    Very Interesting, I've been driving for 2 years now mainly reefer/dry experience. I've thought about considering Walmart but no DC near me enough and I doubt Walmart would let me park the truck at my house. Although with a Walmart in town and a mini Truck stop. I'm starting a new Tanker job without experience on tanker but have endorsements this week. I've gotten my Personnal ROTH IRA account at age 25 with 10k in it right now, thinking about the future and securing it is what matters most.

    Wow you are smarter than 90%+ of most people. If you want to email me we can discuss your personal stuff. You need to live withing 250 miles of a DC. You would drive to that DC on your Monday and go home on your Friday. If you are so far away I highly doubt a go home. Would be a fit. As you see in the video Walmart gave drivers the biggest raise in the companies history. My pay is the lowest of all drivers (except for those about to retire doing a 5 on 5 off schedule) If you worked a regular 5-2 you would make 10-20k more than I do. My 401k alone (not the roth or stock I pay into) has 4500 in since Feb. (2 months)

  • @WalmartRich

    @WalmartRich

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you pay $50 for family i just means you took the high deductible. As for the Roth and 401k (I believe if you talk to a financial person) you have 18% of your money going into retirement which is fantastic! I heard if you have 15% thats good. 401k will match 6%. The 401 k when you retire will be taxed at payout. The roth is not taxed at retirement because you are having it deducted after tax now. I believe if you keep saving like you are, if invested well, you should have 1million or more in 20 years. I would reach out to Merrill and speak to someone.

    You must look at activities. You can make as much or more with activities. So if you take miles plus activities it like your making 1.20 a mile or more. Bottom line is the gross pay. I went to a 6-3 in Oct. Was on 5-2 5-3 (which is less days worked than the 5-2 most run) and my base pay was around d 98k. I also was off the month of December for a proceesure. If I had not taken time off I would have made 105k plus for the year. Also the raise did not happen till late February. I made 200-400 a week more after the raise. Ill also get more cpm each year I'm here.

    Not always. There are some positions like that but usually takes some time to get enough senority. Not trying to be rude or condescending, but many driver spend weeks or months on the road. Walmarts shortesttime away is 5 days. BUT gas city, being a grocery DC, if you live close, can afford you home 2-3 days a week sometimes. Its an amazing opportunity you have. Many drivers would do anything to be in your shoes. The short sacrifice you have to put out now will potentially change your families lives. Not just now but future generations.

    Experience does not matter. Mileage makes up less than half of your pay at walmart. Most first year drivers will make between 110,000-120, 000 the first year. If you look on the description, i believe there is a link to my paycheck video. Everyone starts out at .585 cpm plus all activities I described in the paycheck video.

    So they pay every 2 weeks? So basicly 1300 a week take home

  • @WalmartRich

    @WalmartRich

    Жыл бұрын

    This was an old pay system. Yes they pay every 2 weeks. I also have a lot of extras in the deduction in 401k, roth 401k etc. My understanding with the new raise most guys are grossing 4000 to 4500 a paycheck on avg. Guys are making 105k to 115k on avg. The avg take home will change based on your tax filing, deductions, insurance etc. If you deduct the bare minimum I would think 3000 to 3500 bring home is possible. My bring home is currently 2400 but I'm have 7% in 401k and extra for taxes and other things. It's almost impossible to say what your take home would be because I don't know your tax withholding and your deduction preferences. If you take the avg of 110k a year decide by 52 weeks you get $2115 a week. Or 4230 a pay period. Focus on the gross and go from there. No 2 guys will have the same "take home".

    This is a 2 week pay stub. My average bring home after you look at everything is about 2400 to 2700. Now you also have to look at my deductions because I have the 401k taken out at 6%. I also add to my Roth. I also pay for stock purchases. The other thing that you have to take into account and it's very important is, that I work A 5/2-5/3 schedule that means I only average 4 and a 1/2 days per week.. Anyone who comes on as a new hire hes gonna start with a 5/2 schedule and make more than I'm making right now. If you get a 6/2 or 6/3 schedule You're going to make more than I do. So I pretty much make the least amount of money possible with the schedules available. Other than the guy who's about to retire it is on a 5 And 5 schedule. If you have any questions or if this still doesn't make any sense because I've gotten lots of comments on the paystub please feel free to email me and I'll explain. Since the new pay raise, I am on average to make close to a 110,000 on just my salary.

  • @WalmartRich

    Avg is 12 hrs. Some days its 10 some days its 13. I avg about 62-65 hrs a week. Life of a truck driver. I also have a more home time schedule. If I ran a 5-2 straight I'd make 120k+ and it would still be about 60-65 hrs unless I hold back. Walmart allows you to be the captain of the ship. If I want to be done in 10-11 hrs I can.

  • @WalmartRich

    @WalmartRich

    2 жыл бұрын

    I got to thinking about these number you suggested. And they are more wrong than I originally thought. I work an avg of 4.5 days a week with the 5/2 5/3 schedule. I only work 10 hrs on my 5th day. Also as mentioned in this video (which is the only paystub I looked at) the 2nd week was low. I usually hit 4k (or close) gross every 2 weeks before the raise. So let's guess low. Let's say I only hit 4 k. This would eliminate all safety and extension or any other bonuses. Let's assume I work a lot which is 13 hrs a day for 4 days and 12 on my go home day. (Which I never done and you gain PTO time for every hour worked) thats 64 hours a week. So 4k by 128hrs is 31.25 an hour MINIMUM! add in safety bonuses, pto time, the 6% I recieve in my 401k, extention bonuses, etc and I grunted my hourly value is well over 40$ an hour. Based off a low pay check.

    @WalmartRich

    4 ай бұрын

    @user-ur7gd5rd4h that's entirely up to you. What is your retirement like? What is your insurance like? How is your PTO? How stressful is your job? There are many factors to make a decision. If your just chasing a dollar maybe. If your weekends off are more valuable then no Walmart is not for you. Are you paying mor than.400 a MONTH for Blucross Blue Shield insurance for a family? Does you're company offer a center of excellence that covers all cancer, heart, joint replacement issues 100%? Does your job give you a 15% discount on stock purchases? Does your job offer a roth or traditional.401k? Can you earn 2000$ or more a year in safety bonuses? Can you earn 26+ PTO days a year? Are you OK possibly working some holidays other than Thanksgiving and Christmas? Walmart is mostly drop and hook or no touch freight. A walmart drivers biggest stress outside of normal driver issues is getting someone to answer the back door from time to time. Walmart is not for everyone. Some guys would rather Haul fuel and work in the weather and be home daily with weeke ds off and make 80-90k a year. Some guys find the benefits at walmart are better for them. Each person must weight the opitions.
