than a lot of these otr companies. I want to learn more because I have a twic card myself and all my endorsement
Who exactly are you working for ? I’m in Northern VA looking into working for Dunavant as a IC leased on. Thanks for the info !!im currently leased onto JB HUNT just picking my own loads and I’m barely making 2k a week after deductions I’m thinking about going intermodal for the first time so your videos are really helpful

Taxes brother gotta include that & maintenance plus other expenses.
Not to be too much in your mix bro but do you lease or finance your truck or no note on it at all? That plays a big role into whether or not that take home is “good”. I’m thinking about moving to H-Town to do this as an owner op but would be financing a used day cab.

We bought our truck outright. It still could be a good check for you as long as you don't overpay for a truck.

Oh ok. Preciate the response 💯
How are containers that come into the port move to rail? Does that require a driver as well?

Yes ports do have their own drivers but crane operators are the ones that move containers to and from ships, trucks, rail
Great video Sir! How much experience do you need to become a Intermodal driver? Is this something that you become out of CDL School? Thank you for your time.

Most companies around here want at least 1 year of experience. Some may make an exception though

You need to get the experience of pulling a regular dry van first, at least 1 to 2 years. Pulling containers is a different world. You will trun over if you don't know what you're doing. Loads are usually Heavyer. Dry van is a lot easier.
The only problem kind of heaven right now they're saying that I can't write another products all for taxes.
Is a run equivalent to a day of work? Or can you do multiple runs in a day?
@Married2Freight

It can be both. Some local runs can be done in about 3 hours while longer distance runs can take the whole day
Brother, how many hours do you work in each week and how many miles do you run each week. I would really appreciate answer those questions to get a clear picture please. Great video by the way.

Local intermodal should cost you maybe 11 hrs a day 5 days a week if you trying to gross that $3,000 a week check. Take away about $100 a week for cab insurance and about $700 a week for fuel should be taking home maybe $2,200 a week. Spend $4,500 on person living bills and the other $4,400 stays in your bank just in case you need a tire or something to keep rolling! Your truck is relaxing at your house while not being used. Some days are very aggravating but it’s worth the time with the family!!

@Married2Freight as a company driver doing fuel hauling I gross between $2000-$2500 and there's lots of owner operators hauling fuel over here in Colorado.
You’re joking… they would charge you for breaking the tablet? I could understand if you deliberately broke it, they’d charge you, but I’d quit if my employer ever charged me for breaking or damaging something on accident - hence why you make as little as you do.
