The Electric Sportbike from China is finally finished and on the road. The cost was a little higher than I expected for the chinese electric sportbike build, but I think it's still an awesome price for the performance it has. So today, we break down the total cost for the build!

I was guessing it cost around 8k. So 6k isn't bad for the performance and looks the bike has. Keep on building and growing the channel!

@@Sky-jq2no That probably would not be possible. The batteries are not air or water cooled so any type of fast charging would probably overheat them. This is assuming they can even handle a bigger charge current. These are the tradeoffs and things you need to decide when you build your own e-bike.

Congratulations on turning around an initially bad experience into a great one! I can only admire the determination and ingenuity you have shown to create a unique one off modern electric motorcycle. To have a high level of performance in speed and range for a relatively small expense compared to commercial offerings is a wonderful achievement. Also to enjoy every mile with zero expense in petrol costs must be very satisfying! Thanks for posting.

Sitting on the curb, the bike looks much faster than it actually performs. To me, it looks like a 600cc gasoline class, sport bike... my Honda 600RR got up to like 180 mph. This looks like a fun, go around town cruiser, but besides that, IDK? However, I'm impressed how much work you put into this project, and didn't give up. I firmly believe that someday I will buy an electric motorcycle. Oh, my KX450 MX bike is faster than most electric motorcycles LOL.

Good are a lucky man, good looking bike and a beautiful wife too. Your friend that built the battery, good guy, smart too, you are lucky again, dang man, you should buy some lotto tickets! You learned a lot too so win win. 150 mile range is in my opinion unnecessary when I think about too work and back or even taking a weekend ride. 100 miles seems okay so you could have saved some with less miles so less batteries. That was a pressure build too so if you had more time, could have purchased good used batteries and saved there as well. So next project is to get a wrecked/not working electric bike, bring it back to life or get a used motor bike and convert it to electric if you love DYI but DYI can be lonely .... always working on project alone in a garage... its why I cut back on DYI projects, I missed having people around! Good job... take care!!!!

Do you recommend a chinese electric motorcycle as a first bike? I assume some pros are that its easy to drive and cheap. Also you can upgrade it for speed as you become more confident. Or do you think its better to start with another bike?

@The Inja: I really like how this bike came out, bro. And I'm glad you were able to turn a lemon into awesomeness. I hope you can figure out how to get the engine sound on the speakers idea to work, it would be really cool to make it sound like the Turbo Interceptor car from that movie The Wraith! PS: Tesla was messing with that idea too to help visually impared pedestrians hear their electric cars coming, maybe they could give you some pointers?

This looks way better then most of the zero options. If you want anything that looks sporty you got to drop big dollars. Why building your own is the best. You should sell people people your batteries builds because people pay big bucks for quality battery builds for Ebike. I paid $1790 cad for 30ah lithium battery + install + tax. And paid $300 cad for a 4.5ah charger.

Love the build. Been watching since you started. Need to subscribe, but...can you do a long distance run (time lapse, of course). I'm interested in seeing if you have any more issues after adding a fan to the controller.

Design your own sound for it dude! Far more interesting if you find a nice throttle activated sound (maybe something bassy) instead of just using normal combustion engine sounds. I think the new electric Porsche car has some unique sound aswell that sound pretty epic.

For motorcycle sounds, You can tap off one or two of the phase wires that go to the motor, install a high resistor (like 10kOhms or so, verify with an electrician), and connect to the speaker, and connect the other side of the speaker to the ground. You preferably want to plug it into a cheap woofer for testing, as they handle higher loads, not to fry your speakers.
