Some might not agree with my revelation this week but it just hit me like a literal 💡 that no one will know or care if I throw this 3rd grade trinket or 10 year old blanket away. NO ONE WILL CARE. Getting over the what if/maybes is helping me immensely.

The reason so many hold on is because they care, no? I don't care about other people's opinion on what I toss out or keep, at least I try not to. But my opinion matters and this includes not wanting to put things in the landfill which could be of use to others, being baffled about what to do with it if it isn't able to be recycled, the what if I'll need this, the this cost me money, the I don't have money to replace this mindset and of course... sentimental reasons.... Have a great day everyone.... 😊.

@@samstruys3088 I think the OP’s point was that material things truly don’t matter. We as human beings attach so much importance to material things, but why? Because we think they are important? They truly aren’t. When we die, they will get thrown out, donated, forgotten.

Mine was the same. He went through decluttering his parents huge house for sale and a forced business move at the same time and its well and truly cured him. We also were forced to clear out the garageand there was so much stuff he'd never used. I'm decluttering weekly so I'm always nagging him to take the boxes away so he's getting a sense of how much stuff we have. Two kids have moved out, it's just the 2 of us and 1 child left and a house full of stuff. We're not getting any younger and who wants to heave around all this stuff with our creaking knees? All that to say is just keep at it, the moment will come.

Well done to Gaby! I see myself in her. Each item must be given great importance and a story of intention. Hard to watch, I recognise the look on her face, like looking in a mirror. Carla you’re so good at keeping the mood light and humorous, just right for someone who is terrified of letting go.

Good to see Gabby again! And you guys are so right about dropping off asap, it leaves no room for regret!

Great work ladies. Suggestion: Maybe it's just me but the ballet shoes seemed to bring back a memory of regret rather than happiness. You talked about not being able to pursue it since you moved so much as a kid. I would let them go. Donate for someone to use or play dressup with at a daycare if they aren't in good enough condition to actually dance. Focus on who you are now. If you still want to learn to dance ballet, buy a new pair and sign up for an adult class! ❤

The hard core decluttering and tidying videos are very satisfying to watch too, but a short and sweet ”let’s find 25 things to leave the house” is actually very relatable, and something I could (and should!) go do right now. Those glasses do look adorable on you, Carla. I was itching to organize that green drawer but I know that will come in time. Gabby you're making great progress!

I got trapped in my bedroom all day, with repair men working in my hall….so I declutterred my whole nightstand, went through the storage box of sandals that I haven’t unpacked and decided to donate all but two pairs, plus bathroom cosmetic decluttering…. Filled half a large trash bag with excessive items, like the fact that I had like 30+ chapstick/ blister/ Burt’s bees type lip stuff and I don’t like many of them….. and don’t get me started on the number of hand and foot softening creams that were in my drawer unused. It’s like I think if I spend $20 on another cream I’ll wake up and my feet will magically be soft (bc I never actually USE the things I buy 🪄 🎩 🐇 😅). Goodbye to all but the things I do use. And also I need to learn to stop buying things I don’t use, and appreciate what I have.

Vaseline, a good foot file (I like the cheese grater looking one) during your bath/shower a few times a week and some old socks over the vaselined feet for a few hours once or twice a week work wonders on foot calluses and doesn't cost too much.

I feel like this girl needs more than a declutter! She's very sweet but her apartment is an indication of what is going on in her mind and she needs help decluttering her mind! She's a little flighty. I agree with some of the others as in maybe a total new room redo with drawers organised and such. Just not sure that would work because the things you helped her organize last time are clutteted again. She may need to unclutter her mind first!

Took me 3 and a half years to declutter my clothes and other stuff. Took me a long time because I work full time. Also, I had a lot of papers which I went through during COVID lockdown and I shredded a bunch of my papers. As I was decluttering, I organized the stuff that I was keeping. I still go through my clothes and jewelry to see if there's anything else I can donate. I only buy something if I need it. I live in a small house with my spouse who is a hoarder 😳. My home is so cluttered and unorganized because of my spouse clutter but there's nothing I can do because he refuses to get rid of anything. Gabby you are taking baby steps in decluttering. That's how I started. Before you know it you will have less stuff. I feel so much better with less stuff and I am amazed at how quickly I can find what I need. Keep going Gabby you are doing great!! Carla I love your channel. 💕

I lost a lot of stuff I loved but hadn't been using to a water leak. It was a big wake up call to let stuff go. One pair of good quality work boots literall disintegrated in my hands. That time has passed. I need to have stuff for the person I am today.

My husband have a lot of books, we have 20 bookcases in small home! The last years he started donating or getting rid of many books, at least he got rid of some that he had no intention of reading again. I suggest that if you can keep some rooms less cluttered you would feel better. Let him a space to clutter but keep control over some spaces. In my house, the kitchen is mine, and I try to keep the living room looking nice. The bedroom and bathroom has to be safe and usable. He is on his declutter journey and he has improved, I think he liked the feeling of being in control of his life. I am also on my decluttering journey, it is a slow process but worth it. I wish you luck.

More declutter videos please on her apartment! So much potential it’s crazy. Nice 15 min declutter tho m, but she can do much more little by little.

Love this! Gabby do yourself a favor and put all the "sentimental/childhood/parent" stuff you find as you go along in a box. That way you don't keep seeing them, finding them, and being bogged down with the emotional weight of them. And when you are ready to deal with it you know where it is. Your place should be a place for LIVING not MOURNING.❤ And get rid of the ballet shoes and sign up for a dance class! It will help uou heal! Sending you much love (and I always pray for you when you pop on these videos). You're a wonderful woman❤.

With the shoe laces: when I am decluttering or tidying storage spaces and I find one of these projects that’s done in unter five minutes I’ll do it immediately. I know, most people „just declutter“ or „just tidy“ but crossing out a little thing from the silent to do list will feel soooo great.

Great spot of decluttering. Your vids are always such a delight to watch. I feel like I'm 80% decluttered in this bout, so always looking for inspiration. One of the things that has helped me let go of stuff is asking, what would I do, if I needed this item and I'd got rid of it? Recent example, I had a tava pan. I hadn't used it in about 10 months to heat tortilla/pitta bread etc, so donated it. A week later I randomly bought some crumpets and reached for the pan I no longer had. After a moment of doubt I realised I could just heat them under the grill instead :-) Turns out we don't always need things for specific tasks, as much as we might think we do

Ummm 🤔 seems to be alot of negativie feed back?? My guess is from individuals who dont go and spend time helping people.. who struggle with decluttering. Some of us have disorders which makes organizating and decluttering.. a dreadful task. And we struggle and try our best . I find these videos extremely helpful. ❤

16 items decluttered today and two more over the weekend. Some clothes, 3 cans of paint and some random stuff. This all freed a bag of things that was under our bed. Now there are only two extra pillows under the bed and a pool noodle…big yeah. I really hate things under the bed. We found a more functional rack with wheels that allows us to hang our jackets and hats in our laundry room. A far more functional rack. ❤ I bet the water taste good from your Waterdrop 😊💦❤

Gaby I suggest that you watch Alexandra Later, a Canadian KZreadr, she creates intentional spaces that bring peace of mind. I am a maximalist working my way to a clearer home. It is slow but I keep at it. My favorite question is: will I use this again? Have I looked or used this item the last year? I have a lot of sentimental clutter but it can be managed and reduced as well.
