They just lowered the minimum requirements and you can stay local. Also, if your working for wm currently, they have a warehouse to driver program where they will pay your schooling. I don't think you guys that don't truck drive for a living know what it's like to drive 2200 + miles every week. It's stressful and exhausting just staring at the road dodging psycho drivers road construction zones pedestrians etc. You're working very long hours every day sometimes as long as 14 hours in most companies only give you a 34-hour reset which is less than a day and a half break. You don't even get a full two days off on the weekend and then you have to get right back on the road and do it all over again. Your life is driving that damn truck, so you better really love truck driving and being by yourself day after day after day. $108.000 sounds like a lot of money but you're dealing with everything I mentioned above. You don't really get to enjoy all that money you're making because you don't have much time off. Basically you truck until you drop or quit.

Worked at walmart on 3rd shift for 2 and half years drivers were almost always late some would help unload but most would be gone or on the phone with boyfriends or girlfriends a lot of them were on drugs and/or sold drugs but they did say its good pay and extremely easy work as long as you dont fall asleep but most would quit or get fired within a couple months so they always needed drivers for immediate hire even have their own cdl classes if you work full time at walmart and have benefits

Well If you figure 14 hr shift every day …it’s not even that much. I didn’t mention being away from friends and family every year…or year after year. Don’t even consider to be a truck driver…go to school if you young and get a real job…a job that you can make same money in 8 hours and a life…a real life .

Most truck drivers I know earn way more but he’s probably getting benefits also included since he’s employed for Walmart directly. If you’re independent then all costs and expenses are on the driver

Truckers salary hasn't gone up in years. I knew someone who earned that as a trucker in the 1980s and it's still the same today. It's a good salary but inflation as gone up. They should make $150,000.

Probably he is making double shift for those money…about 14 hours per day…those money includes overtime … So actually he doesn’t make that much per hour….so don’t blame a trucker for inflation prices because he don’t make that much.

The problem with truck companies that drivers sacrifice their families for the job and they are not compensated for that, in my company they do a dirty job making a lot of stops, driving far away and driving overnight and that means not sleeping with their wife that means risking their marriage plus risking the licence and life out there with every kind of weather, is not fair, dealing with any kind of traffic and police, also they have to deal with bad dispachers and bosses who lie and are incompetent i hope something change man

My bro in law makes north of 100K by a fair amount. I was on track to apply for Walmart by around March of this year, but during 2023 a broken spine, no health insurance/company dropped me, and "not qualifying for medical assistance" all got in the way of that. Hopefully it'll hold up this time though.
