The Vietnamese are some of the most friendly people in the world I found. Also, great food, stunning scenery and convenient for traveling to Laos and Cambodia which are also fantastic. Once my boys finished college, im heading to Vietnam for two to 3 months at a time, but still be travel back to US annually.

Great video! I'm glad you included airfare, the other thing to remember is the expenses that don't stop just because you're out of country. I own a condo so I still have my mortgage and HOA and parking, electric, phone, storage fees, car payment, insurance and on and on.... You only live once right? Go for it!

Very nice video, thank you! I was in Da Nang for 2 years back in the late 60's, stationed at Da Nang air base. For a long time I have wanted to go back there, to be able to spend time exploring this beautiful area without the war situation I was in then. Hopefully soon, my gf and I will do that! However, one thing I want to mention is that I was a Vietnamese linguist back then, and I am obligated to pass this on to you, lol! When you say "Vietnam", the a in nam is a soft "a"... as in ball, or tall, or call, whereas you are pronouncing it as a hard a, as in ram, or bat, or mash.... understand? Anyway, very nice video, just subscribed!

Even some of our more retarded countrymen volunteered to fight in Vietnam and wanted a war memorial put up in the remembrance of those Canadians who died there. Our Prime Minister at the time, Jean Chretien, said that Canada does not memorialize those who served as mercenaries in an unofficial war that Canada did not participate in. Oh, and thanks for burning down the White House, we greatly appreciated that.

It wasn’t until 1940, when Dad joined the RAF and came to England and met Mum who was a volunteer nurse in Bergen-Belsen treating the sick and dying. I have lived off and on in Danang from 2018-2020. I have been out of the country since COVID - but most of my stuff is still in my Danang apartment. I will go back in the Fall when it is open again and I am vaccinated. Absolutely love Danang. Love Vietnam - have so many stories!😂😂 Not just Vietnam though - all of Asia is awesome and I have been to every country in East Asia over many years. I started out as an English Teacher in Japan in 1991 - lived there for 6 years, married a Japanese and then moved back to Canada. Started going back to Asia in the 2000's for work and family and then lived in China and taught in a high school there from 2017-2019. My favorite region in the world is SE Asia and I will retire there. Your money goes three times as far as in a country like Canada.

Hello Megan, Vietnam will open its border for international travel starting July 1st, but with one month E Visa only at this time, will they require a 14 days quarantine in hotel or self-quarantine? what do you think? also thanks for the awesome videos.

Currently, our country's border is closed for tourism still, only special cases are allowed to enter Vietnam and all these cases are mandatory to stay in government quarantine centers.

Depends where you're coming from. If you're coming from UK/USA then likely you cannot enter, even with a quarantine. Reality is that until a vaccine is available or US/UK gets its act together they won't be allowed in.

@@ThuNguyen-lw8lr lol even with chinese DaNang is better than NhaTrang , DaNang is richer , more facilities , and they have a bunch of restaurants , apartments , shops for foreigners near the beach.

Nice job! I spent some time in Da Nang, went up to Ba Na Hill for a day...that was a trip. All in all, it is a great city.

I loved "Cham museum" in Da Nang with all the figures and sculptures. For three weeks a journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City was an interesting, exotic experience, but I could not imagine to live there. As a German, the Communist form of government in Vietnam seems to me like our former DDR/GDR (=German Democratic Republic) we had in East Germany until the "fall of the wall" in 1989. Who criticizes the government goes to jail, spies listen on public places what you are talking about, Communist propaganda posters on the walls etc. By the way, I was happy, when I had survived the crazy traffic with all the scooters at the end. 1:02 min For an average market woman or a cook in Vietnam 315 US $ rent are unpayable. For Vietnam this flat is fairly noble (for us in the west it is average, normal standard of living), only some rich people could afford it there. On our journey we also "lived in a bubble" in fairly luxurious 4-stars-hotels, partly with pools and even a private beach . But normal Vietnamese often sleep with 4 or 5 people in small rooms on the floor...

Drgnfli I’ve seen nice apartments on higher floors, close to the beach, and in the desired district for $300-400, utilities included. I think there are some in this video too. You just have to shop around quite a bit.

Im local here, Hoian now is just like what it should be back to 20 years ago when they were not many tourists: peaceful, safe and relaxing.

I didnt get to hit Danang. Because the bus I took from Vientiane went to Hanoi instead of Danang. I have already been to Hanoi, 8 times. I would love to see more of Central Vietnam soon. I love Vietnam. Its the Best Party Place in Asia.

Does Asia Park nickle and dime you for each ride? I was at a park in Saigon and they nickle and dime you for the rides unlike the rides in the US where the ticket gets you all the rides. Not sure if Canadians can open a credit card with Charles Schwab but they will refund you all your ATM fees at the end of the month.

Nope! It's crazy, one cheap entrance fee and you have access to all the rides and shows. No lineups.

When you rent an apartment , is it cheaper to sign a lease for a year, than month to month lease? In other words, is your rent cheaper if you agree to a longer stay?

Usually cheaper for year contracts. Some modern new apartments here in vung tau offer one month free. Some apartments also do have a monthly site mainteance fee that nay cover security lifts parking water etc etc...approc $25 month. Some inclusive. Depend how much you enjoy ac....and danang can be bloody hot and humid....electricity can vary from $25 to $100 per month. Some apartments seem more extreme for some reason!. Daily rate apartment and hotels are almost double monthly rates....if you are staying 2 weeks some city in vn.....stay longer!....same price. If you do a year contract...a small house with balony or courtyard etc can be the same cost as an apartment. Depends on your preference.

Hi Fr: overtaxed NYC metro area...Litchfield County, CT...how much is UR house or is it in a 6 story apt building rental? how many bedrooms...is it US standard, basic bathroom? hot & cold water? w/kitchen? nearby neighbors or is that in the city? how far R the restaurants? nearby? & supermarkets? How much to eat out a good sized dinner or lunch? transportation issues/costs? safe to use public trans....what?

The prices in Da nang have dropped even further. My rent went down from 7 mil to 5 mil :). Found a really great apartment with a large balcony full of plans which beats anything else I have ever seen here and it still is less than 7 mil

Donkey Kong i get that and i think both looks tanned and white look good. but when i was in the philippines they take it to an extreme and the ladies without really white skin are looked down on by society. i dont agree with that
