My two favorite doctors sharing a screen!!🥩Awesome
Im 55 years old and fit. An acquaintance of ours, same age, asked me today to be his trainer. He eats SAD diet. I told him before anything, we have to fix his diet. Working out without changing his diet will actually make him fatter, not leaner. That's because he will be hungrier and will eat more of the same crap that made him unfit. Its THAT bad. If you're fat, the worst thing you can do is go to the gym and start banging the weights around. It will accomplish nothing without changing diet.
@BonerGrowingPains
14 күн бұрын
Nonsense. If you're fat, weight lifting is an excellent start to getting fit. Sure he needs to change his diet. That goes without saying. However, dissuading him from weight lifting did him a disservice. Your logic is silly too; assuming he will be hungrier from lifting, especially at that age. Complete overthinking. You gave your friend bad advice. Should have told him to start lifting and dieting.

There is nothing better for your health than figuring out what diet works best for you. The benefits to your health are amazing. Too bad so many refuse to take control of their own health. If you are expecting to get help or hear the truth from the ones who benefit from your addictions and illnesses then you are going to suffer needlessly. Big food, big pharma, big med, and big gov are not in it for your health and well-being. Money and power is all they care about.

If you are on the Carnivore Diet and want to go back to eating vegetables, it may take some time, at least if you want to eat large quantities of vegetables. I generally prefer to just eat meat, but sometimes there are social events where little or no meat is available and if I am not careful I get diarrhea from food that in the past I probably would have tolerated. We are very adaptable creatures, but adaptation often takes time.

Dr Baker can you please explain the French paradox?
Salad has always been disgusting to me. They'd drag me to the salad bar in the restaurants as a kid, and the only thing I truly liked and usually filled my bowl with were croutons and blue cheese. As I got older, I would smother any salad in blue cheese in order to force it down. There is no forcing down steak or steak fat. lmao. I can happily gnaw on a t-bone just like a dog, then give it to my dog when I'm done. It all just feels more natural, anyways.

Yeah, demonizing salad is just a bridge too far. An all meat diet is pretty extreme, save for the very few who enjoy it. I'm not buying the idea that she got an arthritic flare up from a salad. The problem with being so rigid about diet is the selective data bias when attempting to prove your point.

Triglycerides that are that high seems odd. Were you fasted for 12 to 14 hrs before the test? Things like not being fasted, some sort of underlying inflammatory condition or infection, heavy alcohol use just before the test and others things like overexertion can mess with results. Go totally clean carnivore and retest. Check other markers if you're concerned like Hs-crp, fasting insulin and glucose and see if that comes back normal. Maybe a CBC just to be sure your wbc is normal. Dr. Berry has a Common sense lab book that may come in handy for you.

@@UN-gm2ur I was 18 hours fasted, I do not drink alcohol the last 4 months and I'm strict carnivore, eggs, salt, butter, mostly ground beef and steaks and occassionally pork, chicken , seafood. I agree. I've done keto. Got into the best shape of my life. I was miserable. Had insomnia from the cortisol spikes from intermittent fasting and low carbs. All I wanted was a little bread. Beef and water sounds miserable for most people. Only a fraction of people would ever enjoy that. The individual must cater the diet for their personal preferences, plain and simple.

I'm not disputing the efficacy of Carnivore for some people and as an elimination diet, but one-size-fits-all doesn't work anywhere in the human condition and it doesn't work with diet and nutrition either. Humans evolved as omnivores, period, end of story. Our dentition, digestive tract and the paleoarchaeological record are indisputable on this scientific fact.

I agree. It’s just what plants they eat. For example, humans naturally don’t like grains or vegetables (unless the other option is starving). On the other hand, I definitely believe humans have always eaten fruits while they were in season because we naturally crave them and find them palatable.😊
@mwbeck
14 күн бұрын
@@TheLinguisticDove"humans naturally dont like". No. That's subjective. Grains (wheat) may have been pretty useless until humans figured out what to do with them. But if something is edible, humans are gonna eat it to survive (historically). Many people enjoy vegetables.
@curtismatsune3147
14 күн бұрын
@@TheLinguisticDove The notion that humans only ate fruits unless they were starving is contradicted by assays of ancient human tooth enamel. What those assays show is that vegetables were part of our diet all the way back to the hominids and that as far back as Neanderthal grains were part of our diet. They also showed that dietary ratios differed by sex (along with other variables like geography and social culture), with females consuming more plants than males. Whenever one finds themselves inclined to making blanket statements on human diet and nutrition, they ought to check themselves.
Imagine being this coddled and wealthy and special you can worry about your food being healthy when majority are starving. Yall won’t get out of this unscathed, while your neighbors starve, I assure you.

You’re filled with GMOs, I see. Too brainwashed to think for yourself. PS if you eat healthy, REAL food it will actually cost LESS than the junk you’re forcing into your body now. Because your body will actually be satiated and you won’t get the signal of “Hey! You need to eat!” when your body is deficient in a vitamin, mineral, fat, whatever it is but instead you consume a bag of chips because you can’t stop eating them with all the MSG and everything else they bathe them in to trick your brain into telling you that you want more so you overeat. Oh, also, you’re gonna “pay” one way or another…either in doctors appointments, medications, supplements, horrible quality of life and just generally feeling like 💩 OR you can invest in eating REAL food, once or twice a day (all your body really needs) and you’ll actually save…money and in many other ways. Your choice. May the odds be ever in your favor.
