But if you click on the "main page" here on YT for this channel and click on the tab "Videos" there is videos that is 11 years old.. but i having a hard time find some of the episodes i am thinking on. cuz i think they was more fun to watch than this new stuff..

    Hi guys, another fantastic build! You are an inspiration to many. I just have one concern: please do amp checks. I don’t mean “fly it and note the mAh consumed”. I would like to see you put a watt meter between the battery and ESC then test the current draw. This should always be done with electric flight because the power draw is so sensitive to prop selection. You have a large audience, so let’s teach them this vital habit.

    I don't know whether it's camera distortion or what, but when that plane is in the air it looks like there is some anhedral to the wing. If that is being induced to the wing somehow through fluid dynamic warping due to slipstream that could be why roll performance is lacking. The whole wing structure itself could benefit from a bit of dihedral positioning, IMO, that would improve roll rate - say about 3-4 degrees at the root. It would also stabilize lift characteristics. But solid, huge, awesome airplane guys! Love the color scheme! Rock on!!

  • @jim-stacy

    @jim-stacy

    Yeah I though I noticed that aswell. for such a large wing you would have though there would natural dihedral flex, but.. thats a STIFF wing!

    Love the huge builds! Has anyone at FT experimented with stippling or golf ball indentation designs on their planes? It helps round balls fly farther and straighter… maybe a plane would be cool to take advantage of the golf ball dents!

    Hi Guys, following you is just so much fun and inspiring. I've seen you've used a CNC hot wire cutter to cut the wing... I've been thinking a long time about hotwire-cutting a mold with that technique of a glider wing... I mean a real 18m competition glider wing. Accuracy of the wing curvature, especially in the region of the leading edge is a must, and virtually no bowing of the wire while slicing through the foam is required in order to obtain a ruled surface. Would the CNC hot wire be a viable method according to your experience, provided that one creates the 9m semi-wing mold in, say, max 1.5m long sections? Thanks!
