Logically energy management comes first, then, base that into speed output for the entire 224km route, of course its gonna be a rough estimate because of nutritional and biological or environmental factors, then based on that estimate, how well will manon compare to other competitors according to that estimate, i don't agree with "counting calories" because nobody can utilize nutrition at 100% accuracy, that's why there is a team who went after eastern african individuals because if i remember right, they can run under extreme heat for hours as their means of "transport" and it is natural for them, i can understand why they got recruited, central and eastern africans are well known for their aerobic endurance, so someone decided to tap into that potential to win this business, im excited for manon

The results are posted (google is your friend) In her age group, Women 19-29, She came in 11th at 9:34:54 , a contender. Good job, waiting on the report from Manon and how she is feeling. Looking forwards to seeing her in the Unbound 200 June 3rd, 2023 in Emporia, Kansas.

She came 11th out of 18 in her division.

Always great to see initiatives to provide opportunities to riders who wouldn't otherwise have the the chance!

I love when Manon asks if she will finish the race and the tester is just like uuuhh ummmm 👍. Some things can't be answered with math lol...thats what I love about ultra endurance, its a great equalizer in a way. A pro can DNF whilst a first timer just wanting an experience finishes with a smile ear to ear. Love it

Manon, thank you for being so open with what is pretty personal information. You sort of let them turn every stone over and shared that with the world. Appreciated, I learned a lot by listening. Good luck to you as well, but more importantly I hope you really enjoy it. Your in some of the best for what the US has to offer as scenery.

Wow! Wahoo is legit. Their building is state of the art and entirely focused on performance science. This is undoubtedly why the Kickr is still the trainer everyone wants.

Wow...Manon does real science. My understanding and respect for Wahoo just went up exponentially. Manon has got data to base her HR efforts on, fuelling and hydration strategy. So physiologically she has the framework to do the race, the other major part is psychologically...that part is entirely in her hands. You've got this Manon 👍

Finally a nerdy look at training, and with Manon too! I’d like to see a GCN+ video with a more in-depth look at Manon’s testing, including LT1 and 2, as well as glucose utilization. A deep dive into the Half Monty and 4DP protocols and definitions of the training zones and other physiological tech would be interesting.

Wahoo is an awesome company their customer service is amazing. Their support and promptness to resolve issues is amazing in this day and age when companies are not focusing as much on customer service. Not fussed about power but the breakdown of when she was using carbs etc was interesting because eating optimally is something that's impossible without such tests.
