    I live in Capitol Hill and have been here nearly 5 years (in July)... and I feel lucky that I rent from a family that owns the small building (8 units). I signed my lease back in Feb. that doesn't even kick in until October... because they offered me the same rent as the past two years. I pay $1500 for a one bedroom, about 550 sq. ft. (I think). It's old, but has amazing well-insulated windows that were new when I moved in and new hardwood floors. Appliances are basic and the cabinets are from the 60s I think. But it's clean, safe, and well located... worth every penny in Seattle!

    That studio was sooo nice! I usually never think studios are spacious enough but this one was! $2500 for a 1 bedroom is so crazy!! omg lol I would go broke 😂 I couldn’t imagine living on the 29th floor but that view was beautiful!! In AZ rent is anywhere between $1600-$2500, I really hope things start to get cheaper next year cause I really want to move lol

    I use to live in Seattle and it rains a lot this time of year that has not changed 🤣 but it is much expensive now. It is on par with NY prices pretty close. Actually I have seen studios here that are bigger for @1500-$1600 but not as new and not in Manhattan but I have no desire to live in Manhattan. The fridge 😂 when I lived in Seattle I was on Capital Hill, Queen Ann I was not in to living downtown. WOW that rooftop is crazy. But for $4700/month you should have access to this lol. I actually worked in the top floor of that double arched roofed building when you panned the skyline view. Very cool! 👍

    About the closet without tracks and the fridge...If you had told the management about it, both the fridge getting fixated to the floor and the installation of tracks would have been taken care of if you had communicated a desire to move in?.. They do not pertain to the apartment itself.

    That a lot of money for these apartments when people on SSI only make $787 a month that why there are so many homeless people in Seattle. Seattle needs to have flats like Hong Kong has for people to live in. Then there would be less homeless people.

    one bedroom here in LA can range so much but at minimum i would say 2k lol the 4.7k 2/2 had beautiful views i love the kitchen island too! Overall seattle is pricey but i think LA is the same maybe more because at least those apartments had washer and dryer and amenities.

  • @KatieKH1

    @KatieKH1

    That makes sense, i've never been to LA but thats totally what I imagined it would cost! Do most apartments in LA not have washer dryers?? It's definitely nice that most of the high rise apartments here have all the amenities to make up for the price

    My partner and I share a 4th floor 1 bed + den, 1 bath, 750 sqft apartment with in-unit washer/dryer and window AC in Seattle for $1,250 (+utilities, free off-street parking)! For both of us, it's about a 40 min single bus to work if/when work goes back to in-person. We know that's a steal, but we generally live in what is considered an "undesirable" and "unsafe" neighborhood. Our apartment also doesn't have any amenities besides a small fenced-in, ground-floor patio space but that's fine with us. If I'm honest, we wouldn't use the amenities if we had them so why pay for them? We also started renting during the pandemic, so rent was very low ($1,200) when we signed. I think if you're a homebody who doesn't feel like they need all the fancy amenities, you can find something for pretty cheap (relatively speaking) within the city.

  • @KatieKH1

    @KatieKH1

    Nice! Honestly having a washer/dryer is the only thing you really need and for that price it’s a steal! I definitely tend to get excited about amenities and extras but it’s totally true that I barely end up using them as well 😅 Regardless of location and amenities, if anyone can find a living situation that works for them at a good price in seattle thats ideal! When I first moved to seattle I rented a room that I’d found on Craigslist, it was a 5 bedroom townhome and although it was tough at times to live with strangers I only payed $700 for a really nice home and a really nice location so it was perfect for me!

    Considering a move to the Seattle area. SF Bay Area apartments are ridiculous. I pay $2400.00 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath. Most apartments where I live were built in the 50’s or 60’s. If I were to move now to a modern apartment with amenities I’d be paying more than I do now for just a studio. 😩 My current unit has not been upgraded but if it were remodeled I’d be paying $3,000.00 a month.

  • @KatieKH1

    @KatieKH1

    2 жыл бұрын

    Ahh yeah i've definitely heard that about SF! That is the nice thing about seattle is that most of the buildings are fairly new so you're likely to be able to get into something a little more modern!

    How exciting! & Yes in my opinion SLU feels like the most safe part of the downtown area. Theres Amazon buildings literally everywhere which typically have lots of foot traffic and security guards and what not and its just a lot newer so you get a general sense of safety over there!
