Also just want to put this out there. It took way longer than it should have because I spent hours loading in 15-20 different files with the wrong OS. If it was correct in the first place and the truck started right away the job would have only taken 20-25 hours if you were doing it for the first time and taking your time like I was. Deomid Kuzmin you won’t regret it man. I have a ‘19 F-250 and deleted with less than 300 miles on it. When I change my oil it’s still looks fresh. Versus my ‘18 F250 that isn’t deleted. When I change the oil in that it’s black as can be.

For sure but we’ll worth it. I actually lost the metal sealing o ring for the downpipe it’s on backorder from GM so once it gets in the exhaust it going on

So if you weren’t quite ready to completely delete the truck but want more sound, would it be possible to remove the piece that connects to the back of the turbo and remove the foam that is silencing it then reassemble?

What did you do with the coolant return line on the turbo? My cap blew apart and noticed others did the same. I noticed a lot of people saying capping it may ruin the turbo. Thoughts on routing it back into the coolant reservoir?

For the ecm do you recommend getting a completely new one from hp tuners, or can I just send in my current ecm and get it unlocked, i saw that option on their website. Also what tune do you recommend running? I'm just trying to get rid of the def system.

What size spacers do you have on wheels, I just had my 2500hd 2016 Denali deleted/programmed but it didn’t need all of that. Just programmer and delete . I’m guessing you need a 2017+?

Can you let me know what you did with the two 3/8" lines that used to hook to the egr? One is from the coolant resivor and the other is on the backside of the turbo canister. The instructions that came with mine is for 2019 and older and are different on the part of the installation. Thank you

But yea I really appreciate it because I've been having trouble trying to find any info on deleting I found a company in Canada. But I'd rather us HP tuners.

Nice man it won’t be for a long time. There’s so much demand for hp tuners right now. They control the market and that’s really the only thing that will come down in price. Hard parts and tunes will always be the same price. When the Ecm first came out it was $2,500 now it’s $1,800 I can only see it coming down a few more hundred.

I haven't seen anyone else talk about leaving the SCR on & going the "cheap" route before which i something i think a lot of people consider due to the high price as you mentioned. Thanks for putting this together. Can you discuss your thoughts returning the L5P to stock for dealer trade-in or passing emissions testing? I know i'll want to trade my 19' in someday and am also subject to emissions testing every 2 years. I don't mind spending the money for a delete but worry about the future of the EGR system working again etc. Appreciate the great content you produce - keep kill'n it!

You could return it to stock but it will be a lot of work if you actually pull everything off to start with!

Which downpipe do you with or is it custom? I would like to install a downpipe on my just to hear the turbo more and keep the stock exhaust.

Hey man you can’t do that you need an Ecm swap and tune to allow it

can you do all this in power stroke too?

Denny, I believe the DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) is attached directly to the turbo outlet. In your video you refer to it as the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction). I don't mean to sound like Im sharp shooting, just hoping to help for newbies like me who get confused with all these terms. The SCR on the L5P is in between the downpipe & the DPF. Thanks again for the great content!

No problem buddy but you got it in reverse. The SCR is bolted to the back of the turbo and the DOC is after the dpf filter near the rear of the truck!

I agree, I have a 2017 L5P, I have read a lot and watched numerous videos which lead me to think the doc was the one directly behind the turbo, unless it changed on the 2020!

That’s the last bug we’re working out. No lights or codes just the fuel mileage then we’re good to go!

Wait just the factory ECU is encrypted and can't be flashed, why would they want the factory ECU or even have a core charge?

You didn't mention anything about pcv re route what all does that intail

100% would not pass emissions. I’m in CT and they even just do a visual inspection. If they don’t physically see the emissions equipment it’s a fail

Unfortunately there’s no light or anything to let you know. You can tell by the truck idling at a higher rpm, the engine feeling different and louder under acceleration and by the smell. If you actually want to know you can get an edge insight or similar monitor

2016 in the LML was the last year the Bosch CP4.2 was used on GM Duramax equipped trucks, 2017-20 trucks now use a Denso HP injection pump I'm pretty sure that doesn't seem to have the issues the CP4.2's did.

This is the reason why I didn't buy a duramax back in 2018. The cost to delete is astronomical. I'm a chevy guy but this time I went for a Cummins. For the tunes, exhaust, delete kit, air intake and intake horn I spent about $2800. Delete cost was a major factor.

Goes thru all of that headache to delete all the DEF stuff wanting more power and better mileage but still has the stock intake and piping and resonator??? That’s the first thing to get rid of and upgrade on ANY vehicle of you want it to breathe better. Start where ALL of the air comes in and work towards the back of the exhaust.

I have a 2018 with 120k on it and I’ve already spent north of $11k on DEF system repairs. Piece of shit throws an emissions system code every 20k miles or so, it just never stops. I think it’s a good investment on a new truck
